Oops! Almost forgot … what about the mining of the minerals required for “new generation”, “healthy”, “safe” solar/wind/family “environmentally” friendly endorsed/bought power?
A few years ago PG&E planned installation of those huge towers across a section of our property. We sent them a letter of objection to their proposal. They responded with a $5000 check. PG&E eventually never continued with that project. So I wonder if our letter of objections had anything to do with the changes made in their decisions. But it ended well for us.
President Biden did slam Kacsmaryk’s decision, saying that the court “has substituted its judgment for FDA, the expert agency that approves drugs.”
“There is no way this decision has a basis in law. It is instead rooted in conservatives’ dangerous and undemocratic takeover of our country’s institutions,” Wyden said. “No matter what happens in seven days, I believe the Food and Drug Administration has the authority to ignore this ruling, which is why I’m again calling on President Biden and the FDA to do just that.”
Good grief. Its sickening how baseless grandstanding has become so normalized, and even celebrated. Can someone stop for a second and consider the fact that this ruling was issued solely because the safety of the drug is currently being litigated? Why would you not pause approval when there are substantial safety concerns? (Yes, the case wasnt thrown out so there is substance to the claims, even if the final determination is yet unknown.)
All this “outrage” shows is that pushing a political agenda is more important than people and their safety.
These restrictions are the result of overreaction by the Japanese government listening to the enviro nuts. Perhaps there was a measurable change of radiation levels, but not enough to be dangerous.
I hate to tell you this, but radiation is part of our environment. There’s radiation from naturally occurring radioactive elements in the environment and there’s cosmic ray radiation that constantly rains down on the Earth. Look up the increased radiation that you receive from a cross country trip on an airplane.
Life on earth has evolved the ability to repair itself from radiation damage. The enviros like to obfuscate this by using the linear no threshold (LNT) model. This ridiculous theory is analogous to saying that jumping off a 1 foot step 12 times is equivalent to jumping off a 12 foot high roof. The enviros used the LNT theory for their claims of damage from Fukushima.
Fukushima was a rare outlier. It Followed the largest earthquake ever recorded in Japan. It triggered 15 m high tsunami waves that killed tens of thousands of people Despite this, all the nuclear plants in Japan, including Fukushima, remained safe. The forced evacuation overreaction harmed many more people than anything from the power plants.
I have seen the chart, and am fully aware. I think you are overestimating how quickly “life on earth” (specifically humans) can repair itself – it all depends on the exposure.
Cultural juggernauts like Netflix and The New York Times are more likely to support Twitter’s worldview than challenge it. Yet both have recently revealed some refreshing dissident streaks.
Now a third powerhouse comes along poised to do the same.
HBO Max has announced plans to team up with Twitter villain J.K. Rowling to produce a new series based on the author’s ultra-popular Harry Potter books. The decision might lead to the eventual uncancelling of Rowling, and it also represents the latest in a series of blows to cancel culture itself. “
Looks good to me. He’s attacking social policies of other states and promoting California. I don’t see this changing the social policies in those states, so in that sense he’s not exporting anything. But he is advertising California, which might bring more people who agree with those messages to California.
He’s trying to export his socialist, divide and conquer, institutional fear agenda. That’s the exact answer to your question of “how does he want to export” this to the rest of America. Uh, just in case it’s not a clear enough answer to your question … “he wants to use audio, video, print media and willing allies in the mainstream media to export those un-American ideas”.
Are you suggesting that the people who live in those states don’t already know about California policies? So they may actually be swayed by these exports?
Most people under 50 don’t know the long term effects of socialism and socialist policies. How could they know as most mainstream media don’t report it, or only report it as part of another story in support of more socialist policies.
I thought we were talking about exporting the increased crime, how is that socialism? Also the ads this PAC already put out were about abortion access, which also has nothing to do with socialism.
I think you may be confusing “social policy” (which could be anything that deals with the people) with socialism (social ownership of the means of production, socialized government payments for certain common expenses, etc).
I don’t think so. Most of Newsom’s, and other progressives’ policies, are socialist. While they may be disguised as social policy, they are nonetheless socialist.
Using your example about abortion access, Newsom would like the government to pay for it.
Your other example of exporting crime flies in the face of common sense when he welcomes illegal immigrant criminals. That is importing crime. His other pro-crime initiatives will be met with his solutions of spending more money on the increased crime that he (through is policies) created.
Just in case you’re weren’t clear and meant that he meant to export his pro-crime policies, then you would still be incorrect because those pro-crime policies are generally socialist.
If the government pays for it for the poor or the uninsured, it may appear as socialism, but that’s cheaper than the other social benefits that the parent(s) would otherwise collect for the next 18 years, like SNAP, SSI, etc. Those are federal policies to which the state also contributes, so it would actually be saving money in the long run.
You’re putting too much emphasis on a few bad apples. Most immigrants are not criminals, especially the illegal immigrants (other than being illegal), because they don’t want to get deported.
Hayton transitioned in 2012 and now identifies as a transgender woman. Since then, Hayton has frequently written on the harmful effects of society elevating gender identity over biological sex.
“I just find Mulvaney juvenile… I just can’t understand, you know the fact that Mulvaney identifies as trans and is going on this seemingly nauseating campaign of these days of girlhood, is just – I’m just not interested in that,” Hayton said. Mulvaney comes across as “a 5-year-old who’s been let loose in a candy store,” the critic added.
Hayton has also been an outspoken critic of the transgender movement’s push to normalize trans issues for children. Hormone blockers and gender reassignment surgery is not for children, the teacher said.
Hey, it’s a bit of sanity from within the trans community. I wonder what percentage of the whole feel the same way, and just want the rabblerousing attention whores to shut up and go away?
It sounds like, regardless of their outward presentation, this person understands that this is a choice and he is only pretending to live as a female (personal choice doesn’t trump biology). And I don’t think most people have any problem with that - it’s none of my business unless you chose to drag me into it.
