The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Well, when someone sends me an envelope with a real stamp I have been known to remove that stamp and use it elsewhere.

Truth is, you can do the same with metered envelopes except you have to white out or cover up the pre-printed return address, and then readdress the piece . . . . which is less convenient. But I’ve done that, too.

I have never tried to cut out a metered indicia, though, for use on a different envelope. Not sure that would fly.

I’m pretty sure they could easily set up some sort of retroactive billing. “Free” metering, then bill based on the count of ballots that are actually returned. Besides the Shinobis of the world (repurposing postage is a crime), the ballot count should be a fair representation of the metered envelopes used.

Of course, I doubt the post office would be that flexible, given the specific issue being addressed and the current administration’s opinion towards it.

Oh, puh-lease!! Give it up and give me a break.

You raise “holier than thou” to an artform.

Oh, lighten up. It is what it is, I wasn’t lecturing you about anything.

Besides, Postal Inspectors and IRS CID agents are the two investigative agencies I don’t want to have anything to do with.

It’s interesting that they linked Swan’s interview tone to Wallace’s. I thought exactly the same watching them. That the interviewers were much more ready to push back on unclear or unverified statements by Trump. A bit more fact-checking the interviewee than in previous interviews. I think this should be the standard for the debates as well. Neither candidate should be be allowed to spew vague nonsense and not get challenged by the moderator/interviewer. I think it also helps make the point for the candidates on topics where they get their facts right. If they get challenged, viewers not knowledgeable with the specific issue may realize that the candidates claims are not as truthful as they may appear.

The only issue with this is ensuring that the moderator/interviewer does a decently fair job at fact-checking. I thought Wallace and Swan were pretty good which made a difference in terms of quality of the interview.

But at the same time, while Trump is getting grilled - justifiably -, where are the similar interviews with Biden? Let’s have him sit down with Wallace and Swan (or similar interviewers). All we got was a very highly produce chat with Obama who can hardly be considered an impartial fact-checker. I’m hoping we get to see more interviews like those from Biden after the convention. There’s only that long he can hide in his basement before he has to come out to defend his platform.

“Like a good uh-brain. Cognitively there.”
“Every American has truly a duty to preserve this wonderous inherence.” (Talk about slurred speech… But no instead there are manipulated showed down videos of Pelosi to create fake slurred speech)

(Yes, relatively unimportant, but come on… And the most minor Biden mispronunciation is always repeated and the video manipulated and deceptively spliced ad-nauseam.)

Nothing from Biden!!.. Poor boy, so afraid. (his production staff can’t take a chance to let him out)

Biden just had another interview released today.

He has interviews often, repeatedly falsely stating there are none doesn’t make it so. Sure, it’s unlikely he’ll be on FOX or OANN anytime soon…

He does also seem to favor mainly targeted local news interviews in different states or interviews for different groups rather than stage “big media” interviews. But wouldn’t you seem to like that better because “Big media” is supposed to all be “fake news”, isn’t it? Or is that just the cognitive dissonance no one is allowed to mention?

Also, linked from one of those articles,

“President Donald Trump’s attacks on Joe Biden’s health are increasing, but a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows voters actually see both men as similarly healthy, with more saying Trump’s health is poorer than Biden’s

One more thing… Remember Obama’s talking about the “Marine Corps”?

Now Trump is criticized for suggesting he wont travel anywhere to accept the Republican nomination, and will instead just stay home and give his acceptance speech from the White House.

If anything, he just sped it up. They’ve been headed in that direction for as long as I can remember. HHH was a liberal. Today, RINOs would turn their back on him for being too conservative. :slightly_frowning_face:

You’ve got to start thinking. :->
The push for voting by mail is to make up for Joe not being able to win the election. It’s much easier to stuff envelopes than ballot boxes. :slightly_smiling_face:

Regardless of postmark, or lack there-of, can’t you already hear the cries of all of the people being disenfranchised because their postman (kind of like John Kasich’s father) fell ill from the coronavirus (which was a vast right wing plot manufactured and distributed by Trump and the Russians)?

How heartless are you to not count votes, legitimate or not? :upside_down_face:

Which is why I stuff junk mail paid reply envelopes with lead and and a polite “No Thanks”.

Good grief!
If Trump goes first, Biden will never get a question. The moderator will spend the entire time debating Trump’s answer.
If Biden goes first, Trump will never get a question because the moderator will never know if Biden’s answered the question.

I wish they would make the raw, unedited footage available.

He almost always answers.

Problem is that often it’s just “doing more of the same thing as we did when I was vice president.”

But, of course that makes sense to stick to for the answers since the Obama presidency was comparatively so much more respectable, with only a comparatively tiny list of sore spots. So the not-really-an-answer works as a low-risk option.

Actually it’s not. In CA, the envelope containing the ballot must be signed, and the signature must closely match the one they have on file (from your voter registration). I’ve had my ballot rejected because I didn’t sign carefully enough.
