The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Liberal democrats so enjoy the thought of any sign to suggest a reason to go for another impeachment try.

Didn’t work last time!

Except the Federalist Society is CONSERVATIVE! Had you only bothered reading the article…

Yeah, it’s long overdue to acknowledge that this is Trump verses the establishment, not Republican verses Democrat. Those Republicans siding with Trump are doing so mostly under the premise that the enemy of my enemy is my friend; they’re just working together.

It’s Trump versus the Constitution and everything that’s good and decent.

No way, No how! You told me yesterday how you felt about my posting.

I was only trying to help and explain that nobody expects an instant response. Is that what you are referring to?

It has nothing to do with posting informed opinions. I welcome your informed opinions. I don’t think anyone wants uninformed opinions.

Obviously all about feeding the racist supporters, numbers of “retweets”

Kneeling is not universally recognized as a sign of respect for the national anthem. Name one non-islamic country which kneels for the national anthem.

Do you also support their right, and believe that it is a sign of respect for children to kneel at the beginning of their school day, or that high school football players kneel in prayer before a football game?

The definition of class.

How open minded.

Right. But I consider “respect” to be measured more by what you dont do than what you do. Being disrespectful is watching youtube on your phone during the anthem. Being disrespectful is telling jokes and harassing those around you during the anthem. These players are being very respectful of others (and I’ve seen plenty of instances over time, of a player standing yet being quite disrespectful).

You can criticize their beliefs, if you must, but such lashing out is what would be disrespectful. It’s like a non-Catholic not reciting whatever it is they recite when attending a Catholic service. Sitting politely while not participating is inherently respectful.

So true…

My parents were divorced, my sister & I would take the Greyline bus to visit our father. He lived near relatives in a “redneck” community. So different for us.

We were taught to be respectful & just be quiet if things happened. Their religion practices was one thing we had never seen before. So one Sunday we attended church & we sat quietly when the real commotion began.

We had a big laugh when we were alone. Lesson’s learned are never forgotten.

I’m confused by (1) what glitch wrote and (2) why patty liked it. Someone break it down.

Thank you.

I get your point, and think that you listed several disrespectful activities. I’ve got two questions though, using your example (with a change from Catholic to Baptist/Methodist/Pentecostal). If asked to stand and sing from page xx of the hymnal, would you consider it respectful if I just sat there instead of standing (not necessarily singing)?

I didn’t realize that I was questioning their beliefs, but even if I were, would you consider that lashing out? If so, I’ve fallen into the wrong snowflake field.

You must be old. We don’t break things down anymore. We unpack them. :upside_down_face:

I can’t answer part one, but I believe Patty likened not laughing at the holy rollers (while in their church) to being respectful. On second thought, I may have completely wrinkled everything while unpacking it.

I’ve got bum knees and I’m deaf. You don’t want me standing or singing. Mind your own business!

Who in their right mind would consider it disrespectful if someone does not participate, but is otherwise not disruptive? If you don’t know them, you can’t know why they aren’t standing or singing.

I’ve got gorgeous knees and only tone deaf. Consequently, I pull up my pantaloons so no one will notice the off-key-ness of my voice.

I like him more each day. He tweaks people better than any high ranking politician I can recall.

I guess I am, but not as old as you!

Yes, I guess scripta just doesn’t understand what being respectful really means. Maybe he was never taught early in life & I guess we can’t blame him for that.

Yes I have seen folks at MBA games laughing & joking as the National Anthem is being sung or played or even playing with their phone.

It is being disrespectable IMO.

Not nice… one poster wrote, “raised with the wolves”.

But I wouldn’t blame his family or his upraising. He’s just part of the 25% that nothing can ever help The way they are heading or continue is just unmanageable.
