The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

It looks like this is an instance of the background check system not working. My understanding is that when someone has been placed on a temporary mental health detention (each state calls it something different), that should go onto their record that is checked during the NICS process. A person would have to petition the court to get their 2nd amendments rights back in this situation. This is another point to remember that when you’re clamoring for an expansion of universal background checks, you’re looking for a flawed system to fix everything when it clearly won’t. I and most other 2nd amendment supporters have no problem with increased investment in the current system to make sure it captures the “nutters” that shouldn’t be allowed to buy guns. We don’t disagree on that point. To any extent that the NRA and 2nd amendment supporters are blocking the NICS system from seeing people the have been legally committed, if that is happening, I am not in agreement with them.

You get no argument from me on that. But when someone shoots up a 12 year old’s birthday party and takes a plea for 3 years with only 6 months to serve because witnesses aren’t willing to testify, how much time do you realistically think the person that sold them the gun is going to get? Remember the key witness testifying against the seller is a person who just shot someone, so not exactly the most reliable of witnesses.

You’ve got to be kidding!!

Blame the seller? When the gun is bought, the original buyer went through the complete checklist. A lot of reasons for selling (get rid of gun) death is one. So the gun is gone.

Gun users now could be another well entente right off protesting or rioting. Well understood, you believe that the buyer is still the problem. Oh well, your problem!

Meed was referring specifically to sellers that know they are breaking the law, which I was replying about.

Any sense of personal responsibility for actions really seems to be a lacking idea in modern maga/QOP

I made no assessments on that event. Someone said they weren’t daily, weekly, or monthly. There were multiple just today, that was one.

It is funny the the response, hypothesizing race having to do with it.

I specifically said TWICE now that mass shooting events where the buyer/shooter used the “gun show loophole” is not a daily, weekly, monthly, or even annual occurrence. Feel free to prove me wrong.

I am not saying you did. I am saying, as a former law enforcement officer, that whatever you are expecting our current criminal justice system to do with people that didn’t actually pull the trigger when they barely lock up the people that do pull the trigger, you will be sorely disappointed.

I never said race had anything to do with it. Reread what I wrote.

Drumpf started trying to cancel businesses that support elections, guess then it’s fair game to cancel the ones that don’t take a stance.

Legal expert Biden knows the right trial outcome, tells everyone before it’s decided?

And I thought Maxine’s jury interference was bad.

Too little too late. The cat is out of the bag on the left’s lies about the GA voting law and no one except the most strident leftists believe its Jim Crow 2.0 anymore, regardless of how much the leftist media try to say so. If Home Depot caves, they are run by idiots.

Looks like he has another foolish politician’s remarks to include in his appeal.

Maybe actually read the article, not the incorrect click-bait title to it?

Biden said nothing of the sort.

Since when is it wrong for him to want the verdict to be correct? He’s supposed to want a wrong verdict?

Biden’s right hand gal is trying to fix his comments up (make them sound presidential), but to late.

As usual, to little, to late.
Got to throw in (loud mouth) Maxine. What a joke!

“Campbell’s research also indicates that these protests correlate with a 10 percent increase in murders in the areas that saw BLM protests. That means from 2014 to 2019, there were somewhere between 1,000 and 6,000 more homicides than would have been expected if places with protests were on the same trend as places that did not have protests.”

The effects of BLM protests is 1,000-6,000 more murders. Damn, VOX! I’m impressed with the honesty.

Pursuant to all the gun talk posts, above, here is my view from 20,000 feet:

Citizens of North Korea, Cuba, and Red China are forbidden ownership of firearms. Totalitarian societies generally do not tolerate an armed populace. With so many Democrats today leaning toward totalitarianism, widespread USA gun ownership is a HUGE problem for them, a massive impediment to fulfillment of their sought-after goal. Democrats will seize upon any catastrophe, employ any and all excuses, to bring gun ownership in America to heel and strip away our second amendment rights which are anathema to them.

As a first step, Democrats would welcome legislation which forces (legal and law abiding) gun owners to make themselves known to government. With such a registry, should they some day gain sufficient power, Democrats would be enabled literally to demand surrender of all weapons in our hands. That way, when their vicious boot heel lands on our collective throats, we would be unable to fight back, resist, and defend our claim to freedom and liberty.

The only interest Democrats actually have in all the mass shootings is their use as a lever to locate and identify and, later, to confiscate our firearms. Any other assertions by them are merely pretensions. In particular, their often stated claim that you do not need this or that more powerful weapon to hunt deer or bear or other game, while true, ignores the utility of such powerful weaponry when the hunt is instead for usurpers.

Your “view” without a basis in fact…

US stands with only Yemen with no permits. Nice to see your allegiance and aspiration to… be like Yemen? You want to emulate an islamic country? I thought all muslims were terrorists?

All western nations require permits, and have various levels of restrictions (most requiring good reason for the permits).

If you are so enamoured of Europe, for example, please move there.

You have my permission to leave ASAP on the next flight out. :innocent:

Notice, too, there are some free people in Greenland. I was unaware. Good to know.

? Greenland requires permits. And for handguns needs a purpose…

You might be colorblind.

Literally the only other country in the world without licenses for handguns or long guns is Yemen…

Edit: I was mistaken. That’s the only one on the map view. There’s some smaller jurisdictions in the table. You’ll still have like-minded company in the Gaza Strip and the rebel held regions of Syria.

Not for all guns. Partial freedom is better than none at all. Not as good in Greenland as here. But better than in Europe. Speaking of which:

Are you posting from the airport?

But you still have like-minded company in Yemen, the Gaza Strip, and rebel-held regions of Syria.

But like shin asked…Are u headed to the airport?

Forgot, have you taken the covid vaccine yet? You’ll need it at the airport.
