I got impatient. Back out @ $32.50. 1097.73 more profit (51% again). ~$3300 total.
Too bad the rest of my account’s still down $10k+ last 2 days. I’d have been better off if I just sold my HIMX on Monday. Yeah you’ve taken more risk. Most I had at risk at once was $4300. I had some buy orders in at open today but they were a couple $ too low.
I didn’t post all my GOOGL option plays for the week, because I felt like I was junking up the thread. I ended up +$4605.35. If I would have just kept with the 2 initial calls bought at $39 and sold EOD today I would have been up $2000. If you notice I didn’t hold many overnight towards the end of the week. I was trying to keep risk down.

ETA: also notice I moved up $10 on the calls because the time value went down and the underlying went up and allowed me to not have much difference between intrinsic value and strike. Who knows if this is good trading or not, but has been working well for me for quite a while. I looked up my rate of returns and here they are for YTD, 1 year, and 3 year followed by S&P benchmark as of end of Nov.
All Accounts +26.91% +30.51% +18.12%
(1 year less than what it should have been because I held a lot of cash early in the year waiting for a correction)
S&P 500® Index +20.49% +22.87% +10.91%
ETA 2: With this big of a bull market and how much my portfolio has gone up, it is taking bigger and bigger bets (balls) to beat the market. Bigger bets in absolute dollars not percentage of portfolio. When I take an $8000 hit it is harder to shrug off compared to the $4000 a few years ago even though it is same percentage of my portfolio.
Wow, they have really come down after they split up the business. I had a little at one point, but gave up and took my losses. Still, I agree with your assessment and if the business isn’t that bad, it’s worth buying cheap enough.
Wait for material news and reassess, either to take losses or profits. It’s only up 5%, better than a couple shorts that went 100%+ against me the other day. One came back to about breakeven, hoping for the other likewise.
Pre-Market it’s down 3+%. I was concerned about the price rising slower on the daily with decreased volume. Plus it was nowhere near the gap down so it not likely to fill it in the near term.
