Some of the children told attorneys that they’ve been there for a week or more in direct violation of the agency’s three-day limit for detaining child migrants.
Despite concerns about the coronavirus, the children are kept so closely together that they can touch the person next to them , the lawyers said. Some have to wait five days or more to shower, and there isn’t always soap available, just shampoo, according to the lawyers. President Joe Biden’s administration denied the lawyers access to the tent facility.

And if you consider discussing the problems we’re having at the border on Twitter, don’t even think about it since that’s “hateful” and got the ex House Speaker banned for calling attention to the fact they weren’t testing all these undocumented non-citizens for covid before being released into the country and told to try to quarantine, or something.
there was no reason to censor my tweet or lock my account. Nothing in the flagged tweet “promotes violence against, threatens, or harasses” anyone. It is simply pointing out the fact that those entering the country illegally are not tested for COVID-19 and could be a health risk.
Without elaborating, the company maintained that my tweet had broken its rules. As I told Mediaite on Friday, I fail to see how drawing attention to the public health dangers of massive illegal immigration during a pandemic can be censored.

Biden and his team of open border enthusiasts have sought from the jump to create a border “crisis” in order to bolster phony need for new, far more permissive, immigration legislation.
The obvious solution of discouraging and rejecting new illegals is no solution at all when you actually want them here. The largest surprise so far is Biden’s failure to tear down President Trump’s wall. Maybe they are leaving that act for Harris to accomplish after she takes over.

Very concerning news reaching me only this morning. Apologies in advance to pattyb53, xerty, and other Trump supporters posting here. This is condemning of Trump. Have to tell the truth:
Trump promised us an effective border wall. But he also bragged his wall would feature gated openings which, when open, would allow people and commerce to pass through. And Trump was good to his word. Unfortunately.
Following his election loss early last November, Trump sought to complete as many miles of wall as he could before twentieth of January. The efforts were frantic, and many additional miles of wall were constructed. But there was a very serious wrinkle, and it concerns those promised gated openings.
Yes, the wall went up apace. But the gates did not materialize prior to January twentieth. This left numerous large, wide open, gaps in the wall on the day Biden took over and halted all activity. With so many open gaps, existence of the wall itself became meaningless.
The Trump failure
Biden’s disdain for the wall was well known in advance. Everyone knew. Trump knew. What Trump should have done was to focus less on extending the wall and more on installing those gates in order to close so many gaps in the wall. Instead what Trump did, nearly exclusively, was to pursue a hopeless, Quixotic fight against the election outcome.
Walls work. Where completely finished Trump’s wall has helped immensely with border control. Walls with large gaps do not work. They are a joke.
I do not blame Biden for this. He wants open borders and everyone is/was aware of that. Trump was aware. But Trump never took care, following the election, to seal off all those wall gaps with gates. And now they will remain wide open for at least the next four years.
Trump let us down.

I concede to Trump supporters that, had he won the election, this all would have unfolded far differently. The gaps would have been closed by installation of the gates Trump intended all along. I make no challenge to that. However:
Trump clearly never planned for what might happen if he lost the election. I believe we all realize that losing and defeat do not occupy, and never have occupied, any portion of Trump’s thinking. He intended to win and to complete the wall. Period. There was no “plan B”. But there should have been.
When you see those home owner’s that live along the border, telling their stories, it makes me sick.
Those folks have the Trump border wall part completed, now abandoned. A couple last night saying there is a hole along his property left for the wall. Illegals crossing nightly.
Such a shame & Biden fails to even say there is a crises along the border. Those owner’s that live along the border deserve protection. No help coming from the Biden administration.
There go those white Supremacists are trying to overthrow the government, storming into federal buildings, destroying property, and encouraging an attitude of lawlessness. Is it a coup or an insurrection? Biden stands by with no comment. Where are the national guard and domestic terrorism laws when you need them?

I suspect MN will discover that paying off Floyd’s family to the tune of $27M will not be enough to stop his supporters from inflicting hundreds of millions of dollars in peaceful protests on their city when the not guilty verdict comes out. Meanwhile, BLM has been nominated for several peace prizes.
The Nobel Committee has announced they have nominated Black Lives Matter for the brand new Nobel “Mostly Peaceful” Prize for its hard work bringing attention to racism by burning down cities around the world.
“No one has done more to contribute to the cause of ‘mostly peace’ than Black Lives Matter,” said Norwegian MP Petter Eide. “They brought attention to racism, and they did it while mostly not being criminal terrorists!”

You misunderstood what I wrote but proved the point of what I was saying in your response regarding your husband mowing lawns.
Work is not necessary for self-actualization or self dignity. Even a good role model (which definitely helps) isn’t necessary, as pointed out by the news who often do stories on people who’ve had terrible upbringings but who are now successful members of society. In fact, the whole “work is necessary for self actualization/self dignity” idea implies that those who can’t work (like the disabled) can not be self actualized/have self dignity, which is quite the slippery slope.

Jubilation this morning coming from (the Canadian province of) Ontario. Big first time announcement:
Anyone eighty (80) years old or older may now finally register and make an appointment to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Younger persons will be taken care of soon, in the upcoming weeks, as more vaccine becomes available.
Canadians have Trudeau, a socialist with European leanings, to thank for this level of attention to their pressing needs. Thank God we had Trump, instead.
Things would be very different here today had there been no operation warp speed. Trump had it figured out, but the positive outcome did not materialize in time to save him on election day.
And speaking of Europe, they’re not doing so well against the virus today either. They have a mess on their hands . . . again!!

Biden has finally summoned the courage to express an opinion on the Cuomo fiasco:
Biden says we should wait for the outcome of the investigation, which has only just begun and can consume at least a couple of months!
Sure, Joe. I mean, you and Cuomo are brothers when it comes to taking advantage of high office to abuse women. Right? You two guys are on the very same page.
So what the heck, you’re gonna recommend for Cuomo the same treatment you yourself hope to receive when your time comes. Let time pass, let things cool off . . . right? And then after passions have settled down, maybe Cuomo somehow survives. And maybe you will, too.
When it comes to abuse of women by men in high elected office, rely on Biden’s perspective and his eager willingness to do the right thing.
