Bank of America Preferred Rewards

BofA has a new promo on their unlimited rewards card, which I heard about via my Merrill broker since it also can receive the 0.75x additional rewards multiple (assuming you qualify for the top tier). The cashback is normally 1.5% (ie 2.625% with the extra 0.75x), but the promo is for the first year you get 2.0% instead of 1.5%, so an extra 0.5% (which does not get multiplied). This leads to 3.125% for the first year, and then 2.625% thereafter.

There are also some smaller promo features, like $200 on the first $1k spent, 0% on purchases and on (3% fee) BTs for the first year or so, etc, which aren’t bad either. I think I’ll see about getting this one.

I was told I could later reallocate CL from my existing card, but it was not possible to get the promo without a new application.
