The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Seizing on Democrats’ return to power, Iran’s terrorist regime has signaled that it is willing to return to the 2015 nuclear deal — if President Biden meets certain preconditions, of course. But as desperate as Biden is to resuscitate that bad and ineffective agreement, he must recognize that Iran is in no position to demand anything. Rather than give concessions for free, he should approach the process with demands of his own because Iran will feel compelled to make a new deal.

After four years of former President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign, the Iranian economy is in shambles. Iran’s exports of goods, including critical oil supplies, have plummeted to nearly zero. Its trade with the European Union has collapsed. Its currency is in free fall, inflation is soaring, and unemployment is above 10% (and much higher among the young). President Hassan Rouhani this week had his budget rejected by parliament.

Rouhani, who faces reelection in June, is under immense pressure to deliver economic relief quickly. Biden should not even consider helping him deliver that relief unless Iran agrees to a new deal that fixes the fundamental flaws in the old one.

At present, Iran is operating in breach of its obligations under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action nuclear accord. Having installed advanced centrifuges, it is conducting enrichment activity at the 20% purity level, which is far higher than the 3.67% cap imposed under the deal. Secretary of State Antony Blinken suggested this week that Iran’s “break out” time to produce sufficiently enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon might now be as short as three months. Although Israel’s energy minister says it’s more like six months, with an additional year to develop a weapons platform, Biden should recognize that the circumstances of 2021 will not tolerate the culpable delusions of Ben Rhodes and John Kerry in 2015

– Washington Examiner

The problem for Biden is that John Kerry is part of his administration. And John Kerry is a certifiable dunce, but especially regarding Iran. Sure I realize Kerry is no longer at State. But he is around. And that is bad enough.

I make a lot of sense, something I know you would emulate if only you had the capability.

I’m not going to stoop to your level of argument on this.

OK. But why did it take you at least ten minutes to come up with that pithy retort?

Presumably because the forum window was open on the side while I was doing something else.

But interesting to see that you’re digging in deeper on this.

Oh, yes. Of course that was it!

I don’t write the forum software, so I don’t know what the algorithm is to show whether a reply is in progress or not.

I hope that when I’m your age I have healthier ways to amuse myself than being a troll on an internet forum.

I heard a new one today from a “relative”. “This new criminal president-- blah blah blah – they’ve proven Obama isn’t an American citizen – Biden and the democrats are blocking the minimum wage increase. We need a $19 minimum wage! Also I already received a letter, Biden’s raised our health insurance costs!!”

Biden won the election . . won the election . . won the election . .

There is no doubt . . no doubt . . no doubt . . none at all . .

Trump’s victory claims are unproven … unproven . . unproven . . cannot be proven . .

Now, reality:

Maricopa County board refuses to turn over election equipment for Arizona Senate audit

Maricopa County refuses to turn over elections equipment and ballots from the November general election to the Arizona Senate, escalating a fight between the dueling government bodies over election integrity oversight.

The Board of Supervisors, which announced its audit of the county’s election machines on Jan. 27, missed a Tuesday noon deadline to comply with a Senate subpoena following a meeting with the board’s attorneys, a local Fox affiliate reported.

Biden won, no question. And “no question” means nobody is permitted to question Biden’s win.

For both sides of the discussion, fast food (where product volume is very high and labor doesn’t make up the majority of expenses) is probably not the most informative place to draw conclusions about the potential impact of raising minimum wage.

I’d be interested in reading a more detailed dive into the grocery or retail aspect, since I’m less familiar with how much of their costs is labor, and staffing levels are presumably more flexible than fast food.

Low volume / boutique retail is probably the retail sector that gets hit hardest by changes like that, though.

That’s a pretty big assumption there, pardner.

Given the liberal notions you and your fellow travellers support, I don’t rate your chances as all that great. Still, I hope you make it. Perhaps you will live long enough to realize the errors in your current ways of thinking. I hope so.

You really are heavy on assumptions. I thought your generation had a catchy saying about that, that was even still around when I was a kid.

You will have a difficult time finding here anything whatsoever positive I have to say about California or the liberal crazies who live there. This is the exception:

Kudos to Californians who are openly expressing their dissatisfaction with Governor Newsom. I’m unable to join with you on the specifics because I do not know what they are or understand them. Instead, I want to use your good sense to highlight a contrast:

Consider New York State, another liberal state. New York’s Governor Cuomo killed thousands of senior citizens and since has engaged in a cover up of his malfeasance. While I do not know the specifics regarding Newsom, how much worse than Cuomo can he be?!

But unlike in California where people clearly have some sense regarding Newsom, New Yorkers still stupidly support Cuomo, their killer hero. Newsom should enjoy such good fortune!

Fox News, Giuliani and right wingers are doing their best to destroy American businesses, but American businesses fight back against the lies:

Well, the Republicans just gave Rep. Greene a standing ovation, so the GOP is now full steam ahead on being the GQP.

The Democrats are playing with fire and I’m disappointed with what they did.

Greene is kooky/wacky based on her utterances in the past. Problem is, there have been Democrats, too, who have said nutty stuff. And the Democrats are close to losing control of the House come 2022.

I do not want us to get into a situation where the controlling party cancels committee assignments for nutty members of the party not in control. That is the kind of tit-for-tat crapola that can go on forever. It’s already happening in the realm of impeachment. It is bad for the country.

Which of those do you feel isnt cray cray? The 9-11 was an inside job? No plane crashed into the Pentagon? Chasing David Hogg around saying Parkland was a hoax? The Jewish space lasers? All of them together?

They should remove everyone from committees who voted to keep her on them.

There is no Republican party anymore. Dispense with providing the Qanon party half the committee slots, it’s not a valid custom to continue.

I often wonder whether crazy people think they’re normal, ugly people think they’re good looking, and idiots think they’re smarter than everyone else. I think many of them do.
