The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Are you still saying this? He’s never been and it’s a little late now.

It’s pretty bad, you can see the very first week in office approval rating was high because everyone had hopes he wasn’t really as bad as we (nearly) all expected. And initially there were some respectable people in the administration before they were all driven to resign rather than participate in the treason. But it immediately dropped after the first couple weeks. And has remained at a historically low level.

Nah! Just over a post-birth abortion.

Sorry for combining replies, but can’t seem to do more than 3 consecutive.

I am surprised, and expected you to have more regard for life. Maybe I misundertsood - Just to be clear, if a black person curses at me and screams that I’m a slave owner, or an Indian calls me “white man speaking with forked tongue”, you would consider me justified in kicking the out of them?

And from the same speech … Trump has publicly thought that he will order postal carries to throw away return ballots from yards with Obama signs. Additionally, he will order postal carriers to stop at a local Kinko’s to make copies of ballots from yards with Trump signs.

Comrades Pelosi and Schumer loudly proclaimed that these are impeachable thoughts, and they will start impeachment proceedings immediately after the election, expecting them to run throughout 2021.

Of course not. They’re afraid they’ll get hit by the hammer or cut by the sicle.

Are you a racist people hater. Those are peaceful protests and we’ve been reminded of that multiple times per day for the past two months

Um, yes? I just said it again?

When is the last time there was any Republican presence at all at the Democrat convention? Let alone from recent Rep president candidates?

I swear you guys are like a computer, programmed to search for specific key words and rejecting comments if it contains the wrong combination of those words. “Trump” and “unite” included in the same post? Invalid!

This idea is stupid honestly. It’s akin to trying really hard to put back toothpaste in the tube. People are not going back. It’s like Trump and jobs in manufacturing. Most of them are lost to robots and automation, not China or Mexico, and they’re not coming back - in that form at least-. In a world where people post their lives on social media, who’d write to pen pals who knew what you were up to 3 days before that mail came?

Besides, wouldn’t the extra paper used endanger trees she’s trying to save with her green new deal?

The Kasich thing is emblematic of Trump’s Queens heritage problem. To wit:

During the 2016 election primary Kasich was running against Trump. Kasich never had a prayer, but that did not stop Trump back then from making fun of Kasich’s table manners . . . of all things!!!

Trump derisively called attention to the fact Kasich eats like a pig, stuffing his mouth and trying to talk with his mouth full. Trump pointed to this more than once and made fun of Kasich. OK, sure it was true. But Kasich has never forgotten being made fun of like this . . IN PUBLIC and on national TV. It really pissed Kasich off, but for him revenge has been sweet. And I think Trump still has not learned what goes around comes around.

Exactly. The post office needs to be right-sized, providing services commiserate with it’s revenues. Anything else is putting a bandaid on someone with their head blown off. But at least, for once, AOC’s solution would address the actual problem.

I’d think the obvious solution would be every-other-day delivery service. It’s just my guess but the delivery routes have to make up a bulk of their operating expenses, and every other day delivery would immediately cut that expense in half. Let businesses choose to pay a monthly fee for daily delivery, or rent a PO box, if they deem daily mail access essential.

But I’m sure that’s heresy to even suggest. Clearly it’s just another clever way to sabotage voting by mail, and kill veterans by preventing them from getting their medication by mail…

That would further kill competitiveness on package delivery (what’s most profitable), which has already been damaged intentionally by pretending it’s not profitable and forcing them to raise prices to the point that companies (such as Amazon) have now established new last-mile delivery competitors rather than rely on USPS for delivery of next day packages. No one wants to wait longer for things to be delivered.

The further handicapping of the USPS will only make it appear to be even less profitable.

A service that drives every route to every home every day, regardless of package volume, will never be financially competitive with a service only drives to a home when there is something to deliver to that home.

The only reason package delivery is so profitable for the post office is because there is no “last mile” expense - the carriers are driving the route regardless. As opposed to FedEx, etc, who incurs incremental cost to bring each package to your door.

Maintaining a wildly unprofitable core business just to facilitate the incremental package revenue seems…unwise. Heck, if packages are so profitable, they could still deliver packages that do come in the “off” days (of every other day routes), similar to how they deliver on sundays now, and still save significantly over maintaining those daily routes.

Oops :grimacing:

Isn’t it pretty clear that Trump was (and still is) a “fan” of anyone with international stature who he has a chance to score photo ops with?

Granted, I’d assume it’s done more to Trump than by Trump, but it’s just good business to develop relationships with anyone of significance; to be “eager to do business with” someone, even if you privately ridicule them.

If he was a Senator with higher aspirations presenting himself in an official capacity, I could see bringing it up. But given his career at the time, I don’t know why this would even come up. Even if he was conspiring with Russia to do his opposition research for him (and ignoring the fact there’d be nothing wrong with that anyways), it’s still a near-bulletproof coverstory.

President Donald J. Trump, by far the best President or Presidential candidate so far this century, will be making a presentation later this afternoon at the White House. There will be questions from the gathered White House press corps. Time of this event is 5:30 pm ET. You can watch online at White House live.

I expect President Trump to react to the ongoing Democrat convention. He also could get questions about the Goodyear flap and about whatever other controversy might arise in the next three hours.

While it is kind of nice to see this happening to them for once, this bungle is just as bad as the stuff I criticize as mischaracterized (if not outright fabricated) about a lot of stuff Trump says.

Anything for a headline, even if it means omitting a word or forgetting a premise.

"President Trump addressed the baseless, far-right QAnon conspiracy theory directly for the first time on Wednesday, saying he didn’t know much about the online community and its followers other than “they like me very much.”

“I heard that these are people who love our country,” Trump added in response to a question about the conspiracy community during a press briefing at the White House.

When a reporter partially summed up the conspiracy theory to him — that it revolves around a false narrative that Trump is leading a secret, government-led charge against pedophiles, cannibals and satanic worshippers — Trump responded: “Is that supposed to be a bad thing?”

“If I can help save the world from problems, I’m willing to do it,” Trump said."

"…followers of QAnon have been linked to a series of kidnappings and two killings.
“The connection to violence prompted the FBI in 2019 to classify QAnon as a domestic terrorism threat.”

President Donald J. Trump, by far the biggest piece of shit to ever hold the title of POTUS, is the king of all trolls. Both because he’s ugly and because he promotes false and inflammatory theories for his own amusement and personal gain.
