How about traffic on Broadway in New York after the plays end? Maybe the town has several theaters? Also, a lot of truck shipping happens overnight. The streets outside the port of Los Angeles, probably see a lot of traffic between midnight and 6 AM as trucks with offloaded cargo leave the port. Maybe some cut through the town.

The port is connected to two major freeways (110 and 710) and the trucks aren’t supposed to go through the nearby residential neighborhoods. There was a problem during COVID when the supply chain was disrupted and the port had no room for empty containers (IIRC), but it was not related to any specific time of day.
How do the signs show anti-gay animus? I think the people living on the nearby streets would not want straight couples having sex in front of their houses…

Hey I didn’t write those articles, I just provided direct quotes to show that the reasons you mentioned (traffic safety and 22102 CVC) were not the real reasons for those signs.
The only reason was gay men hanging out and having sex in the streets, which is apparently either no longer the case or is no longer a problem for the neighborhood, so the signs came down. If the problem comes back, I suppose so could the signs.
The “gay” is probably an irrelevant detail. As I said initially, it was about prostitutes picking up “dates”.

Elon Musk on Tuesday announced that SpaceX headquarters will be moving from California to Texas , after California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) signed a law which bans schools from notifying parents if their child identifies as transgender.
“This is the final straw,” Musk posted on X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”
Musk later added that he made it clear to Newsom that “laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”

Biden’s effort of “trans rights to your bathroom” and “your imaginary gender identity deserves federal protection” both were struck down by the Supreme Court.
The court fights before the Supreme Court involved two groups of states that challenged three provisions of the rule: The first recognizes that Title IX’s prohibition on sex discrimination covers gender identity; the second broadens the definition of “hostile-environment harassment” to include harassment based on gender identity; and the third clarifies that a school violates Title IX when it prohibits transgender students from using restrooms and other facilities consistent with their gender identity.

Harley-Davidson said Monday that it’s ending diversity and other progressive initiatives at the company. Harley-Davidson is the latest major American brand to backtrack from DEI policies it had supported in recent years.
Harley-Davidson faced pressure online from Robby Starbuck, a conservative activist who has successfully taken on DEI policies at several American companies.
“We are saddened by the negativity on social media over the last few weeks, designed to divide the Harley-Davidson community,” the company wrote in a statement posted on X.
The company added that “we have not operated a DEI function since April 2024, and we do not have a DEI function today. We do not have hiring quotas and we no longer have supplier diversity spend goals.”
But the company said it would review all sponsorships and outside organizations the company affiliates with, and the company will establish a central clearinghouse for approvals of those relationships. It also suggested it would drop some sponsorships, including LGBTQ+ Pride festivals, saying the brand going forward would focus exclusively on growing the sport of motorcycling. Harley-Davidson, based in Milwaukee, had previously been a longtime corporate member of the Wisconsin LBGT Chamber of Commerce.

In a letter to its employees, Brown-Forman (BF.A. BF.B) confirmed that since launching its DEI inclusion strategy, the “world has evolved, business has changed, and the legal and external landscape has shifted dramatically, especially within the United States.”
“With these new dynamics at play, we must adjust our work to ensure it continues to drive business results while appropriately recognizing the current business environment,” the company added.
To that end, the company will make executive incentives and employee goals tied to business performance, remove supplier diversity ambitions, and end participation in the Human Rights Campaign survey.

Bloomberg has obtained an email from Ford Motor Company notifying employees that it’s scaling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, joining the ranks of other mega-corporations that have either nuked or altered their woke initiatives.
Details are scant at the moment, but two headlines from Bloomberg reporters hit around 1100 ET, detailing an email that Ford executives sent employees about ‘modifying’ DEI practices and ending its participation in LGBTQ rankings.
