The above is true of Red China, as well. Wow! It’s like Xi Jinping owes Putin for delaying the invasion until after the Red China hosted Olympics. 
I thought so too, but apparently there is at least one that’s produced in Russia but is independent, though they’re probably in danger.
More like Putin owes Xi for supporting the invasion.
But yes, the laws in Putin’s Russia are totalitarian. He has made them so during his reign while wiping out all opposition. Vlad the Terrible.
I also thought of the parallel with Kaepernick and concluded that the situations are not all that dissimilar as well. He was not head in charge of marketing but had similar public visibility. To be consistent, I think the treatment of both is fine. Both got fired for using the public visibility from their jobs to make public statements contrary to their employer’s wishes. Good reminder that political views and belief are not a protected class.
And in Xi’s Red China. So sad. 
I didn’t follow either of the parties, but I am pretty certain that the football player had much higher visibility, much more of an impact, and presented much more of a “statement” than the Levi’s lady. In fact, I’m not positive that she even presented a “statement”. From my, less than adequate, short term memory, she questioned more than stated, or in the football player’s example, demanded.
And yet he was widely heralded as a hero by those same people villanizing the Levis lady. That’s the hypocrisy. It might be faulty memory (I have no citation), but I seem to recall Levi’s [indirectly?] supporting Kaepernick’s ‘protest’ to some extent.
They are dissimilar if she never did her activism on the clock/while at the office/using work resources/putting Levi’s name behind anything she said. Kaepernick did his activism on the clock/at the stadium/wearing his uniform/while representing the 49ers/NFL.

Yes, the initial impact was in big cities (Democrat) from international spread. Rural areas weren’t impacted until later. If you break it down by county party though, the main effect you’re seeing is not vaccination differential but age. Age is an exponential risk factor for covid deaths and depending on who you ask, the average Republican is 3-7 years older than the average democrat, and this effect is enhanced if you look at majority Republican counties. That’s a double in expected deaths right there. TX for example.

Well that’s one way to get CNN to stop broadcasting misinformation - a decade in jail for fake news in Russia so they promptly left.

Which doesn’t explain how the death toll shifted over time.
I thought that was obvious from the natural epidemic spread from initial cities to eventually rural areas. They mentioned that in your article, and of course big cities and rural areas have different priorities and politics in general.
In many cases, the characteristics of communities that were associated with higher death rates at the beginning of the pandemic are now associated with lower death rates (and vice versa). Early in the pandemic, urban areas were disproportionately impacted. During the first wave, the coronavirus death rate in the 10% of the country that lives in the most densely populated counties was more than nine times that of the death rate among the 10% of the population living in the least densely populated counties. In each subsequent wave, however, the nation’s least dense counties have registered higher death rates than the most densely populated places.
Once your old people have died, the death toll has to shift to areas where the old people havent yet died…
After you’ve gambled away every penny you have during your first 15 minutes in the casino, do you claim your luck shifted when you lost nothing more the rest of your visit?
So the reality is that Russia is liberating Ukraine from the Nazis and most attacks on Ukrainian civilians are false flag operations by the Ukrainians themselves for propaganda purposes?
Because people in those dense areas took precautions more seriously.
Like taking off to the country to get away from the urban deathtrap?
This new law is basically the official end to free press in Russia. Courts controlled by Czar Putin will decide what constitutes fake news which amounts to basically anything not in line with the script from the Czar.
That you’d rejoice at this happening in another country is annoying but that you’d advocate for killing this fundamental freedom in our country too seems disturbing and scary to me. It just shows what some people would be ready to give up for making sure nothing penetrates their media bubble. Feel free to spin it into a joke but to me it reveals a state of mind either way.
And that’s different than here how? The main difference is that here, CNN is on the side of the powers that be so they’re allowed to continue with impunity.
And no, the fact there are surrogates carrying out the censorship - whoops I mean “fact checking” - and blocking the alternative perspectives doesnt make it any less egregious.
The government isn’t blocking anything here. It’s the big tech companies deciding they don’t want to associate with the nutcases. Free speech is bring your own soapbox, all that’s happening is the nuts aren’t being allowed to use other people’s soapboxes.
