Nothing was “incomprehensible” at all, either. Yes, Biden stumbled through a sentence that was slightly more complex than the sentence fragments we’re now used to that are only 3 or four words with an average word length of only 3 or 4 letters.
I’ve never previously watched “news networks” but lately have flipped through CNN/BBC/FOX over the last couple months.
There are a couple on CNN who are obviously with a slight slant and not always too focused on actual substance (not a fan of Anderson CooperDon Lemon, for example), but at least in an educated way with no complete fabrications – but I see a few “oversights” and mis-statements.
Fox and the alt-right talking heads all seem to be trying to fulfill the “stupid blonde” stereotype (I’m definitely not saying they are blonde, or that blondes are stupid, neither of those would be accurate statements). And they’re almost all completely nuts, though there are a couple exceptions. And actual facts are replaced with complete nonsense at a very high rate, with no possibility of just being accidental misstatements.
Another thing which is pretty strange is the commercials. On FOX news, it’s predominantly scammy and predatory companies. It’s also fun to see that since the current “President” watches FOX so much, we get to see so many name-drops by the President using the federal platform to prop up frequent advertisers on FOX.
“Concerned” is a really strange characterization of the expression. Yes, it wasn’t clear where Biden was going until stumbling through the sentences. And Gupta’s expression seems to indicate that he was concentrating trying to follow along. Concentration is not “concern”.
Your bias is blinding you.
Hopefully you do also realize that Gupta probably wasn’t seeing the live video of Biden either, to pick up on body language like anyone else would in person or from seeing both video feeds next to each other. Generally they have to look down to see a video feed (especially in current situation, where it might be a laptop screen). But he has to look straight forward “at the camera” that is probably on a tripod in front of him in his home. That’s going to result in some awkward facial expressions corresponding with more effort required to follow what someone is trying to say, especially when it’s unprepared remarks.
I’ve seen several of CNN’s anchors also comment on this awkwardness and apologized for their expressions that are caused due to the setup while doing interviews (with healthcare workers, doctors, survivors, governors, etc). It’s definitely not an occurrence unique to that one cherry-picked clip from a Biden interview.
IMO, Biden definitely rambles on some. It seems like at least his rambling isn’t complete off-the-wall nonsense like Rambler in Chief (which often directly conflicts with whatever else he just said). He didn’t even reference an uncle that used to work at Harvard having told him what a great idea he had.

OK, let’s wait for the debates and see what America thinks when Biden stumbles and goes into a fog on the stage with Trump. This assumes Biden is willing to emerge from his basement hidey hole and actually campaign and debate. I’m not at all certain that will happen, surely not any time soon. This pandemic has been a monstrous assist to Biden by offering him an excuse to avoid serious public scrutiny. And when he does do interviews . . . . . . . . OMG!
Maybe Biden will want a virtual debate. But you know, even that will not help when his old brain slips into neutral. Biden was not at all a strong POTUS candidate in 1988 or in 2008. Time’s passage has not strengthened his hand, quite the contrary. The American people rejected him back then; they will do so again.
Still, miracles have been known to happen. Should Trump pass away, Biden might win. You never know. But since Biden’s fossilized remains are unlikely to live out even a single term in office, his choice of VP running mate is the most important of any in a great many years.
I don’t have a bias for or against Dr. Gupta. I also did not watch the commentary, I only watched the actual CNN clip, thrice – first time to see everything, then two more to watch Gupta’s and Cooper’s faces. Their head and face barely moved, there is absolutely no indication of anyone being perplexed or coming to any kind of “realization” in this clip. While it’s obvious that Biden was looking for words (perhaps he was trying to remember the name of that WWII program) without taking a pause, your insinuation regarding the “expressions on the faces of Gupta and Cooper” is baseless bullshit.
For the loss you surely will suffer. You folks had a pretty rough go last time it happened back in 2016. In fact, I daresay you still have not recovered from that trauma.
You are correct, many have not, and never will recover from that trauma. It is inconceivable and unacceptable that such an obviously terrible human being should ever be elected to the highest office. Many (most?) politicians are terrible people in many aspects, but they’re never so obviously terrible in every aspect.

Hillary being elected president would have been a “trauma”… Trump being elected was shown as possible from various pollsters in the time running up to the election and was pretty much expected after Brexit. Too many dumb voters and too much free advertising given by the media to the Reality TV candidate. And Romney also at fault for changes to the Republican nomination process after 2012 that was rammed through to try to box out any Constitutionalist, Libertarian, or grass-roots power. This made the Reality TV and failed/scam businesses (Trump University? Trump Steaks?) name recognition a large advantage, aside from any other factors.

Nowhere did I say I’m a Republican now. They’d have to kick out the alt-right, and there’s been a refusal to kick out the minority racist/bigot fringe members currently in the “party”. Current officeholders have shown no spine in voting on the issues they ran on, they’re too scared about being attacked on Twitter and rightly scared of exposing their families to KKK death threats… I’m now strictly third party or democrat (if no competent other opposition running for the office).

In reality, the way the two party system works the only way you can have any influence on the outcome locally (with exception of a few “swing” states/areas) is to work within the majority party and try to push it in a direction you agree with. My current state will be changing from red to purple or blue in a few years (unless I move). Location I’m a resident of would determine what party, if any, I participate with. That’s the only logical way to approach things. I also am not planning to invest much time and effort into the process, the one cycle was enough.
Look, whatever damage you think Trump has done, it’s been multiplied exponentially by the constant attempts to publicly beat him down. No one is trying to beat him, y’all are hellbent on rendering him irrelevant and destroying the country in the process. There is no question that there would be literal parties in the streets should Trump die in office - that is the biggest problem right now. No matter how much you may hate the man, you still show respect for the office. No matter what.
Attacking politicians is an American tradition, all the time and from all sides. But it was obvious that while Obama has some obsessive opposition, his death would’ve been a somber, respectful occasion for all parties. Not a celebration.
