Nice to see priorities and government expenditures are on decorative renovation during a national health emergency. Certainly no better use of taxpayer money during a pandemic.
Edit: do I need a disclaimer to point out how silly this is in particular? It’s like an onion article.
Sure, if you ignore that it was funded by private donors…
My curiosity regarding this “news” is the outrage over how it supposedly ruins the Kennedy’s original vision for the garden. Of course, nowhere is a 1962 picture to be found to support the claim, they always compare it to pictures from the Obama administration 50 years later… The First Lady instead claims it restores some of the original vision. And the most noticeable change was to (gasp) improve handicap accessibility - something only the Trumps would ever be criticized for.
Wow. I was just about to start naming all the people who have not yet turned on Trump (or been investigated / imprisoned) since he took office. She was the only non-family I could think of off the top of my head.
“Focus on family matters” = her husband finally convinced her? LOL, prolly not.
I don’t think there’s basis to say she turned anywhere. Still the same slime on that front.
But her family has long been a mess. I meant it when I said props for the right decision, and I wish them well. I didn’t expect to be in a situation where I would have any respect for her. Didn’t expect the resigning.
Not really “seriously”, she’s opposed to her father’s political activity as well. So it’s not just about Trump.
There’s likely other deeper issues the family is going through and other reasons for the discord. Not just the mom’s choice to publicly spew dangerous nonsense with a smile.
It’s their own private matters to resolve, I wish them the best. Family should come first.
Lots of families have trouble balancing priorities with career(s) and their kids. It shouldn’t be such a difficult issue to set priorities when they have financial means, the career should always be secondary in those cases.
Yes, 15 year old teenagers who think they’re better off living on their own are lunatics. Especially when it’s because of “mom’s job”, and that job doesnt involve prostitution or drug manufacturing.
What’s somewhat interesting is from the biblical standpoint anyway (Christians), prostitutes are among the most respectable for dealing with the rough situation they’ve been dealt (Jesus washed their feet) and those who would deceive and spread mistruths are among the worst.
Then again, the current president gassed people to create a photo op of himself holding an upside-down Bible. Can’t get more sacrilegioussacrilicious than that.
Pretend “religious” Trump supporters eat it up and ask for more waffles.
I finally found an explanation for Mary Trump’s hatred that makes sense. Have to say I am on Mary’s side on this one, and I disagree with President Trump and his (living) siblings.
Mary Trump is President Trump’s niece. But her dad predeceased her grandfather, and President Trump’s father, Fred Trump.
When Fred Trump passed there was a substantial estate. Mary was of the opinion the estate should be divided among Fred’s living children and the offspring of his dead son, she being one of the offspring. I agree with that as being a fair and equitable distribution of Fred Trump’s estate.
But that did not happen. Instead Fred’s living children, President Trump and two others, acted in unison either to cut Mary out entirely or to take a portion of her inheritance for themselves. Mary has been massively pissed off ever since, Fred Trump having passed in 1999.
I don’t know what the excuse was for taking Mary’s money. Was she into drugs or something akin to that? I dunno. Was there an excuse at all or was it pure avarice on the part of the two brothers and the sister? I dunno.
But Mary certainly was, and remains, incredibly resentful; and with justification it seems to me. She and her siblings, if any, were rightfully entitled to her father’s share of the estate.

Should mention it is possible Fred Trump, while he was alive, could have made a gift to Mary and her siblings, if any, in lieu of their inheritance. That would legitimize what President Trump et.al. did.
