The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Need anything more be said? Cause obviously, that means the same as “the campaign mocking him”.

But I never said that. You are saying that, not me.

All I’m saying is that during Trump’s administration there has been no conflict with North Korea. This despite things having appeared quite ragged when he assumed office.

I think we see now, even if we look back only to the beginning of this century, that the military industrial complex has asserted itself quite markedly in some instances, e.g., Iraq, with people like John Bolton for example only too willing to use force. Trump: not so much. Another case in point:

The Iranians shoot down a VERY large and expensive American drone amidst much furor. This was quite clearly a highly aggressive act. But Trump didn’t take the bait and risk starting a war by retaliating with, for example, cruise missiles. Nope. Instead he just tightened down even more on the sanctions, squeezing and hurting Iran big time economically, but not risking lives of American soldiers.

However cruise missiles not fired also do not have to be replaced. And absence of conflict means less opportunity for military brass to make a name for themselves personally. Thus, at the Pentagon, G.W. Bush was a much more popular POTUS than Trump ever will be. And to members of Congress for whom war means jobs, Trump is a total cipher.

I’m surprised a former assistant secretary 2 years removed from office has such a finger on the pulse of current internal North Korean political strategy.

Hear it here first

An interesting development is emerging involving world peace. You will not hear about this on the evening news:

Imam of Kaaba Hints at Saudi Peace Deal with Israel, Sparks Outrage

The Saudis have a decision to make in the wake of Israel’s deal with the UAE. This Imam is promoting peace. So is Trump and so is Israel.

This is multidimensional. Many Muslims do not want Saudi Arabia and Israel to agree on anything, and that goes double especially for Iran’s Shiites. So this is a heavy lift for Saudi Arabia.

But there is an additional dimension related to our election. The Saudis know they have an ally in Trump. They worry Biden could resume a much more friendly relationship with Iran, as was ongoing during the Obama/Biden years. So the Saudis would like to help Trump by making peace with Israel and giving Trump thereby a big win. And of course Trump, for his part, has been working for this outcome throughout his first term.

So does this Imam’s announcement presage a coming together of Saudi Arabia and Israel and a big win for Trump? Stay tuned.

And you just wrote tomorrow’s headline - “First Russia, now Saudi Arabia is exploring ways to influence the US Presidential election to benefit Trump!”

And queue the outrage, since it’s obviously all Trump’s fault, and part of his master plan to subvert democracy.

You don’t say? The Saudi Royals who attacked us on 9/11 have an ally in Trump?

You are smarter than this. And everyone here knows it. Please refrain from such silly posts as this in future.

If so I missed the mark. The actual headline today is Trump’s nomination for a Nobel peace prize. I did allude yesterday to Trump’s long standing and ongoing efforts to bring peace. But I did not envision this nomination.

The nomination letter mentions Israel/UAE which I pointed to earlier up thread. It also mentions Trump’s mediation efforts with North and South Korea. It highlights Trump’s work with India and Pakistan. And there is one more aspect:

The nomination points to Trump’s force reductions in the Middle East. I dunno whether or not Trump’s pre-announcement of additional reductions in Iraq and Afghanistan was done with foreknowledge of the nomination, or not. The actual Iraq announcement will happen today, with Afghanistan to follow within the next week or two.

When I first learned of the troop reductions I just assumed Trump was seeking to piss off the Pentagon deep state and fire back at the Generals there who had been taking potshots at him. Now I dunno. It is true Trump does indeed want to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and always has. So this is not at all out of character for him. But the timing is intriguing.

Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see how the American mainstream media propaganda arm of the DNC spins the peace prize nomination. Or perhaps they will ignore it completely, who knows. It will surely drive the Trump haters absolutely NUTS!

It’s funny, Obama actually won the peace prize back in 2009 for having done absolutely nothing whatsoever. In my opinion Trump’s nomination will go nowhere regardless all his successful efforts to foster peace. This is what passes for fairness on the left.

The memo has already gone out!

They are impugning the member of the Norwegian Parliament who nominated Trump. It’s amusing to watch their spin machine in action. What a bunch of fake news jockeys. No positive or laudatory news about Trump is allowed now. It’s much too close to the election.

Trump Admits He Lied About COVID-19 Threat In New Woodward Book

President Donald Trump knew in early February that coronavirus posed a unique and deadly threat to the United States, and was “more deadly than even your strenuous flus.”

At the time, Trump repeatedly publicly downplayed the virus as no more dangerous than the flu.

“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in a Feb. 7 call with Woodward. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu.”

“This is deadly stuff,” he repeated.

“I wanted to always play it down,” Trump told Woodward on March 19, according to a copy of the book obtained by CNN. “I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”

But by ignoring reality in public, the president didn’t prevent panic, he provoked it. Many statements Trump made as the virus spread in the U.S. were outright falsehoods:"

So, to be clear, Trump deliberately lied to the American people, failed to do his job, and killed Americans.

We know this because he said so, for the record, on tape.

A few months after Iranians shot down our drone, a drone strike killed Soleimani. So yes, Trump retaliated with a cruise missile, risked lives of American soldiers, some of whom were injured or killed in the immediate response by Iran, and risked starting a war.

Yep, he sure cares about the troops.

My earlier post was spot on. Your association of the Soleimani incident with Iran’s strike on our drone is off the mark. Here is why:

The Soleimani hit was a drone strike intended to take out a very high value target.

No, he did not. Drones are not cruise missile capable. The weapon that took out your hero Soleimani was most likely a Hellfire missile, carried by and fired from a drone.

I realize you liberals thought Soleimani was a laudable hero, admirable and far above reproach. After all, he was responsible for the deaths of countless American soldiers. But you, and the NY Times, are wrong. Soleimani was an enemy combatant of the highest order, and well worth incurring risk to take out. Point is, the demise of Soleimani was unrelated to retaliation for the downing of our drone. He was, instead, an extremely high value target unto himself.

I realize no California liberal can reasonably be expected to understand such as this. Maybe if you try really hard. I’m just grateful one of you was not there to warn Soleimani and save his life.

Maybe he’s your hero, but not mine. I only wrote about it to point out the fallacy of your post. Had Iran not been as aggressive towards the USA and not shot down our drone, nobody could say for certain that this assassination would still have taken place, all else being equal. Sure he was a high value target for a long time, and there had probably been prior opportunities to take him out, and there could have been more in the future. It’s very likely that the downed drone was still fresh on the mind and had an impact on the decision to take action at that time.

Note that I did not criticize the action at all. Again, only pointed out that you are wrong (my bad on the missile type, but it doesn’t matter that much for my point). Your hateful vitriol is unwarranted.

You people are specialists in discovering hate. You seem to find it everywhere. Everyone who rejects your liberal socialist screed is a hater. And I do . . . vehemently. So I guess to you I am. It’s a badge of honor I wear proudly.

But the truth is I do not hate you. I merely disagree with your tolerance for and embrace of socialism. I will never accept what I am certain is wrong. I’m the type you people would send to your re-education camps . . . . if you could. And if that did not work, you would kill me. Because you never would be able to convert me. Never

No, the real hate is on the left. We see it everywhere for Trump, and for those of us who prefer to remain free instead of joining your sought after collective.
