Fido is not sending your/my funds to a third party fintech who then directs it to a FDIC insured bank. I checked before opening my CMA account and have dutifully read all Fido updates. It was a shock, though, to learn on this board that they had some significant losses/scams in their ACH practices … thought they were smarter than that.

Barclays has a new(ish?) “Tiered Savings” account with a better rate (4.5% < $250K, 4.8% >= $250K) than their regular OSA (4.1%).

And a $200 bonus if you put $25k in it. Shockingly, the rate hasn’t been dropping the past month unlike others.
$200 Bonus Offer: To qualify for this bonus offer, you must be a new Barclays Tiered Savings customer (current and previous Barclays customers with a Savings or CD are not eligible)
Yup. Churners need not apply. Some aren’t partaking because they might have a better offer in the future.
It’s decent for holding $25k for 4 months assuming their rate stays at 4.5%. Kinda rich for getting the 4.8% rate though but may be worth it while it lasts.

OpenBank is a division of Santander. They are currently offering 5% APY and full FDIC insurance. What piqued my interest on this account is the free incoming and outgoing wires. As far as I can tell, there is no limit as of yet on either the number of wires or the transaction amount.
They are available outside of the Santander branch footprint, which consists of most of the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic US. I will probably get an account although I consider the 5% more of a teaser rate that is likely to decline below competitors given some time.
Anyone with experience with Everbank?
No personal experience, but this deposit accounts blog post (https://www.depositaccounts.com/blog/personal-banking-101-savings-accounts.html) compares and contrasts its savings with other savings accounts.
Yes I have Everbank. For years it had been TIAA bank. I transferred over to Everbank several months ago.
No problems… Has a fair Savings rate 4.8%. It’s my cash account and makes easy transfers. Very dependable!

You made me aware that my EverBank Savings account has dropped down to 4.40%. Kind of a shock! But looks like many other Banks & Credit Unions are also in the same boat.
I’ve been with TIAA/EverBank so many years that I don’t plan to make a move now.
So where do you others keep your cash accounts?
