Thankfully, Trump is trying to abolish health insurance which is exactly what America needs in a pandemic.
Yes, yes, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do. ![]()
It is impossible to “work across the aisle” when dealing with Marxists. The only option is to educate the populous regarding the benefits of freedom, liberty, and traditional American values, then to do your best to defeat the “free stuff”, “something for nothing”, Santa Claus Marxists at the polls. Capitalism and Marxism are like oil and water: they do not mix.
Marxism is evil. When you compromise with evil you yourself become evil.
Now John Wayne and Woodrow Wilson have made the radical protester hit list. This following their having taken after Honest Abe, Chris Columbus, Andrew Jackson, and Teddy Roosevelt, to say nothing of Washington and Jefferson.
This keeps up pretty soon there won’t be a lot left of the USA I grew up in. Come to think of it, guess that has been their idea from the get go.
Anyone on Mount Rushmore is today merely a target for protest. But to me they all remain national heroes.
It’s a good thing most of us seldom use cash money now, having opted instead for credit cards.
This because if Biden gets in you will no longer be able to recognize your American currency. So many of the great Americans pictured on those bills are on the growing trash heap of reprobates being enlarged daily by Biden’s Democrat supporters.
It’s gonna go a lot further than Harriet Tubman on the twenty, as Obama wanted. Biden will gladly respond to his base and change 'em all!
Wonder what excuse they will concoct to get rid of Ben Franklin. I dunno, but they will come up with some cockamamie reason . . . . you can take that to the bank!!
Wait! I got it!
How about Hillary Clinton on the hundred! Who could be more appropriate? And Hillary has to be much more popular today than old Ben.
Are you referring to this?
You want government to prevent private entities from naming their buildings? Sounds like N Korea might be a better fit, less for you to get outaged about there…
Yes, a radical minority should be able to prevent change of who is held on a pedestal. Oh wait, this is America! Sorry that the will of the people upsets you.
John Wayne was also a racist and should be no one’s hero.
That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy watching old western movies. But society need not revere him.
Just like there will be no reverence for Kevin Spacey, but it’s still fine to enjoy watching House of Cards.
I am. Please understand some of these moves are straightford virtue signalling, perpetrated by cowards intent on currying favor with the leftists/Marxists.
The virtue signalers are equally culpable as the others in tearing down our existing order and culture, which is the underlying principle of all these acts.
Marxists must tear down existing structure to make room for the socialist paradise they all so desperately crave.
Dont pretend to be that naive. You know full well renaming a building wouldnt be anywhere near their list of possible things to consider doing, if they werent receiving outside pressure and want to ensure the building isnt burnt down instead.
Anyone remember the movie PCU? That is what we’re striving to become. We really need to find our Droz… (Oh yeah, we’ve crucified him already.)
But I like John Wayne a LOT, together with millions of other Americans. Are we all to be cast into your pit of vipers?
Wait. Don’t answer that. I already know your answer.
If you like him a lot for THE RACIST HE WAS, then yes. If you enjoy watching the iconic entertainment products of which he was merely a part of, then no, and that was already covered.
I understand this, overall, better than you do. You see, the concept of holding persons from the past to today’s standards is a phony construct designed to provide means to impugn them, hence the existing culture in its entirety.
I do not buy into such BS!!
I’m a racist because I revere slave owners Washington, Jefferson, and so forth. I mean, they actually owned slaves. John Wayne never did!
The entire ruse is one of the largest sacks of crap I’ve ever witnessed, and I do not buy into any of it. These people can go peddle their hate elsewhere. I’m sticking with the country in which I grew up. Screw 'em all!!
Firstly, are you sure? I’m not.
Secondly, what’s the problem with changing up the images on the currency? It happens ALL THE TIME.
I can’t let this one go.
I have an Indiana uncle, a farmer all his life close to 90 yrs old. Recently talked to the family about coping with the pandemic virus. Was told that Uncle John has been watching old John Wayne movies for past time. Yes & he probably is a RACIST, & has always said exactly how he feels about what is happening in our country & daily lives. I’m sure he is a good free loving American Republican.
I contend you don’t really revere any of them. What you revere is the idea of them you have, formed by stories (history classes in school, etc), books, and maybe also monuments and statues you’ve seen.
Consider that it’s reasonable that other people have different images of historical figures, formed through different life experiences.
It’s normal for society to continually re-evaluate who is to be held up as aspirational examples for future generations.
Could you be more specific, please. When were the last two changes and what were they?
And please do not include Harriet. I don’t think she actually made it into circulation. Have you seen a Tubman twenty?
Consider that you are not sticking with “the country”, you are sticking with morals and ideals that the modern society (“the country”) no longer considers appropriate.
I’m not allowed, because of a bunch of Marxist protesters, to revere the father of my country and the author of the Declaration of Independence?
I ask this in all seriousness: Are you nuts? Have you completely lost your mind?
I don’t mean the Federal Reserve Notes, which are just over 100 years old and have had the same men but changes on the back of the bills over the years (plus colors, visible and invisible security features, and other imagery). I mean other countries have changed existing or introduced new imagery, with and without an actual regime change.
That’s bullshit. Period.
He shouldnt be your hero for being racist. But he can be your hero for the slew of other things he’s remembered for.
If you enjoy watching the iconic entertainment products of which he was merely a part of, then no, and that was already covered.
But doesnt that make you a racist, to celebrate those iconic entertainment products that included various forms of racism? These two quotes from you seem awfully hypocritical.
Just like there will be no reverence for Kevin Spacey, but it’s still fine to enjoy watching House of Cards.
I agree with the sentiment. But reality wholeheartedly disagrees. Every allegation comes with an immediate cancellation of that person’s projects. Often past projects are pulled from broadcast circulations as well.
From Wikipedia:
" As a result of the allegations , Netflix cut ties with Spacey , shelving his film Gore and removing him from the last season of House of Cards. Spacey’s role as J. Paul Getty in Ridley Scott’s film All the Money in the World (2017) was reshot with actor Christopher Plummer in his place."
First, I disagree. Tens of millions of living Americans agree with me.
Perhaps even more important, I don’t give a flying f**k what an assemblage of Marxist rabble thinks. Let them all go live in Communist China for all I care, where they will fit right in.
