Pouring one out for my old Shatner card - looks like it’s time to switch to the Alliant 2.5% card as my backup. If only they could find a local celebrity to sponsor it!

Yup, I ended up calling and cancelling the card last night. They made no retention offer attempt other than the 0% APR balance transfer offers that were sitting in my online account.
I’m currently on the Chase, Bilt, and Hyatt trains and have been fairly successful at getting value out of that ecosystem.
Anyone else received Aven 3% cashback / year offer? Max $10K charge / year.

Now that it flipped over, I was kinda hoping that the airline credit glitch still worked, but it looks like the system that handles the new card only credits at 1X if booked direct. I suppose there is some value to 5X for stuff booked directly through Priceline, but this would have been great.

Wait, my 1.5% redemption options aren’t working at all. Also I guess this was stupid of me because I didn’t realize we didn’t get the 10% redemption bonus until September 2, 2025, just the 1.5%. Sent a message to customer service.
Anyone claim the Global Entry credit? I went to check my card today and saw all my frontloaded spending before the end of the 3.33% transferred over to the new card benefits. I personally haven’t seen a scenario where Global Entry is worth the $100, but I’ll take it if its free. Feels like a bittersweet farewell gift.

Saw a comment on DoC about offers popping up, and went to check my account, surely enough I did have an offer even if its really badly typo-ridden. Of course like everyone else I sock drawered this card once the nerf came so my spending cratered to zero with Barclays which might be the reason.
Think the offer I got is just 5x up to to $50 in points not the actual $50 points they almost certainly typo’d. But the up to 5000 points definitely covers them here. Still 5x on anything is always good.

No need to apologize, this is good stuff! I cancelled my card when the nerf came through, but it is good to know Barclays is throwing active cardholders a bit of a bone.

I received an offer for 7500 points ($75) for 5 purchases of $50+. I would advise taking a screenshot of any accepted offers because I never found a way to view them again. Card will then go back to the sock drawer until the next decent offer.
