The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Yes, clean water is an important resource too and getting more valuable each year. TPL is a good play on this if you hadn’t seen it.

I don’t know if they got any better at minimizing the fracking impacts on groundwater, but a lot of that stuff wasn’t easy to test for and of course the drilling industry’s safety record is poor at best so hoping to minimize the water risks by rules that likely won’t get followed doesn’t work too well. I’m not sure about the process for removing some of those contaminants if you find them, if it’s economic, etc.

Oh, dear. There is fracking going on all across the region where I live, and all of us who live here have groundwater wells. There is no “city water” here. So I guess we all, according to you, are in danger. OMG!

Course the fracking is happening a mile away, straight down. And it has been ongoing for more than ten years. And no problems yet. My own well is only a little more than 100 feet deep, so a mile of solid rock is a pretty good barrier against fracking fluid which is not especially dangerous to begin with, the sand it carries being not dangerous whatsoever.

I’m sure you can locate fracking horror stories here on the internet. They are penned by lying climate change alarmists seeking to curtail domestic energy production. And among tens of thousands of wells nationwide there have been a few incidents of careless drilling resulting in spills. They are the rare exceptions used by know-nothing global warming scaredy cats, living in cities and having no personal experience with fracking whatsoever, to frighten others.

Fracking strengthens America. It’s the last thing globalists want. Liberal globalists want Americans to be frightened and submissive to their lunatic socialist/communist aspirations. It’s not happening where I live. We know better.

That again?

I have been hearing these “scientific” climate pronouncements for as long as I’m able to remember. Course back in the 1970’s it was about the threat of another ice age . . . . global cooling. Then the alarmists changed their strategy and began warning that we had only until (pick a date at least ten years hence) before the entire world would erupt in a ball of fire.

Funniest of all, there are people who believe this insanity. I will concede the following, having studied charts based on ice core data:

There will for certain be another ice age. Do not ask me when. But it is coming.

And sure, given the current portion of the cycle, climate could become warmer. It has happened before. But the anthropogenic portion of that warming is minimal, meaning it’s gonna happen no matter what we do. If things become too warm we simply all move to Canada and raise oranges and lemons there! :grinning:

Seriously? I give you credit for knowing better. But since you raised coal:

I have to confess I am conflicted on coal, and I’m uncomfortable discussing it. As a NG person, one who actually is selling NG right now in an ongoing way, my instinct is to trumpet the superiority of my fuel over coal. I can point to the large number of shuttered coal-fired generating stations as electricity producers have decided to fuel instead with my product, NG. The air is MUCH cleaner as a result, and I approve of that. Even the global warming crazies should be happy because of the vast reductions NG offers in the combustion products they claim are causing warming. Of course they are not happy because NG is not renewable, so it does not meet their lofty standards. In fact, they hate NG most of all the fossil fuels because it is doing such a great job.

But coal still troubles me because of the many miners who depend on its production for their livelihoods. I do not want to see those people harmed, and I feel a little guilty contributing to their plight through sale of my NG.

It is even less time than I was thinking when I wrote that yesterday:

Biden has announced the “gang of ten” Republicans can go pound sand. He wants no compromise or unity. He will try to push through his own bloated stimulus using his very slim one vote majority in the Senate.

This shocks no conservatives. We knew the Biden rhetoric was all lies. But some misguided Americans actually believed Biden. Pity.

So we return now to the political race condition which I pointed to earlier up thread. Can Biden get this done through reconciliation before next week and the trial? Because if not he might have to wait a good long time!

And it appears that a “certain Senator” from West Virginia could be a fly in Biden’s ointment. I hope so.

Here is this morning’s interview with Senator Manchin. He is saying he will insist on an open amendment process. Given the 50-50 split in the Senate, this could result in substantial change to what Biden wants.

Manchin is in control. Interview starts about 1 minute into this clip.

So absent open amendments Manchin will not sign on. If Schumer allows open amendments the Republicans will be empowered to propose all sorts of stuff unwanted by Biden and the Democrats and possibly even to run out the clock.

This is gonna be interesting.

Yes indeed. Biden’s gal Jan Psaki speaks the truth. She tells the (so called press) “the President is so happy to have his first session with Senators of the opposition”. The meeting was so wonderful, a beautiful get-together. A great start for this administration.

Unify!!! Now, Back to business as planned. Forget compromises!! Onward!!

Here’s my prediction for the impeachment trial.

Called to defend himself, Trump shows up, drops trou, drops diaper, reaches back and uncorks a three day bender of Taco Bell, hamberder, and diet coke fueled slurry all over the Senate floor, until finally out pops Mike Pence, then Trump stares at Ted Cruz and tells Cruz, “And it still looks better than your wife”.

Cruz agrees that the slurry does indeed look better than his wife and vows to support the slurry. Lindsey Graham declares it the best looking slurry he’s ever seen, Josh Hawley raises his fist to it and declares, “Trump/Slurry 2024!”. Collins furrows her brow and says she’s concerned, but that Trump has once again learned his lesson. Rand Paul declares releasing the slurry is Trump’s First Amendment protected right. And Marjorie Greene, watching from the balcony, declares the slurry a sign from Q.

The vote then proceeds 51-49 along sanity lines, with Romney joining the majority.

" Dominion’s moon shot is directed at the Trump-allied lawyers Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, both of whom have been served with suits seeking $1.3 billion in damages for the myriad lies they told about election fraud that never took place and for which they never provided evidence.

The First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams has argued that both Dominion and Smartmatic have presented good cases to back up their defamation claims. “The repeated accusations against both companies are plainly defamatory and surely have done enormous reputational and financial harm to both,” Abrams told The New York Times.

Dominion CEO John Poulos said: “Because Giuliani and others incessantly repeated the false claims about my company on a range of media platforms, some of our own family and friends are among the Americans who were duped.”"

That’s why we saw Newsmax interviewer guy flee on camera when the MyPillow guy started with the vote stuff the other day. Dominion lawsuits have them running scared.

DOJ planning to charge capitol protestors under RICO organized crime statutes. Oddly, the sources reporting this didn’t hear about any possibility of charging “just an idea” Antifa terrorists likewise.

The notthebee guys are getting more insane by the day. I saw the articles, so YA, I KnEw about it. Except nobody else mentioned “antifa”. Antifa doesn’t occupy buildings or fight for the homeless, they gather to counter-protest any fascist demonstrations. It seems only one person alleged that it was antifa – some nobody conservative “journalist” who has a habit of blaming everything on antifa. Other conservative media just parroted his tweet. Don’t be a tool.

Are you sure it’s not the world that’s getting more insane? Apparently the group in question paid for dozens of hotel rooms for one night, stuck a bunch of homeless people in them with the intention that they wouldn’t leave, and then ran around the hotel with weapons terrorizing and assaulting the staff.

I guess we’ll find out if the Olympia DA will just let the off or actually charge them, the dozen or so they arrested anyway.

Yup. My neighbors over in Canada are in a world of hurt and waiting far too long for vaccine. I can hear their justifiable outcries of suffering. But you have to figure it’s their own fault. Canadian voters put left-wing man-child Trudeau in charge. They got what they voted for:

Carbon taxes, too little vaccine, and liberal BS right across the board.

Too many Canadians are ill and dying from COVID-19. But for Trump’s wise leadership here we would be in the same shape. But there is still lots of time for Biden to mess up all the good Trump did. Biden’s leadership team looks like the cast of characters from the Star Wars bar scene. They have priorities completely unrelated to making America great, and so does their boss.

This does not make them “antifa”.

And the other article said RICO is “being debated” in the capitol cases. These hotel occupiers haven’t been charged yet, maybe they too qualify for RICO. This is fake outrage and untimely whataboutism.

Canada has 4 times fewer confirmed cases and 2.5 times fewer deaths per million population than the USA. If not for Trump’s idiotic leadership, we might be in the same shape as Canada, which is much better than the shape we’re in now.

Perhaps you prefer the leadership of your Governor!

Or maybe you would choose instead the leadership of NY Governor Andy Cuomo, known now as “killer” Cuomo.

The several Canadians I am good friends with (as in we were groomsmen at each others weddings and stuff) just laugh at how bad the US has handled things.
