Budweiser - the gift that keeps on giving, 'er losing …

Even at a huge biker rally, Budweiser has become the Rodney Dangerfield of beers. They just have to teach the Clydesdales to twist their necks and adjust their ties.

Apparently the distributor took it seriously and set up an elaborate facility that no one is using.

[Governor] Cooper, on the other hand, appeared to have no regrets that he ignored the will of his constituents by vetoing the protective legislation. Instead, he complained that legislators were focused on keeping children away from mutilative gender experiments that will wreak irreversible damage on their bodies and minds instead of passing a budget bill.

These are the wrong priorities” Cooper said in a statement.

Ha!

That headline focuses on mutilations. But there were two other equally significant laws that also had their veto overridden:

men in ladyface are barred from infiltrating women’s sports, a policy decision a majority of Americans support because they know that males have an indisputable biological and physiological advantage and women have a right to privacy and safety in places like locker rooms.

and

Teachers, under another new law, must also alert parents of their children’s gender confusion issues instead of transitioning kids secretly.

Women should refuse to participate in idiocies like this

“I keep using the word ‘disheartening’ over and over again,” powerlifter April Hutchinson said in an interview on Fox News. “It’s outrageous. It’s a big slap in the face to women that the [Canadian Powerlifting Union] federation, after all of this time and all these letters, even legal letters, have not stepped up and protected women in sports.”

Time to Bud Light Compass Real Estate

https://www.newsweek.com/california-mom-says-fired-objecting-gender-lessons-1820167

because I voiced my concerns about things like 10-year-olds being told in school that they can take puberty blockers, and I challenged the new curriculum that teaches children that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, the bullies in Benicia decided I should be fired," she said in the video.

And you know what? Compass, a powerful national company who could have stood up for me and my American right to voice my opinion as a mom at a school board meeting caved to the bullies’ demands."

On her website, Roberson said she was informed on May 1 that she could no longer do business as a Compass agent. “They confirmed it had nothing to do with my production and business success, but simply that they ‘decided to part ways,’” she wrote.

A Compass spokesperson told Newsweek that Roberson was “not an employee of Compass—she was an independent contractor who worked on an agent team—and the decision to disassociate her license was made at the request of her team’s owner in April 2023.”

Edit. This is her website. Well done.

That’s a little tougher. You wouldnt kill McDonalds just because one of their local franchisees fired someone. They probably have very little say in the matter.

What should happen is Compass should offer this lady her own team/franchise/whatever the technical term is.

I think we should go after the franchiser. We have to apply pressure anywhere we can. Compass is trying to weasel out of their actions. The leftist activists applied pressure on them and got the results they wanted. IMO Compass was behind the firing.

I’ve been trying! Haven’t given them a penny in like 2 decades…

The powerlifters are too woke to just ban men from the women’s division so they came up with some arcane rules bullshit garbage to confuse us

I continue to be shocked at how they always seem so shocked when this happens. Dudes breaking women’s records when you allow dudes to compete in women’s sports is one of the most obvious consequences you’ll ever see, to the point there’s no way you can argue there’s anything unintended about it. It is literally the entire reason why women’s sports even exist to begin with.

You, and 90% of the population. The true libbers believe that men and women are equal, so this will have to occur enough times that a pattern emerges, and they will then blame global warming. :-]

Ha! That’s par for the course, trying to virtue shame an EV driver for not choosing to pay double the cost just for the convenience of someone else.

My takeaway from this story? Why aren’t people suing such municipalities for not providing free fueling locations like they’re providing charging stations? Why does gas need to be purchased from private for-profit businesses, while EVs deserve free access to publicly funded charging stations? Why weren’t those millions of SPR barrels instead refined and sold direct to consumers at cost via publicly funded and maintained gas stations?

How are changing station networks ever going to ween off the public’s teet when they undercut by more than half the private ventures? Maybe Speedway decides to install charging banks at their gas stations, if their competing with $.50 Tesla stations only Teslas can use. But not if they’re competing with the city’s $.20 stations, that leave no chance of profitability.

That is certainly the top takeway. There are so many things that pop in this story that it’s shocking.

  1. The state, apparently, is spending $85 million on non-Tesla charging stations IN PASADENA ALONE! I would say it’s time for Californians to vote for another proposition on charger spending, but then it will be overturned or tied up in court.

  2. The city acts just like a dope dealer …

The Arroyo EV Charging Depot at 64 E. Glenarm St. is NOW OPEN! Enjoy these new Level-3 EV fast chargers for FREE ??? ??? ??? !!! pic.twitter.com/Mt6jpcGJF4

— City of Pasadena (@PasadenaGov) November 3, 2021

If there is such demand, why give it away? Dope dealers don’t need tons of ??? and !!!.

  1. “Tesla can build faster than we can. …"

So a relatively small auto manufacturer, with no dealer network, can install chargers, nationwide, faster than the DMV city utility? Cut my legs off and call me shorty.

  1. He talked about how, in large part due to the many payment forms they have to facilitate, and also the fact that they aren’t maintained by Tesla (which has dialed EV charging in better than anyone), non-Tesla chargers tend to have more “fault points” and thus down-time than Tesla chargers do.

So, not only can Tesla build chargers faster, but they also maintain them better. Way to pad your résumé. Another city is bound to make you an offer.

  1. “We’re actually in design for an additional 12 [chargers]; we already put in conduit for an additional 12 chargers.” In total, that will make 18 CCS chargers—comparable to the 20 Tesla Superchargers.

But at a 33% failure rate, that will make 12 working CCS chargers --NOT comparable to 20 working Tesla Superchargers. I’ll blame this on the writer, as it was his conclusion. Being an EV guy, his thinking may make sense to his EV audience.

From this picture, which the author annotated, how in the heck can anyone draw the conclusion that the writer did? The F-150 is far from the spot he wanted. The Tesla jerk has not only already parked, but he has already plugged his car into the charger, and he’s walking away. The F-150 driver should not be awarded that spot, even if an alphabetor, except out of pity for being a “bless his heart” kind of a guy.

Correction - they’re spending it on charging stations that can be used by all EVs, including Teslas.

It’s funny how adding a markup to the electricity provides a margin (and an incentive) to fund maintaining them…
