The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 2)

Sure, just like Biden said “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids”. We know what he meant.

Difficult to say. Might be that horse has already left the barn:

From CNBC:

Inflation climbs higher than expected in June as price index rises 5.4%

Link to CNBC inflation story dated 13 July 2021

Not really expectin’ confirmation of my earlier assertion this quickly. Deny having had advance notice when I posted yesterday. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bidenomics is not new where inflation is concerned. Democrat icon Jimmy Carter did it years ago. I well recall the horror show.

ETA

Also nota bene from that same article:

Stripping out volatile food and energy prices, the core CPI rose 4.5%, the sharpest move for that measure since September 1991 and well above the estimate of 3.8%.

Thanks to the geniuses who voted for Biden. You richly deserve the economic hardships awaiting you . . . . but your kids and grandkids do not.

Half of that 5.4% is because of just two things – used cars and gasoline. Pretty sure used car prices aren’t going up anymore.

Deny all you want, the May CPI increase was 5% and that’s all anybody has been talking about.

You’re assigning credit / blame to where little is due. Election had nothing to do with used car prices, gasoline prices, airfare prices, supply chain problems that are causing other prices to rise, etc.

That is because the even worse June numbers were just released.

I’m betting you are one of those genius Biden voters . . . . . if you voted at all. Just deserts.

Why don’t you stick to the subject matter and the points I made instead of slinging mud?

I’m not talking about what you are or are not.

Election had everything to do with American deterioration ever since you elected a cellar-dwelling fool as leader of the free world.

You made no valid points whatsoever in my view. You spew Democrat party socialist drivel.

OK so you are saying that the following things I stated are Democrat party socialist drivel:

  • Half of that 5.4% is because of just two things – used cars and gasoline. Pretty sure used car prices aren’t going up anymore.
  • the May CPI increase was 5% and that’s all anybody has been talking about.
  • Election had nothing to do with used car prices, gasoline prices, airfare prices, supply chain problems that are causing other prices to rise, etc.

Seriously?

From the Bogleheads on left-wing academics and the Fed’s attitude towards inflation:

I’m much more concerned that the Federal Reserve is increasingly acting and talking like inflation isn’t a priority. Earlier this year, the Federal Reserve was denying inflation was a problem and refused to move their forecast numbers—which we’ve blown past. Then they claimed it would be transitory and end quickly (again—while I do agree with the transistors point, they were way too optimistic about the inflation ending by late summer). Now I occasionally hear Powell speaking about how higher inflation is beneficial. And of course, the Federal Reserve has “clarified” that it’s 2% inflation target is not a ceiling, but a long term average. These signals (ie denial, downplay, desirable) strike me as a Federal Reserve that is shifting its attitude towards inflation and may signal higher inflation in the future. People oftentimes forget that there is a real shift occurring in economics PhD programs—there are far more modern monetary theorists or people who focus in inequalities than there used to be and the people who lived through the 1970s are aging out of the profession. This might be creating a focus shift in priorities that is gradually manifesting even at the Federal Reserve.

Edit. This sums up Fed’s policy

I’ll beg to differ here. (what’s new?)

I actually have an opinion that the presidential election of Joe Biden has everything to do with rising prices.

First of all our economy was moving along fairly well under the leadership of the President Trump. Even though the COVID pandemic caused a problem. President Trump quickly got a “heads up” to start control efforts.

Of course with the election of Biden, all prosperity came to screaming halt. Anything Trump has to end. Not in the future but cut off right now.

Stopping the good, the bad & the ugly. Open up those borders, the Green New Deal (causing upped used car prices). Electric cars are in, electric prices are up, etc

A little touchy about “who voted for whom”. Most Republicans don’t mind.

Onward and upward, getting ready for 2022 election.

Can’t get worse, same President but less liberal loonies beside him. lol

It was still higher than expected, but yes, most of that was expected. Market commentary -

CPI came in hotter than expected, with a 5.4% jump year-over-year verses expectations for a 4.9% increase, the yield curve flattened with traders putting on bets that the Federal Reserve would stomp out higher prices with interest rate hikes (so much so that the longer-end of the curve is getting close to inverting as the spread between 20-year and 30-year U.S. Treasuries narrows).

While the other things you mentioned are partisan talking points and can be argued until the end of time, the following just don’t make sense:

That does not make sense. Used car prices are up for reasons that have nothing to do with this.

They have been in for a long time, way before the election.

Do you mean electricity? I haven’t seen any indication that electricity prices are up this year any more than any previous year.

See, this here is an opinion. Calling it a fact is the lie.

Y’all keep claiming the calls of fraud are baseless, simply because there are no ‘extra’ votes identified. But unilaterally changing the rules in advance of the election is in itself fraud, especially when the changes tend to primarily benefit one candidate’s base. It may or may not have effected the final outcome, we will never know, but it’s stil manipulating the process.

All the election laws we see being enacted now are not suppressing anything, they’re to ensure that we dont have another election with the person in charge arbitrarily deciding to tweak the rules. There are no Republican efforts to restrict voting, there are Republican efforts to ensure changes in voting rules follow the proper procedure and comply with the actual law, not what a handful of people think should be the law.

It’s been said many times - this was entirely avoidable had you addressed the concerns last summer and fall, rather than put your fingers in your ears and pretend not to hear any complaints until after it was too late to do anything. You can try to point fingers to deflect blame, the responsibility for what we see today is entirely on your own shoulders. Just because you dont want to be responsible doesnt make such claims lies.

I could probably even muster up some respect for someone who says “Whatever you think we did, we got away with it, so suck it.”. But no, you can’t even do that - in addition to being entitled to do whatever you want, your self-righteous arrogance requires that everyone agree that you did the right thing or be denounced as a terrible person. Obviously, the former without the latter would entitle everyone to do whatever they want, and some would do things without your approval - and we can’t have that happening.

Probably true, I tend Conservative.

I said, the election of Joe Biden has everything to do with rising prices. You want to argue that my statements mentioned don’t make sense. Your opinion!

I actually think electric cars are the sign of the future. My son and wife have one and have it powered up nightly. I would still say that as more electricity is used, naturally the price will increase.

Again you like to find errors in my writing skills. Yes it’s electricity prices, not electric prices.

Also the Green New Deal will cause higher prices on many items. You can say it anyway you wish.

That’s my opinion and I’m sticking with it…

I’ll respond to your naked link plus post. It’s a naked link with quotes from the article but nothing from you as to what the point is. Do you think we should outlaw Fracking? Or all fossil fuels?

The report is by “physicians for social responsibility” a left wing, social justice, radical group

PSR mobilizes physicians and health professionals to advocate for climate solutions and a nuclear weapons-free world.

The chemicals have not been produced in the United States since 2012. They claim that they can be imported but they don’t support that and they do not show that they actually are imported.

Yup, he’s so repulsive that he stopped the ongoing importation of banned chemicals that started and continued under Obama’s watch…

I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard even his most invested supporters accuse Trump of being a saint. Not sure why you think anyone cares about a 20 year old comment that everyone has already repeatedly said they don’t care about?

if you are referring to me, your mind reading is way off. I’m not threatened at all.

So what is your point? Why did you post this “straightforward reporting about science and industrial activities”?

It’s not my opinion – it’s fact. I was not picking on your writing skills, I just did not know if you were talking about the price of electricity or the price of electric cars. I don’t know if electric cars went up in price since last year, but I do know that there was no significant increase in the cost of electricity – it’s up 3.8% (source), and even that is probably because oil is up 45%.

The Green New Deal is not a done deal. It may cause some prices to rise in the future, I suppose (and it may cause other prices to go down, who really knows now?), but it did not cause prices of used cars to rise 29% since last year.

That’s the quote in question? That’s not “mocking”, that’s more of a compliment, and friendly ribbing. I know saying that a guy is lucky to have such a woman is considered sexist, racist, facist, and whatever other -ists you can come up with, by the guys who just make up their own definitions for ‘nasty’ words so they can be used to push a narrative. But with all the other made-up crap that’s been put out there, I shouldnt be surprised that someone insists on twisting this into some sort of hostile situation.

And what’s up with that completely irrelevant embedded hyper link?

I’m sure these Fulton county GA election irregularities are nothing. Seems like a few thousand net votes from provable double counting, as well as some fraudulent summary sheets where they reported batches as 100% from Biden when it was only 2:1 or something. Margin of victory was 12,000.

See the video at the bottom for a presentation showing the exact duplicates being counted from mail in scans, etc.
