The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

I didn’t notice, but it could be because I now watch and listen everything at 1.75-2x speed.

Because Trump’s people have been dumb and reckless when they’ve been obnoxiously and purposefully flaunting the guidelines and infected a bunch of people.

Biden’s people have been following the advice of scientists and medical professionals, and so far only a few have tested positive. We have to see if it continues to spread in the Biden’s camp as viciously as it did in Trump’s before there’s anything to jump on.

Here’s the real scandal – xerty changed what patty wrote and didn’t even say FTFY! Where’s the outrage?! Why are you putting word’s into patty’s mouth, xerty?

Yet they all still ended up with infections.

We’ll have to see? It only took one positive to jump all over Trump.

FTFY

Another 9/11 every two days… But these are caused by Trump, not his Saudi Friends.

Best proof so far of the laptop’s authenticity:

Hunter sent his attorney into the repair shop to request return of the hard drive!! In short: Hunter wanted his stuff BACK!!

This is the same “stuff” he earlier had claimed was bogus and did not belong to him. This is funny as heck.

Look, Hunter is patently a miscreant. It’s not a reason to condemn his dad. Vice President Biden had another son who was a patriot and a stand up guy. Sadly that son, Beau, passed away. Mr. Biden also had a daughter who passed away at a VERY early age in a common accident with his first wife. Just guessing, but I’ll bet she would have turned out well had she and her mom lived. Loss of that same mom is, likely as not, a key reason Hunter is so messed up. He was younger than Beau and the loss of his mom so early has to have impacted him harder.

All that said, there is some worrying stuff going on here and it extends well beyond the Biden family. Apparently high political officials in BOTH parties make arrangements for relatives to obtain high-paying jobs with entities seeking to buy political influence. A portion of the relative’s pay is then kicked back to the officeholder.

One reason these arrangements remain in the dark is because this practice is widespread on both sides of the political aisle. It’s this sort of thing that we sent an outsider like Trump to Washington to clean up. But he is understandably meeting huge resistance and needs more time to get the job done. I hope he gets that time.

Here’s my real outrage!! You, scripta… You promised back some time ago to never venture into my territory. Please try again. I was scorned for replying to you that time. Don’t tempt me again!!

That’s right. It must be really nice for people in the rest of the world, where death has been eradicated since the virus just magically went away. I forgot Trump is “directly responsible” for all those deaths, since apparently everyone forgot how to use a dictionary. Wait - better call Merriam Webster and get that definition “fixed”, too.

(and I’m pretty sure you were jumping well before it reached 8 million)

And forget the fact there was no jumping on anyone over the 60 million cases back in 2009:

The (H1N1)pdm09 virus was very different from H1N1 viruses that were circulating at the time of the pandemic. Few young people had any existing immunity (as detected by antibody response) to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus, but nearly one-third of people over 60 years old had antibodies against this virus, likely from exposure to an older H1N1 virus earlier in their lives. Since the (H1N1)pdm09 virus was very different from circulating H1N1 viruses, vaccination with seasonal flu vaccines offered little cross-protection against (H1N1)pdm09 virus infection. While a monovalent (H1N1)pdm09 vaccine was produced, it was not available in large quantities until late November—after the peak of illness during the second wave had come and gone in the United States.

I wasnt even going to post that last link, but this caught my eye - while that virus emerged in April 2009, there was a vaccine approved in Sept 2009, which was widely available in November 2009. Wait, what?

Memo to self:

When two Californians get into an altercation, do not stand between them. Doing so could be dangerous.

(feelin’ like Susan Rice here. )

LOL. You sent a fox to guard the hens. You sent a frog to drain a swamp. You put a coal lobbyist in charge of the EPA, a Verizon exec in charge of FCC, an oil exec in charge of foreign affairs. We’re all living in a Bizarro World.

First, I was replying to xerty.

Second, I promised to not engage you on politics and this was not related to politics, but to our conduct and norms on this site or the internet in general.

Here is just a single example of where we are headed apace should Biden become POTUS. This is NUTS!!:

PC idiots at Cornell change name of English department

Voting for Trump will have zero effect on preventing something like this. In fact, it might only multiply.

Cornell is a private entity and can name their departments and buildings any way they choose.

This was an interesting perspective, including the comments. Classical / centrist liberalism getting left behind and having to make a choice between Trump and the New Left. Some historical perspective, not entirely charitably, on the prior presidential candidates as well through the years.

That’s not really PC. It’s dumb and pointless, but it’s distinguishing studying the English language from studying the country of England. They didnt even remove “English” from the department name.

When I read your comment, I assumed they had dropped English altogether, claiming it was somehow offensive to non-English speakers. It was nothing of the sort.

I put it on the same level as companies that spend millions on rolling out a new logo that’s a different shade of green than the old logo. Or NFL teams rolling out a new jersey every couple years - although I understand that one, since it’s all about merchandising.

We objectively have the worst numbers in the whole world. That’s despite starting out the most prepared and spending squandering the most money… Trump is directly responsible for that outcome.

Evangelicals opposed to Trump step out of the shadows

Billy Graham granddaughter says Trump tries to hijack faith, has no Christian values, does damage to view of Jesus. In 2016, Eighty-one percent overlooked his boasts about sexually assaulting women, his documented history of adultery, his association with the casino industry and his proclivity for golfing over church attendance on Sundays to vote for him.

"As a presidential candidate in 2016, Donald Trump railed against the U.S. trade deficit with the rest of the world, and with China and Mexico in particular. “Biggest trade deficit in many years!” he tweeted in June of 2016.“I will fix it.”"

"The total U.S. trade deficit in 2016, including both goods and services, was $481 billion. The trade deficit for the last 12 months, through August, was $599 billion, or 25% larger than the year before Trump took office.

Except at the beginning, when Trump stated that he had authority over what’s done, and everyone let out a collective “Bullshit!”. It’s awfully convenient to reject the authority yet still pin it with the blame.

(just as an example)
