The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

But none of those things were mandated by an unruly mob, either.

Now we are playing “the black national anthem” before football game?

America is pretty much dead. We’re now just a bunch of individual nations that happen to share the same plot of land. Our home has been reduced to the same status as the Olympics.

And Washington DC is another state with 2 more Dem senators…

Balkanization is what it is, or a form thereof.

America was great when we were a huge melting pot with everyone having a shot at joining in and succeeding. You didn’t do that by, for example, insisting on speaking a language other than English.

Balkanization happens when some groups of newcomers resist the melt and cling to their origins. It does not help when so many of our schools, controlled by liberals, teach the kids that America as founded sucks today and never was any good.

Why the hell would anyone want to make a city - a single, typical city - into a full fledged state? If you’re worried about it’s residents not having representation, have the residential areas annexed by a neighboring state.

Going forward with this means there should be no opposition to the rest of New York state wanting to separate from NYC, LA County becoming its own state, maybe southern FL breaking off into their own state. Each being far more reasonable than taking a city that’s Federal ground by design, and turning it into a state. We will be a 100-state Union by the end of the decade…

There actually was a proposal, for the sake of representation and voting and all that, to return the District to Maryland. Maryland is, after all, a Democrat state . . . so no huge incompatibility, at least not superficially.

But Maryland turned both thumbs down. They do not want the District as part of their state.

Clearly, they’re racists!

Yeah, seems like patty would be more worried about TX splitting into five (soon to be blue) states. 8 more senators.

No way… Leave Texas alone.

Bend3r, I think you live there & gosh, you are probably in the minority. Don’t try to spread bad, bad rumor’s. (beginning to wonder about the Bushes though)

Far ahead of you, pattyb53. I was convinced way back in 2005, when he nominated Harriet Miers for SCOTUS, that something was amiss with Bush Jr… Decided back then to cease support for him and his party. Have not looked back or reconsidered.

Course Bush got his revenge with the successful Roberts nomination. We all know how that is turning out!

Why didn’t Bush just nominate a Democrat for the Court? Clearly that’s what he really wanted to do. But he went with a RINO, instead. Thank goodness Romney didn’t occur to him.

I feel this is an election that will be lost rather than won. Today the left tries harder.

If you had any doubts why you don’t want the people in charge at the big tech companies regulating facts, here’s yet another example. DoublePlusUnGood.

I suspect (but don’t have the expertise or the time to care enough to confirm) that the terms of South’s surrender included something about this – don’t take our property or change our flags, etc. If that’s true, then in a way not banning the symbols was mandated by an unruly mob.

Your outrage is misplaced. It’s really none of anybody’s business what words a company uses in their software or manuals.

As someone who works for a big tech company, I am quite afraid of voicing my actual opinions at my place of work. Yet my more leftist colleagues do it all the time and I just have to sit there, grin, and bear it. I have to pretend to agree or otherwise I risk ruining working relationships because others will write me off as a troublemaker or racist for opposing things like affirmative action or quotas.

IMO, politics in this day and age have no place in the workplace. I just want to do my job, do it well, and collect a paycheck to support my family. I don’t care what others political opinions are; they have nothing to do with my ability to do my job as a software engineer. I don’t care if you’re left, right, libertarian, or socialist, if you do your job well, I will respect you. All I ask is for the same in return.

Texas turning blue is not a rumor it’s widely accepted. The timeline though previously was ~10-15 years out. Welcoming the racists (and Trump being a Democrat) pushed out most reasonable people from the former Republican party. So now we’ve already had some offices flip and we’re probably 0-4 years out for a statewide office flip.

This is great except the people putting others’ families at risk because they don’t respect them enough to inconvenience themselves to wear masks where appropriate (and/or where required by corporate policy). If they’re so afraid of wearing a mask they should stay home instead of trying to sabotage the economy.

I kid you not, at my company there was finally a company wide email last week from the COO specifically calling out management violating themselves and not enforcing policy (that we’ve had for months now…).
They only care now that there’s swaths of people missing labor who can’t work for a ~month, so it’s hitting the bottom line.

You do indeed. The left is a study in intolerance. They also have no respect whatsoever for speech freedom of those who refuse to swallow their Kool-Aid. Try to speak the truth and they will shout you down, if they are able; anything to shut you up.

If they ever gain real power, watch for their re-education camps. And if those fail to indoctrinate you, watch for their firing squads. They hate America as founded, but most of all they abhor our Constitution because it limits the power of government, their deity. This while simultaneously denying the primacy, and often even the existence, of Almighty God.

“There is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted and punished. Not going to happen to us.”

“Make no mistake, this left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution. In so doing, they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence and hunger and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery and progress. To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol and memory of our national heritage.”

Words of undeniable truth spoken earlier at Mt. Rushmore by a great President, Donald J. Trump.
