Well they can manipulate our currency’s value anonymously too in the FX markets, but those are bigger and harder to push around. I guess you’re just not young and forward thinking enough to appreciate this (and me neither):
“We are going to win bigly with the Hawk Tuah Coin,” President Trump from the Oval Office. “America has the best memecoins in the whole world, and now our big, beautiful economy will be strengthened with this digital gold backing everything up. Digital gold, they call it. Everybody is calling it that.”
It’s also harder to hide hoarding/unloading billions of real currency on the FX markets. And like you mentioned, the size of the purchases required to move the needle of very stable currencies like the USD makes it harder to pull off. And only a few players in the world have the cashflow to do it too. Much lower market manipulation thresholds with crypto.
I’d stick to real gold if I looked for a relatively reliable store of value for the time being.
Doge axed it as a waste of time? Nay that’d make too much sense. I don’t know, maybe he’s all tied up in efforts to wreck our previously solid-economy… You can’t expect him to have time for that while manufacturing a budding stagflation “transition” from good to worse in two months.
I’m suggesting it was there, reason why we stopped hearing about this topic. Same reason we stopped hearing about the $50 million in condoms for Hamas.
There’s a dude having a hard time getting rid of a gold (golden? gilded?) Cybertruck. It just screams “winning at life” a little too loud for the liberal nazi-haters. Perfect for the gold (golden? gilded?) man.
The Cybertruck is so obnoxious. The first one I saw was ahead of me in the line up at “In-an-out”. I asked the guy taking orders if the car ahead was a “home made” car. He just laughed. The red Tesla the President was looking at is OK…
