The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

I think scripta is more confused by your insisting that quietly kneeling is so disrespectful, then agreeing with my comment that being polite and not disrupting others is what respect really means.

I only find players kneeling to be disrespectful to their team/employer - they’re doing their own thing on company time in the company uniform, when they should be following company rules whatever they may be. But I dont understand why anyone, on any side, for any of the countless reasons being tossed around, considers this so dang important. You’d think that these players were chasing around the color guard with a flame thrower, the way people have reacted.

I think he goes down in history as a hero of the liberal extreme. Who else could’ve rallied all the outrage and action to make the far left agenda the prevailing “norm”? Almost literally no one else could’ve given them such a foothold on the national stage.

From the day he entered the race, I thought he could be a great (inadvertently) uniting figure - everyone would get together behind his back and say “this is the next dumb thing he wants, lets head this off and agree to something more reasonable that we can all live with.” But alas, while I see rather obvious solutions, most think they can solve problems just by being the one yelling the loudest.

This is the players job. Would you defy your boss & do your own thing? I don’t think so. These player’s are paid tons of dough.

If Trump had his way to the player’s who kneel during the NA it would be. “Your Fired!!”

Liberal left democrats seem to go right along with BLM. Those dems never say stop to anything BLM does. Peaceful protestor’s is just another way for BLM to pull in more looters & killer’s. Look at Seattle & Portland…

It is wrong… IMO…

I think I have a pretty good grasp on this concept. I was confused exactly by what glitch described here:

You, patty, write one thing, but then like and agree with the opposite of what you wrote. This is the second time you’ve done that. Earlier I suspected that you hold opposing positions simultaneously (which could lead to cognitive dissonance), but now I think you are just not paying attention to what other users are writing before you respond.

Get out your psychology book again.

You can’t make me think or consider if two opposing things can both make sense at the same time! That’s why I pay for cable, I let Tucker Carlson’s writer do the thinking for me!
“Thinking”'s for poor people. Get a job you lazy lib!
You’re cancelling my culture by electing officials that are removing Confederate traitor statues and names from prominent public areas. And you’re putting up with those athletes expressing “political” views by kneeling before sports games, not being outraged and boycotting! (Oh wait… Fox bundles the sports channels with my “News” entertainment channels… So I’m unable to even boycott if I weren’t a pansy too lazy to actually do that rather than continually being “outraged”, because I can’t lose my “news”! Nevermind… Facts don’t matter so that’s not relevant. You’re just trying to trick me to do liberal “thinking” again! Like they do at all those schools! Edit: Those same schools that MUST immediately open at 100% capacity in-person, regardless of a locally uncontrolled pandemic. Wait, why do “I” want them open if they’re just going to indoctrinate kids with “liberal” nonsense??? He’s just going to say that’s more cognitive dissonance)

Oh yes, Tucker is ok, but my Fox favorite is Laura Ingraham. Gotta watch every night.

Now that should make all you liberal looney’s feel good. She watches Fox News…

Sorry, Actually there are only a couple folks here that fall in that category.

No amount of unpacking will fix this one.

No human being alive is more capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory than Donald Trump. Like as not he will go off on Rosie or on Joe Scarborough and make a fool of himself. But for the moment he is keeping his big yap closed and is riding high:

Rasmussen now has Trump scoring a 51% approval among likely voters. Straight up, this is victory territory. Sorry, I cannot account for this and I do not understand why America is liking Trump more. His approval has not been this high in a long while. But it gets better:

Biden is struggling. He is having difficulty making his VP choice. Some are attributing Biden’s decision making predicament to his cognitive decline. I’m not in that camp . . . . yet. But for whatever reason, Biden is on the horns of a serious dilemma and Trump is fixin’ to pounce. Politics is a blood sport and Trump has suffered many wounds up until now. But going forward he just might inflict a few if Biden continues unable to make up his mind.

Cat fight

Adding to Biden’s woe is the cat fight which it appears has broken out among his many female VP wannabes. I do not blame the ladies. Biden earlier promised a decision by now and they all are on edge. His inability to arrive at a choice has to be unnerving for the many contenders.

Trump makes a great many decisions disliked by millions of Americans. But he makes decisions, love 'em or hate 'em. Biden has only a single important decision to make at this point. And all we hear is the sound of crickets.

On second thought

I wrote above could not understand why America is liking Trump more. Thought about it. Now I understand:

America is NOT liking Trump more. America is liking the other side, those opposed to Trump, less. Writing that, I do not have Biden so much in mind. The people I have in mind are Biden’s supporters . . . . the rioters, the anarchists, and yes even to an extent the legitimate protesters.

In the words of the immortal bard:

Methinks thou dost protest too much

There are limits to all things. The American people may have reached their limit, leaving Trump as the only remaining option.

You assume we’ll know by then… IMO, by Thanksgiving we’ll be knee deep into court battles (about voting fraud) which could make Thanksgiving dinner even worse.

The line is “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”, and it does not mean what you think it means. “Protest” does not refer to objection, dissent, or disapproval, but to affirmation.

“Don’t you dare tell people there’s widespread virus and to wear masks!!! It’s disappeared like a miracle and we’re just testing more so we have more cases!”

I gotta say, this is not how I expected a BLM protest to “spiral out of hand”.

Still not a great show by the NYers regarding the pandemic.

The funny thing is, at this point Trump is pretty much the only person who has not said “Swallow Lysol”.

And I’m confused was Trump tweeting how Birx “took the bait” the entirely of his so-called criticism? Because that’s all that is mentioned in that article, and that’s a very…generous characterization of it. You’re own commentary that you added is completely fabricated.

???

That’s the entirety of what Dr birx said that Trump was complaining about… Not a “completely fabricated” ommentary.

“Don’t you dare tell people there’s widespread virus and to wear masks!!! It’s disappeared like a miracle and we’re just testing more so we have more cases!”

Where is this from then? Cause it didnt come from the article you did link.

Those are the two things Birx said… And then Trump complained. I did not say that was a direct quote from anyone, that was my characterization. But that’s the only two things she said. And Trump has said the related testing is making the cases and it will disappear hundreds of times… (Both of which are opposite of it being widespread now)

I’m confused - is it yours or is it not yours?

Besides, the point was that the article, and yourself, had to make an impressively huge leap to get there from “She took the bait”.

I’d love to see Trump tweet out just a bunch of periods. No letters or numbers whatsoever. Just to see how you go about interpreting (I’m sorry, how you go about educating me about) what ridiculous and outrageous thing he was really saying.

I understood that quote to be a joke written by Bend3r, because I just can’t see either Trump or Birx using those words (but they are in character). But I can see why you’re confused, he wrote it in quotes right under a link to an article.

Cut it out @Bend3r, not everyone has your sense of humor :face_with_monocle: :robot:

On this forum and especially in this thread, a poorly attributed quote leads to civil unrest, apparently. :flags: :pirate_flag:
