The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Personally I’m amused that you two are quoting as a source for that, Jack Posobiec the guy who gave us Pizzagate among other stupidity.

/ Amused, but not surprised.

And then off to CPAC for Gosar.

“After speaking at the event, less than 12 hours later Gosar was featured on a panel Saturday morning at the ongoing Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) happening concurrently to AFPAC in the Orlando area.”

Following up on Cuomo’s scandals, I find it interesting not that he covered up his early pandemic response, but that the mainstream media even now a year later are willing to cover that. I guess the powers that be don’t want a rival to President Harris’s first full term in 2024 and so are laying the groundwork to solidify Cuomo’s non-chances despite his denying presidential aspirations last year.

Case in point - the NYT running a sexual harassment piece against Cuomo today, citing inappropriate behavior with one of his young female aides.

Ms. Bennett said she had disclosed the interaction with Mr. Cuomo to his chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, less than a week later and was transferred to another job, as a health policy adviser, with an office on the opposite side of the Capitol, soon after that. Ms. Bennett said she had also given a lengthy statement to a special counsel to the governor, Judith Mogul, toward the end of June.

Ms. Bennett said she ultimately decided not to insist on an investigation because she was happy in her new job and “wanted to move on.” No action was taken against the governor.

Notably the NYT solicited the story from her nearly a year after the events in question, not that she went to them. She never claims he even touched her, just that he made some creepy remarks that made her, a sexual assault survivor, feel uncomfortable. I have no reason to doubt the claims (aside from the fact the NYT published them), nor does Cuomo deny them.

Quite the difference between bothering to run minor story like this and the much-belated coverage, after they couldn’t ignore it, of Biden’s actual rape victim Tara Reade. Ah, but back then they were making sure there wouldn’t be any scandals attached to their front runner and there was an election to win.

More on the Biden pork plan. Jobs? We don’t need jobs, we need welfare Democrat voters.

President Biden’s $1.9 trillion Covid-relief package is being sold as an effort to “get America back to work.” It will do the opposite. We estimate that between five million and eight million fewer Americans will be employed over the next six months if the bill passes.

The bill would create one of the largest expansions in government welfare benefits since the birth of the modern welfare state. In combination with December’s $900 billion package, the new bill would expand the safety net to include six months of weekly $400 bonus unemployment benefits on top of the normal weekly benefits, a $3,000-a-child tax credit, an expansion of food stamps and rental assistance, $2,000-a-person checks, and expanded health benefits.

The Biden plan is welfare reform in reverse. It would repeal many of the successful work requirements dating to the Clinton era, and it contains only minimal requirements in exchange for its cash payments and other benefits… Unlike wages and salaries earned from work, many of these benefits are tax-free…

In Kansas, a family of four with two unemployed adults who had earned U.S. median wages could get paid, including the Biden add-on package, the after-tax equivalent of more than $135,000 on an annual basis without working an hour. In Massachusetts, where state unemployment benefits are the highest in the nation, the figure is $170,000. This doesn’t include any housing or rental assistance the family may also receive. The Biden package of benefits would exceed the wages and salaries of at least 85% of households.

We support a safety net for people who lose their jobs, but benefits this generous are unfair to those who work full-time but get paid less than those on government assistance… Supplemental unemployment-insurance benefits in the range of $400 a week would offer roughly 60% of unemployed workers more money for not working than for returning to their jobs. During the last serious recession, in 2009, the supplemental benefits under the Obama stimulus were $25 a week.

Many Americans will always choose the dignity of work over government handouts. But the Biden benefit package makes going back to work a money-losing proposition… President Biden’s bill will make millions more Americans dependent on checks from the government, not an employer. Could that be the point?

Unbelievable!!

The Biden pork plan?? Disgusting!!

He doesn’t even wait. Since he’s a star, they let him do it. He can do anything. Grab 'em by the *****. He can do anything.

Cuomo “GOP” 2024 presidential candidate? Sounds like he has 74 million potential votes!

CPAC stage “coincidentally”(?) NAZI symbol.

Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. Err… I mean “stand by.”

I continue to make this distinction for obvious reasons. A great many men are pigs and behave as such. Trump certainly is. So are Biden and Cuomo. But here is my bright line:

How do these pigs behave after having been elected to high positions by the people. Presidents and Vice Presidents of the USA, our state Governors, and our Senators must be held to a more stringent standard during the time they occupy their high elected positions.

It’s never OK to be a pig. But such behavior following being elected to a high position is worse than the same behavior engaged in by a private citizen. This is because the former is also a violation of the trust placed in the officeholder by the people.

On the above basis, Trump, Obama, both Bushes, Reagan, Ford, Nixon, and Ike look OK. Biden, Clinton, Kennedy, and Cuomo clearly do not meet the standard.

Johnson? I dunno. I don’t have a clear idea.

Ike? He was true to Mamie while serving in office as POTUS. But while he was overseas? There is a cloud there, but Generals are not elected officials.

If you want to go even further back:

Truman, both in and out of office, was true to Bess.

FDR was certainly not true to Eleanor but there were some extenuating circumstances.

Many more undocumented non-citizen minors showing up since Biden assumed office.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/arrests-of-unaccompanied-immigrant-children-at-southern-border-surge-11614375884

The growing number of children in custody is beginning to strain the government’s ability to properly house and care for them… As of Friday, more than 900 children were waiting in Border Patrol stations to be transferred to a shelter, according to a person familiar with the number, with 100 of them waiting longer than the 72-hour limit permitted by law.

“This is a self-inflicted crisis,” Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to Mr. Trump and an architect of his immigration policy, said in an interview.

Let’s see the pictures of cages and start hounding the Big Guy about his policies.

This was mentioned this morning on the Sunday shows.

Biden’s willingness to allow entry by unaccompanied minors was tantamount to him putting up a humongous neon sign pointing south and saying

“send us your kids”

And that is exactly what is happening.

Trump was much smarter, of course, and made no such unforced error. But thanks to millions of Americans who could not stand Trump’s personality we now have a new leader with a much more serene personality . . . . but who is a frickin’ dunce!!

On the bright side, it seems like all that pork might just be an opening volley. Commentary on confessional prospects -

The U.S. House passed President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion pandemic-relief plan, spanning $1,400 stimulus checks, enhanced jobless benefits and fresh funding for vaccines and testing. Also included: a minimum-wage measure with no prospects of passing in the Senate. The 219 to 212 House vote was a stark contrast to the previous pandemic relief bills enacted last year, which drew strong bipartisan support as the Covid-19 death toll surged. No Republicans voted in favor of the bill, while two Democrats – Jared Golden of Maine and Kurt Schrader of Oregon – voted against the measure. The bill faces significant challenges in the Senate, after a nonpartisan official said Thursday the package can’t move forward with its provision to phase in a $15 an hour minimum wage. That ruling sent Democrats scrambling to work around Senate rules governing the fast-track budget process they’re using to pass the stimulus plan without Republican votes.

CPAC excerpts from Trumps various comments there on politics, policy goals.

While making clear that he intends to remain a force in the Republican party, Trump hinted at a possible 2024 run for president. Referring to Democrats, he said: “I may even decide to beat them for a third time”

Still trolling for his 3rd term I see. Even the NYT had to cover the event, if only to “fact check” all the things he said and try to rebut them or claim they were “fake news”, as if they weren’t in that business these days.

Social media users made it clear they believed Hyatt had missed the point. “A platform for hate is not inclusive, Hyatt,” tweeted one user. “A platform to spread the Big Lie that spawned a violent insurrection and is now fomenting another threatened one is not inclusive.”

As expected, the senate parliamentarian ruled that the House covid pork’s bill minimum wage provision wasn’t a budget item and couldn’t be included if the bill were to pass via reconciliation. The thought leaders of the left, Omar AOC and crew, just know for sure that their understanding of economics and the minimum wage they seek are more important than our Democratic process. They could change the bill to make it acceptable to get 10 Republican senators on board and pass it, or they could yell and demand anyone they don’t like be fired. The outcome won’t surprise you.

Kristi

Kristi Noem appeared yesterday on Face the Nation. She is an outstanding individual.

I would support Kristi Noem for POTUS in 2024, over Donald Trump, in a heartbeat. She is a genuine Conservative, from our former Dakota Territory, not New York City. Noem offers the huge advantage of never having studied at an eastern liberal college or university. She instead grew up on a South Dakota ranch and graduated from South Dakota State.

Noem possesses something which was commonplace when I was young. She has common sense.

Kristi Noem can save America

Sounds like Right Side Broadcasting is in favor of “cancel culture” !

The “Trump is impotent” defense, I like it.
