The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

So it was already happening. That’s my point. Maybe if that was before they broke in you could argue (perhaps correctly) that it encouraged the rioters. But they had already broken in, as you say, so no, that statement was not particularly inflammatory. Other statements, absolutely. But not that statement.

I didn’t say it was inflammatory.

It was clearly inadequate. The false claims of fraud and “stolen” elections throughout the video were also treasonous, and the lavish compliments to the terrorists holding the Congress hostage were also despicable. I did not quote those portions.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I had to read your response a couple of times, because it seems at various points that you switch between attacking democrats and attacking republicans/Trump.

But okay, you don’t find what happened acceptable (although that statement appears to be contradicted by everything you wrote after “but”); I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.

So why are we arguing about this?

My post that you quoted said this: “Yes, this specifically I would say is not particularly inflammatory”.

So if you don’t think it’s particularly inflammatory then we agree?..

So more attempts to de-escalate being denounced for not being divisive enough…

I have a friend that worked in OMB on Mulvaney’s staff and is currently working in State.

According to him, this is the worst kept secret in Washington. It is apparently common knowledge that Melania leaves the white house each night and sleeps/lives with her parents in Potomac. Out of respect for Barron, the media hasn’t reported on it.

The “psychics” are probably Washington insiders that know what’s going on.

Trump is directly responsible for the death of a 14yr air force veteran.

2 pipe bombs, a long gun and a molotov cocktail were discovered by police

" “I’ve known Mike Pence forever,” Sen James Inhofe (R-Okla.) told the Tulsa World on Tuesday night, after a day of public abuse by Trump. “I’ve never seen Pence as angry as he was today. I had a long conversation with him,” he added. “He said, ‘After all the things I’ve done for (Trump).’”"

Trump turns on all his allies. It’s not like you couldn’t see it coming.

But that’s the thing. They were not dismissed. Votes cast were counted, recounted, certified, etc. First there were recounts, many in states where the boards of election were not particularly friendly to Biden. These only confirmed the results. Then 60+ lawsuits were filed. These were examined by various judges and rejected for their lack of evidence of fraud, either on the voting machines or on the election process. The DoJ investigated and reported not finding any widespread fraud. SCOTUS dismissed the TX lawsuit for lack of standing. Many of those courts were filled with Trump appointees so you could not believably claim simple liberal bias to explain them not denouncing the results as fraudulent. even in 2000 with the FL hanging chad dispute, I don’t think we’ve seen as much scrutiny on the voting process and results as this year.

After the Judiciary had not uncovered any proof of fraud, Congress was still hearing objections to EC count in 6 states. Meaning even the legislative branch was looking into it even if it’s not particularly qualified to do so in the Constitution. A 10-day commission would have achieved what? Reveal 13th hour information that dramatically altered the results and made it acceptable to disenfranchise 10s of millions of voters who legally cast their votes? And if that commission had found nothing, would it not simply be because it’s the DC swamp prevailing as usual rather than because there was not enough to overturn legitimate results? We’ll never know but I highly doubt it would have satisfied people ready to attempt a coup to get the results they wanted.

What more would have satisfied the criminals who stormed the Capitol yesterday then? Nothing short of arbitrarily flipping the legitimate results accepted by both the Judiciary and the Legislative. Why? Because you cannot prove a negative. That is the result of promoting conspiracy theories throughout the campaign. Throw mud until it stick. Blame it on the dead voting. Blame it on double voters. Blame it on the machines being programmed to flip votes. Blame it on observers not being able to bully poll workers by standing right above their shoulders. Blame it on the mail voting allowances made to accommodate a once-in-a-century pandemic that will have killed more Americans than WWII by the time it’s done. Heck if nothing works, blame it on the media, foreign powers, pedophile rings ran from pizza parlors, or maybe aliens from alpha centauri. Whatever it takes. You cannot prove it did not happen. If I lose, I’ll claim that it was rigged, stolen from the landslide I was guaranteed to have. Yesterday we saw exactly where this kind of irresponsible BS leads: a tacit invitation to civil unrest and an attempted coup. Oh and the loss of the Senate too which should not have happened if campaign had been run properly and now we’ll have 2 years of Dems shoving their ultra-liberal agenda down our throats without restrain. Thanks for that too Mr President.

Yesterday’s events were an unmitigated disgrace. But none worse than the follow up attempts trying to justify, condone, or legitimize it. Yet another time in recent history when the world had to witness how low our democracy stood and wonder why they entertained the delusion of us being some kind of role model for democracy when we cannot maintain basic order and the rule of law in our most vital institutions.

Well sure. That’s word for word the illegal demand made in the call with GA. Fabricate votes, or else be falsely charged by Trump (and, since he has not been removed from office) and by the full force of the federal government with crimes. When that doesn’t work, then he openly demands his traitorous followers to violently attack Congress at the Capitol with “trial by combat”.

A little late but better late than never, right?

Mulvaney and the rest should have stepped down months or years ago, repudiating Trump’s rhetoric. Their political calculations and greed gave them incentive to support Trump’s idiocies day after day.

I was 100% with your rant until you got here. You’re a very intelligent person and I know you know there’s only so much they can do with a 50/50 Senate. Not to mention that Biden is an establishment moderate and will not let the ultra-left agenda become his.

You can disagree of course, but to say that we’re headed straight for ultra-liberalism is almost as extreme as the ridiculous lies that led to this insurrection. We’ve got to move past this OMG the world’s coming apart and the other side is the devil stuff.
