Making Manufactured Spending Worthwhile (2017)

Cool story, bro.

Anyone know anything about franchises ? I see 359 Subways closed in 2016, and 909 Subways closed in 2017. You could do some major M$ volume through something like that, and without anyone raising an eyebrow, when normally you would get the stinkeye, get scrutinized, and get asked a lot of proprietary questions for a fraction of that kind of volume.

I’m guessing Subway won’t allow someone to come in and scoop up a location that is about to close for cheap. They likely will allow it to close and then tell you that you have to pay full boat for the franchise.

How much gross sales could a single Subway have at an average transaction of $10 or less? I can’t imagine going from a few thousand a day to 50k+ without drawing scrutiny over AML or accusations of self-dealing. Especially with the new volume all from prepaids.

Interesting article about it in today’s WaPo: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/the-dark-side-of-your-5-footlong-business-owners-say-it-could-bankrupt-them/2017/12/28/425b6ae8-e671-11e7-a65d-1ac0fd7f097e_story.html?utm_term=.25865b236b50

And who would know they’re prepaids ? Sure, sure, if somebody examines the numbers they can tell, but why would they ? You’re a successful legit business, running volumes of revenue through their bank, everybody’s making money, deregulation is toute la rage…

Nah. Car Washes are much better than Subways.

Skip the MS, go right into meth cooking and dealing, why don’t you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. “Night Shift” I think it was called. Also proved that there was shenanigans going on in one of the major software packages.

Late Shift? Do I know either of you from OGH? I was something dumb like Anon615

Late Shift, that was it! Yep, we’d have been in that secret board together if we were both running it.

Wish I’d archived OGH just for nostalgia. I’ve got s few jackpot screenshots laying around somewhere though.

Had a different experience past week. Got 2 500 VGC from walgreen’s. Went to Walmart, was told it has to be on 1 card or 1 card and cash for $998.5. I said, will get MO for $498.5. The transaction was declined, receipt said ‘Cash or Debit card required’.
I haven’t tried usps, thinking it will be same result.
Anyone care to share how they get their MO’s with VGC? Or how to liquidate VGC?

what card did you buy from Walgreens?

Vanilla debit gift card with $5.95 fee.

Ah that’s the problem. Vanillas don’t work at WM for more than $49.99.

Thank you for clarifying.

Try other places that sell MO near you with that Vanilla you already have. Finding that will be better than finding the right cards that work at WM.

It looks like Tio (formerly Chargesmart) will officially be shut down. Paypal is suspending Tio’s operations after the 233m buyout of their competitor.

One place I have had success at MS is thru cruise line casinos. Buy chips or slot credits on your gambling account via the cruise line card which is backed by your credit card, take a few spins, then cash them out. Always has been a purchase in my experience.

I’m getting down to just overpaying my taxes.

With Tio gone, and all of the Walmarts near me closed up (west Los Angeles), there’s not a whole lot I can really do.

If anyone has tips, I’m all ears.
