There have been no police reforms. So why would there be a stop to protesting? It’s pretty sad really, overall the protests have worked against the goals. They’ve been very unsuccessful.
Maybe now the white supremacists will stop showing up at the protests to riot and loot, though…?

I mean, BLM and their for-profit subsidiaries raised over $100M in donations and have $B’s pledged towards goals that will likely involve paying them to administer various racial handouts / community efforts. Their leaders are busy trying to figure out which million dollar house they want to buy for their 5th one. Lots of individuals have taken the riots as an excuse to loot lots of free stuff from local businesses without consequences. And of course the Democrats got the black vote turnout levels they need to win the election so they can now loot the treasury and bail out their half-broke states, hand out race-based subsidy programs to reward minority voters, etc. Success!
Oh, you mean successful at getting police reform? Well, we could have gotten that with peaceful protests, but that was clearly not in any of the aforementioned parties interest so that’s not what we got.

It didn’t seem that clear to me. For example, Floyd had eaten his stash of drugs in a prior police encounter, and seems likely to have done so this time based on his erratic behavior and half a pharmacy in his bloodstream (lots of fentanyl, some meth, pot, and covid too…). He said he was having trouble breathing before he even got into the police car, a common sign of a drug OD on opioids. I am not convinced, certainly not beyond a reasonable doubt, that he wasn’t going to die of an OD regardless of what anyone did.
Apparently neck restraints like that are a common and generally non-lethal police technique for which they train their officers. People don’t normally die from them. It sounded like the medical report didn’t indicate damage to his neck that would have suggested this was misapplied.
I forget the legal terms, but some sort of negligent death seemed a lot more supported than (intentional) murder.

You do know that police departments are controlled by state and local government, right? There have literally been thousands of police reform budgets, policies, ordinances, and laws that have been put into place over the last year at the state and local level all across the country.
The word “unarmed” is surprisingly missing from all early news accounts of this officer involved shooting.
It’s not surprising at all. It’s responsible reporting not to make assumptions. If they don’t have information they can’t just make it up.

They would say unarmed if they could. They can’t because she was armed with a knife.
They can’t because the police have not made any official statements, except to say there is bodycam footage and to wait for more information.
