Isn't Credit Karma supposed to be free?

I just got this email from notifications@savings3.creditkarma.com

No I didn’t click on it.

OK, rereading it a second time, I gather they are saying the annual fee on a Capital One Spark credit card is due soon. First off, I don’t have an annual fee on my card, and second, if I did, why is CK notifying me about it?

I think one or more of the Capital One Spark cards has an annual fee. One or more may waive the fee the first year only. You might want to check to verify. With regard to why CK is notifying you, it’s likely as a friendly reminder to look into it.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Cap1 card, but I vaguely recall having a card from someone that had no annual fee, but they did in fact process a “charge” of $0 annually.

I get 2% cash back every month on everything I buy. Never an annual fee. Maybe they added the annual fee later but I’ve never had to pay that.

None of my friends are as nosy or as annoying as CK

I think Spark Cash Plus has always had AF. Currently it’s $150, but refunded if you spend $150K/yr.

How does one spend $150K/yr on a business credit card? I cant imagine too many vendors will accept large payments and the associated fees they incur. Heck, many places here say, 3% service charge on all credit card payments.
