Wrong experts! Don’t listen to those guys with Noble prizes in physics. They don’t know anything about how to gin up a political emergency.
Earlier this month, the 2022 Nobel Physics Laureate Dr. John Clauser slammed the ‘climate emergency’ narrative as a “dangerous corruption of science that threatens the world’s economy and the well-being of billions of people”. Inevitably, the punishments have begun. A talk that Dr. Clauser was due to give to the International Monetary Fund on climate models has been abruptly cancelled, and the page announcing the event removed from the IMF site.
Dr. Clauser was due to speak to the IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office this Thursday under the title: “Let’s talk – How much can we trust IPCC climate predictions?” It would appear that “not a lot” isn’t the politically correct answer.
Clauser is the latest Nobel physics laureate to dismiss the notion of a climate crisis. Professor Ivar Giaever, a fellow laureate, is the lead signatory of the World Climate Declaration that states there is no climate emergency. It further argues that climate models are “not remotely plausible as global policy tools”. The 1998 winner Professor Robert Laughlin has expressed the view that the climate is “beyond our power to control” and humanity cannot and should not do anything to respond to climate change.

Some science instead of sensationalism about the heat wave. It is not caused by carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Thank the huge volcanic eruption last year.
Curiously the media has neglected to report several studies in the scientific literature over the last several months that posit the dramatic Hunga-Tonga volcano eruption in the South Pacific last year, which is estimated to have injected 40 trillion gallons of water vapor (a significant warming agent in our climate system) into the upper atmosphere might, in the words of Nature Climate Change, “increase the net radiative forcing. . . increasing the chance of the global surface temperature anomaly temporarily exceeding 1.5 degrees C over the coming decade.”
Science magazine separately reported that the Hunga-Tonga eruption may have increased upper atmospheric water vapor by as much as 5 percent, while a European study thought the increase in water vapor might be as high as 13 percent. While this effect will be temporary—just as Mount Pinatubo’s 1992 eruption cooled the planet by almost a degree for 18 months on account of its massive ejection of sulfate particles into the high atmosphere—might it account for slightly elevated heat waves this summer? (Hunga-Tonga emitted less than 2 percent as much sulfate as Pinatubo, which is why it does not portend any offsetting cooling effects.) You can count on this possible factor in this summer’s heat being suppressed in the media and by the climate enforcers.

The formula is simple: Take an extreme temperature limited to a period of a few days from only one extremely tiny location, then encourage click-bait media to push the narrative that it represents the climate crisis caused by CO2 and threatening the whole earth.
A buoy in Manatee Bay managed by the Everglades National Park, is located north of Key Largo and indicated by the 2 red arrows in illustrations below. The official buoy data (upper left graph) shows water temperatures bounced between ~90°F and ~101 on consecutive two days then plummeted to 85-86°F over the following days! Clearly those water temperatures were being driven by dynamics other than rising CO2.

I recruited a friend to Dallas in the late 70’s/early 80’s. His first summer included 100+ days of 100°+ highs and 90°+ lows. Obviously, this was before hot summers became a rallying cry for the “oh, the humanity” needists. Otherwise, every buckle in I-30, I-20, I-35 (E&W) and I-45 would have been promulgated as another religious sign that the end is near , sky is falling seas are rising. Max Goldblatt would have gotten his Disneyland monorail and helicopters with magnets. The freeways would be clear.

This is called anecdotal evidence for one time, one place. The entire planet is at or near record highs this summer. This could, I suppose, also be anecdotal, if it wasn’t getting worse every year.
Fortunately, it’s only the coverage that’s getting worse. Otherwise, Chicken Little’s sky would have started hitting people’s heads five years ago.

Being near record highs invalidates claims that it’s getting worse every year. Near record highs necessarily means that it has been worse in the past, otherwise there wouldnt be record highs to be near.
How come the validation of global warming always rests solely on the temperature? Most arguments debunking it do not even disagree that the world has been getting a bit warmer lately, the argument focuses more on the fact we arent responsible for it and the warming cycle is a rather natural occurance that’s happened before and will happen again no matter what we do. Yet the rebuttle is always some form of “But the temp is warmer than last year so you are obviously lying!”

From what I’ve seen, those arguments have no teeth. The natural cycles of the past have never been anything like the current cycle in terms of both, the actual temperature and the rate of increase.
The temps being “at or near” record highs with all the records having been set very recently. Zoom out a few years and the average is a new record for that span.

This is not correct, but it is fruitless to argue about it here. It is a complex scientific question where I doubt we will be able to convince each other. Say, for the sake of argument, that we accept that the root of all evil is increased emissions of carbon dioxide on the Earth. What do we do about it?
I think a very good solution is nuclear power, but as I recall, you are phobic about it. What is your proposed solution? This is probably not a good thread for that discussion. The Green energy thread is better. But I think it’s a good discussion to have, regardless of where it is discussed.

If you’re not concerned with human life, yet insist on blaming human life for the supposed evil of global warming, the answer seems obvious - nuke the highest populations. Facetious, yes, but so is the idea that we are the cause.
