BLM <> rioters and looters. It’s not walking back when you’re referring to a different group of people. Rioters and looters have been consistently denounced.
Sure, some rioters and looters could be BLM. Do you need a venn diagram?
Just like some of the anti government militias or qanon may be (or claim to be) Christian. That doesn’t make all Christians terrorists.
How terrible! In a meeting about Georgia’s congressional races, he dare mention one of Georgia’s newly elected congresspersons. The person who just won an election couldnt possibly be relevant to a discussion about how those same voters will vote next month.
And of course, any mention of such theories is tacit approval. You must summarily trash them, or you’re one of them!
You know, I’d love to hear the actual discussion that occured. I’ll bet anything that transcript would prove this article to be that baseless propaganda you keep railing against.
WTF? So getting a milkshake is his version of stepping back for a minute.
This is the irresponsible narrative that we keep calling out, that helped solidify what you think are your factual opinions today. He must’ve been bored, he was fixated on a milkshake. No, he essentially called a brief recess. And the rest is baseless conjecture.
I don’t think the knee-jerk vote against Trump that we’ve seen in 2018 and 2020 is as simply equated to violent desire to hit every Trump voter. Otherwise it would have been mirrored down ballot by commensurate rejection of all GOP candidates. Many - including myself - who voted for Biden had no problem voting for some GOP candidates at the same time. Many just did not want 4 more years of President Trump’s government style + cult of personality but are not ready to embrace a socialist agenda of supporting every leech to the system either.
My impression now is that the whole “election defense” scheme is about raising money for the RNC and Saving America PAC to use as they see fit rather than actually pay for complex legal challenges to validity of the election. You’d have to give north of $8k before any money goes to actual legal challenges. Meaning most donors just padded the pockets of the RNC and Trump’s PAC.
That was very well orchestrated honestly and set the RNC well for helping with the GA senate runoff actually. The PAC funding feels pretty swampy but nothing special for Trump as businessman and for Washington politics. Once seen through that lens, a lot of the situation with not conceding, making unsubstantiated wild claims, and keeping up hopeless challenges with no tangible evidence makes a lot more sense to me. Smart.
I’d have to disagree with the “smart” characterization. Trump and some of his allies have instilled doubts in GA’s election process. This could backfire and turn both senate seats to democratic control, which would be the opposite of what the RNC wants.
Yes, it just solidifies that a vote for any current “GOP” is a vote for continued Trump influence, as the Trump family influence in the “GOP” is not going anywhere. It also makes clear the ties of the insider-trading Loeffler and Purdue to Trump, which they have also directly expressed.
Fixed.
Yes, it’s not surprising at all for Trump. Just like Trump University.
Really? find just one example of election fraud claims and fake fundraisers to line the individual’s own pockets… Where are examples of this being “usual” for “Washington politics?” Maybe it’s usual for “Moscow politics” or “Pyongyang politics…”
Edit: also, he’s only fleecing the small donors, so that’s A-OK. No one rich is being fleeced.
11-year-old boy dies by apparent suicide while attending online class. This happened in my hometown Wednesday morning
A young boy has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a tragic incident happening while he was attending an online Zoom class.
The 11-year-old student, was rushed to a nearby hospital after the shooting at about 11 am. The boy & his sister were both in virtual schooling when it happened. The victim’s audio & video were not turned on, and the sister heard the gun go off. When she found her brother she alerted her Zoom class teacher who called 911 immediately.
Our Superintendent of Schools, offered condolences to the family affected by this terrible tragedy
.
The Mayor’s of 2 nearby cities also offered condolences. Both stating it’s not clear where the boy got the gun. An investigation is ongoing.
An article in The Atlantic had statistics that read. Seldom do fatalities happen at school campuses at all.
A 2017 study found that the majority, 85% of children 12 or younger who were shot to death were killed at home. Nearly 2 in 3 of countries gun deaths are result of suicide.
Certainly better gun safety was called for. But also, these remote school situations for working parents mean the children like these are left alone rather than being under the more proximal supervision of a teacher, which leaves more room for bad behavior, accidents, not paying attention to lessons, etc, in many more ways than were otherwise possible.
Yes, schools are important. All the countries at the front of the pack that have handled the pandemic adequately have schools fully open… and covid infections near zero. Too bad we failed miserably and are near the back of the pack. The summer would have been an ideal time to get things under control without impacting schools. Since we have widespread virus, government has decided it’s less economically damaging to close schools and keep businesses open with less or no restrictions. Not because the businesses are “safer”, but because the school closures are an indirect economic cost and they care less about that than business owners.
