details how a jackass from Minnesota travelled to Brazil and returned with a virus variant likely to sicken, and even kill, lots of Americans. And this apparently is just fine. The right of this Minnesota asshole to travel outweighs our collective American right to life . . . . the Brazil variant being potentially deadly and certainly highly transmissible.
This sort of (what passes for) 2021 “reasoning” messes with my head. It’s not how I reason. I went to a different school . . . at a different time. I have common sense.
“These cases illustrate why it is so important to limit travel during a pandemic as much as possible,” Minnesota state epidemiologist Ruth Lynfield said in a statement released by the health department.
Haven’t the delays have been occurring here, too. They haven’t been rescheduling in your state due to the delays?
We went down in priority beginning of January. The relabeling approval means we get less vaccine than the previous orders from Pfizer would have provided, and since we don’t have enough of the special syringes that’s less usable dosages than ordered.
Where have you seen Pfizer agreeing to provide more doses sooner than originally agreed?
"Troye went on to say, “So here I am as a homeland adviser, saying, ‘You’re asking me to spy on this woman that I’m sharing an office with, who is on our team, when we know that this pandemic is about to be out of control.”
Dr. Birx appeared on Face the Nation in a rare interview, Sunday, where she claimed President Trump publicized charts and graphs that she and her team did not create. And on Monday, Troye corroborated her story.
“I remember that day because Dr. Birx was really angry and she actually confronted me and said, ‘Do you know who created those graphs? Did you work on that?’ and I said, ‘Well, you know that there has been an effort to manipulate the data, to downplay this virus.”
Even though Dr. Birx was forced to work in a “no-win situation,” Troye was glad she finally had an opportunity to share her side of the story."
I’m not sure what you mean by delays, but I was drawing the distinction between delays due to the normal production of vaccines and their distribution, ie we don’t have them all now and it takes time to make more and also give them out, vs delays due to unexpected production problems or supply chain issues, where whoever is the marginal recipient of those doses suffers a much larger delay in delivery than they were anticipating. EU seems to be in this situation with the PFE Belgian plant for example.
So who’s ass is Biden pulling these additional doses out of? Because I thought the narrative was that there was no extra to be had, and any further orders would be put at the end of a long waiting list?
Or was it actually correct that there was a stockpile of second doses that are now being released? I dont know what else could explain it, because last we were told, Trump screwed us and we were going to be getting even fewer doses that expected after relabeling vials for 6 doses instead of 5. Now suddenly there’s 16% more than planned?
I expect they’re going to be coming from eventual production, like in Q3 unless production goes very well. I didn’t see anything on timing, and I’d bet if they were soon they would have said so.
It’s crazy how far behind we were on sequencing surveillance monitoring (among the worst in the world). It puts us way behind and incapable of containing any more dangerous variants. This has been circulating here for an unknown amount of time but we were blind
NVAX vaccine trial results. 90% effective in UK, half of which had the UK variant, so good on that. 60% in a S. Africa trial, where 90% had the SA variant, so not looking as good with that one matching up vs the current vaccines.
