The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

How can anyone say what Bill Gates thinks? No one was asked if they thought it would happen, they were asked what Gates wants to do. It’s certainly reasonable to think that, in an ideal world, he could consider it beneficial. It doesnt even have to imply anything nefarious.

The results also indicate that 60% of the people given the option of “not sure” answered not sure. Half the people had to chose true or false, which skews those purple and red lines significantly - the indication is a full 30% of those purple and reds would’ve been white if given the choice.

I believe Joe Biden.

Biden is a hoot!! He should be hosting a late night TV show . .

from his basement!

Biden’s Basement rivals the old Filene’s Basement, strictly bargain goods at heavily discounted prices. Don’t miss it if you can.

About one hour from now, Sharyl Attkisson will be interviewing President Trump on her Sunday show, Full Measure.

I think she might have POTUS on for the entire half hour.

Beyond the hyperbole, I think it’s a very likely scenario in many states. Usually the number of absentee/mail ballots is not significant enough to impact the result. But this time could be different.

First, the numbers of mail voters will be vastly larger. There’s no way around it. Most people would rather not vote in person if they can safely avoid it. And most battleground states allow large amounts of their population to vote by mail without restrictions. If the margin in these states is thin, you could not call the race in that state until much later. It’d be like calling a tight race on 50% precincts reporting.

Secondly, we won’t know the extend of mail voting distribution immediately. If Democrats and Republicans vote by mail in different proportions, the usual estimates for calling election races could be totally off. I almost anticipate this disparity to happen. To lessen the blame on his administration, Trump has downplayed the COVID-19 crisis and I’d not be surprised if a large portion of his base voters didn’t emphasize voting by mail (outside of vulnerable populations I imagine). Vice versa, the media on the left has outlined how bad the crisis was - a fair tactic IMO since presidents get either too much praise or blame for what happens to the economy for example -. So Democrats may have their voters choose to vote by mail in larger proportions. And these proportions could even flip depending on how hard each specific State was hit by COVID-19 and how easy it was to vote by mail in the State. Bottom line, I can see a dozen purple States not be called for a few days.

Final twist, for those who remember the FL battle for hanging chads in 2000, I can totally see many State elections being contested on grounds of voter fraud. Especially if results break one way and then another way prior and after counting of mail ballots. Could easily get stretched into December if it’s as close as the 2000 election.

So I wouldn’t stay up late on Nov 3rd because I’m pretty sure it won’t be a landslide that can be called that night.

Edit: another take. Lol.

“While the coronavirus pandemic could make it difficult for Trump to find another state willing to hold the mass event, another clear hurdle stands in the president’s way: the fact that few states wanted to host the event in the first place.”

Voting Democrat for the last two hundred years, the Detroit edition. “It’s not voter fraud, it’s just incompetence at maintaining our voter rolls”.

The city had 511,786 registered voters as of the 2016 general election, according to Detroit election data, while the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey that year estimated Detroit only had 479,267 voting-age residents, the lawsuit said.

This year, analyzing the city’s official voter registration list from the state roll, Public Interest members “identified records listing years of birth indicating registrants of 105 years of age and older, with some records listing dates of birth in the nineteenth century. According to the foundation’s research, the oldest, active registrant in the city of Detroit was purportedly born in 1823, 14 years before Michigan was admitted to the Union as the 26th state,” according to the suit.

Through more research and further checking of Social Security and other records, the foundation also found “a significant number of deceased registrants whose registrations should have been canceled, but remain registered to vote in Detroit,” the suit reads.

I think the real question is, how many of those people showed up at that polls and cast a vote? Because while it opens the door for potential fraud, it isnt itself fraud.

I think for the most part they do just suck at keeping track of people who die or move away.

The 6% discrepancy on the ACS doesn’t shock me. I remember reading that only 2/3rd of people bother to fill the surveys and the quality of responses skew considerably with income level (high income generally higher quality). So in Detroit, it may not be very reliable. Plus, the smaller the area the larger the uncertainty. I remember that for some surveys, margin of error could be up to 30% so I don’t know how significant that is a difference.

But the age thing and registered voters with birth date in the 19th century is damning. Any voter over age 120 should no longer be allowed to vote automatically. Even if by chance they are still alive, I’d question their ability to make an informed decision on vote. But come on, how can someone still be registered at 197? There should be in place some mechanism to purge those voters that can no longer be alive from the roll.

Plus it’s a bit worrisome if alerted about potential voter registration errors, the officials did not seem to care about addressing the concerns. Optics are definitely not good on how responsible and competent these guys are.

To be fair, I’ll refrain from commenting on the capacities of officials in the State up North… but I’ll let glitch99 do it for me:

From the Wall Street Journal:

The ‘Liberal Leaning’ Media Has Passed Its Tipping Point

A return to balance would be commercially unviable. The best solution may be an honest embrace of bias.

By Van Gordon Sauter

May 25, 2020 2:21 pm ET

About 35 years ago I was sitting at lunch next to Jeane Kirkpatrick, a one time Democrat who became a foreign-policy adviser to President Reagan and later U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. She was lamenting what she called the “liberal leaning” media. As the president of CBS News, I assured her it was only a “liberal tilt” and could be corrected.

“You don’t understand,“ she scolded. “It’s too late.”

Kirkpatrick was prophetic. The highly influential daily newspapers in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Boston are now decidedly liberal. On the home screen, the three broadcast network divisions still have their liberal tilt. Two of the three leading cable news sources are unrelentingly liberal in their fear and loathing of President Trump.

News organizations that claim to be neutral have long been creeping leftward, and their loathing of Mr. Trump has accelerated the pace. The news media is catching up with the liberalism of the professoriate, the entertainment industry, upscale magazines and the literary world. Recent arrivals are the late-night TV hosts who have broken the boundaries of what was considered acceptable political humor for networks.

To many journalists, objectivity, balance and fairness—once the gold standard of reporting—are not mandatory in a divided political era and in a country they believe to be severely flawed. That assumption folds neatly into their assessment of the president. To the journalists, including more than a few Republicans, he is a blatant vulgarian, an incessant prevaricator, and a dangerous leader who should be ousted next January, if not sooner. Much of journalism has become the clarion voice of the “resistance,” dedicated to ousting the president, even though he was legally elected and, according to the polls, enjoys the support of about 44% of likely 2020 voters.

This poses significant problems not only for Mr. Trump but for the media’s own standing. If Mr. Trump prevails in November, what’s the next act, if any, for journalists and the resistance? They will likely find Mr. Trump more dangerous and offensive in a second term than in the first.

More important, how will a large segment of the public ever put stock in journalism it considers hostile to the country’s best interests? Unfortunately, dominant media organizations have bonded with another large segment of the public—one that embraces its new approach. Pulling back from anti-Trump activism could prove commercially harmful.

On the other hand, how would the media respond to a Joe Biden victory (beyond exhilaration)? Will Mr. Biden be subjected to the rigor and skepticism imposed on Mr. Trump? Will he get a pass because he is a liberal and “not Trump”? The media’s protective coverage of the sexual-assault allegation against Mr. Biden is perhaps a clear and concerning preview to how his presidency would be covered.

The media seems uninterested in these issues of bias. But wouldn’t a softening of its editorial orientation bring new readers or viewers? Probably not. The growth of new customers would be more than offset by the defection of outraged members of the current audience. The news media seems very comfortable with its product and ability to sell it.

There’s probably no way to seal the gap between the media and a large segment of the public. The media likes what it is doing. Admires it. Celebrates it. There is no personal, professional or financial reason to change. If anything, the gap will expand. Ultimately, the media finds the “deplorables” deplorable.

Dan Abrams, ABC’s chief legal-affairs anchor and founder of the website Mediaite, has a novel but valuable idea for the media—candor. Speaking to the matter at February’s Rancho Mirage Writers Festival, Mr. Abrams said “I think the first thing that would help . . . is to admit . . . that the people in the media are left of center.”

It would be delightful if a publisher, an editor, a reporter, would just say: Yes, I am left of center! I’m proud of it. I think our reporting is accurate. It best serves the public. And the credibility of the media. So there!

Publications open about their bias might feel freer to focus on the specifics: story selection, presentation, facts, fairness, balance. Not devoid of subtlety for sure, but manageable.

Journalism affects social cohesion. Convinced of its role and its legitimacy, however, the media doesn’t seem to much care. And the other side can certainly enjoy throwing rotten tomatoes at distant targets.

But America won’t reunite until far more people can look at a news story in print or on the screen and, of all things, believe it.

Mr. Sauter was president of CBS News, 1982-83 and 1986.

While all US mainstream media today leans heavily left, CNN and Newsweek possess perhaps the most exaggerated left-leaning stances. It’s no wonder, therefore, why you rely on them (not solely, of course) for your version of the “news”.

Somebody let Biden out of his basement!

Biden was out earlier today. He wore a black mask and dark sunglasses. Only thing showing of his face was his huge forehead. You had to see it. It was an absolute HOOT!!

Biden travelled all the way to Delaware to honor our nation’s fallen. The old man was at least ten miles from his basement, farthest he has travelled in three months. If Biden wins in November, most he will do on Air Force One is to circle the airport. Foreign travel will be too burdensome for him. All the world’s leaders will have to come to Washington, DC, instead, to visit with him.

Old Joe Biden, what a joke!!

Plainly written & oh so true!!

Makes me wonder how Trump ever won in 2016. So how does he have a chance in 2020, the media hasn’t changed? With a boob such as Biden running, impossible that liberal leaning folks can’t see such a flaw.

The Democrats have fired every weapon they have at Trump in an effort to take him out. Nothing worked.

Then for them a Godsend: the COVID-19 virus moved in.

It was working. The virus, earlier this year, actually caused the DJIA to fall all the way back to horrendous Obama era levels.

But this Democrat virus salve might have arrived too early. Trump has been fighting back on behalf of the American people. The unnecessary and destructive Democrat economic strictures, imposed by Obama but eradicated by Trump, remain in the trash can. “America first” continues to be in effect, and America under Trump cannot be stopped, not even by a horrid Chinese virus the Democrats are fear mongering with every ounce of political energy they can muster.

Good wins out over evil. Capitalism wins out over socialism and communism.

File this under Joe Biden in his own words:

“I’m gonna beat Joe Biden”

Yes, Biden actually claims he will defeat himself!

Know what? I believe the Vice President on this, and I agree with him. Here is the clip:

Joe Biden says he will defeat Joe Biden!!

Just saw 4 “body language specialist” talk.

They gave their take on the interview of Biden trying to defend himself against Tara R claim. Lying in so many ways. No way was he telling the truth.

Makes me a believer…

Notice the mainstream media has dropped all that Tara stuff. Had it been Trump they would still be talking about it and trying to tar and feather Trump with it. But when it is their candidate . . well . . the rules and standards are different. Typical liberal mainstream media bias.

Always believe the woman . . . . except when a Democrat is the accused.

Here was the more detailed version of Tara Reade’s account.

There is so much misbehavior among men in particular, and even some women. In politics you have to draw a line somewhere. Look at the bad behavior while the person was in office. No misbehavior is a good thing. But when it happens following election to high office . . well . . that is especially unacceptable.

Trump was a well known playboy. Nobody ever confused him with any choir boy, that’s for certain. He allegedly did things in the past which were immoral. But he was not in office, he was not even in politics, back in those days. He was a private citizen.

Biden committed his alleged offenses as an elected, sitting member of the United States Senate. As such he should have been adhering to a higher standard of personal conduct. He failed to meet that standard.

Here are the names of four prominent “Republicans”:

Chuck Hagel
Chesley Sullenberger
Anthony Scaramucci
James Comey

What do these “Republicans” have in common?

They all support Joe Biden for POTUS.

Absentee ballot fraud already showing up. The post office mail carrier has been charged with altering the forms.
