You all know that credit unions are not-for-profit socialist institutions, right?
Yes, I was talking about domestic ATM fees but they do refund international as well, all up to $20 a month. They do pass along the 1% VISA foreign transaction fee for purchases however.
Great information… I stick to my comment regarding democratic presidential candidates.
Oh no! Please say it isn’t so.
Doesn’t surprise me. Are you done?
Betterment’s 2.68% account is down to 2.44% literally 2 weeks after promoting the 2.68% rate everywhere. At least with banks/credit unions you don’t get whiplash that quickly.
Both betterment and wealthfront went down within like a day or two of the FED rate change. Both have always said they’re tied to the FED rate, so it shouldn’t be a surprise.
That implies that she is pretending. I think it’s more likely that she doesn’t consciously realize how much of a socialist she really is. And probably doesn’t know the meaning of the word. The dictionary definition of “socialist” or “socialism” is not nuanced enough to know what Democratic Socialism is or that she’s been living under it her entire life.
She’s just very good at quoting the rhetoric Trump is known for saying, then again so was the shooter in El Paso.
I give up! You 2 have figured me out.
If this is the case then there is only one thing I can do now. Get rid of our guns (many very old inherited & valuable) toss out my MEGA hat & get on with life.
I’m now an angry conservative that can’t wait for this election. (Will I be allowed to stay with Fragile as you all know the “real me”.
Alright 14 posts about politics and not best nationally available high apy liquid accounts, can we get back on topic everyone?
Why do you need to ACH everyday?!?
I don’t like Alliant’s semi-recent $25k max on external transfers. I don’t remember that in the past.
Just got a lot of stuff going on. 25+ linked accounts, etc…
Agree about the $25k limit. For that problem I have PurePoint.
The MEGA hat is so '90s. Not even GIGA will do. It’s TERA now, PETA likely in the next decade, and in a few decades it’ll be Mad Max and Waterworld outfits for everyone.
Argyll, you might be right… but, I could never go for socialized medicine.
Will you guys please stop baiting pattyb53 and go amuse yourselves someplace else. It is especially shameful when the OP joins in the game. Take some responsibility for your thread and getting it back on topic. This is a really good and important thread. You can discuss politics on the off topic board all day long. Please refrain from doing so here absent any tie-in whatsoever to liquid accounts.
No penalty CD (NPCD) accounts are liquid accounts after the first several days. In a post earlier today, Ken pointed his readers to a compendium of NPCD accounts. Rates are falling and the compendium was last updated back on August seventh. Please be aware of that. However this offering over on Ken’s website might nevertheless be of interest to, and worth a read by, liquid money fans:
Yes please! I don’t care who’s next president anywhere as much as I care about my net worth and future rates.
Speaking of rates, I can see Trump pushing for lower rates to support the economy but why would he want them higher afterwards? A lot of his (real estate) business involves borrowing so it’d make sense that he’d want the low rates to continue as long as possible.
Anyway, to be fair there’s not a whole lot of leeway to go for the Fed. The current rates are about as low as they’ve been since the 60s with exception of early 2000s. Even then, I don’t see them ticking back up any time soon. That would require a big uptick in inflation and a booming economy. I see more stagflation trends than super growth, especially in a global context. China is slowing down a lot. Europe is already looking in recession before no-deal Brexit even happens in 3 months. So hard to see lots of growth and thus inflation in the near future. And if economy falters (like it always has after a period of yield inversion), they are sure to go the way they went in Europe I think. Hopefully not as bad as Germany though.
I like the 2.50 % at Northern thru 12/31. Popular Direct is at 2.55 but no guarantee how long. I sent 15k to Popular via Alliant, on 8/5 8/12/and 8/13. All the funds were deducted from Alliant, but yet only the first 5k shows up at Popular. Northern the funds show up in 2 days.
