The 2024 election politics

My point was that this wasn’t a revolt from within party leadership, it was what the “common citizens” wanted. It doesn’t matter how they arrived at what they wanted.

Democracy in action, Democrat style

As calls for him to bow out mounted, Biden insisted he would continue, but party bigwigs threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution.

So either he is unfit for office and they should remove him anyway and let Kamala take over per the succession rules, or else it was a threat to use the 25th when they knew he was still fit, in which case it was a real political coup.

Sounds like it was a lot worse than Covid. If the reports are right, they basically were half way thru rushing him to a hospital when they decided to medi-vac him back to the east coast from the Vegas thing he was doing.

Puts the “resignation by tweet” into the more questionable category too.

Kamala critics

  • Shriver calls Kamala “an intellectual lightweight—and I’m being polite. She cannot think on her feet. I’ve never heard her say anything original or observant; at her best, she simply recites the party line. At her worst, she’s too lazy to memorize the party line, for she has a history of not bothering to do her homework before official appearances.” (UnHerd )

  • a lot of the things we knew were bad about Kamala Harris are still bad about Kamala Harris. We just forgot. One of them: she seems to be a bad boss. Ninety percent of the staff Harris began her vice presidential stint with have since left. (National Review)

  • One of Harris’s biggest weaknesses as a candidate is that she was Joe Biden’s vice president, claimed to be working with him every day, and yet stayed mum about his undeniable decline. And the history of sitting vice presidents running for the top job does not augur well. (Politico)

head of Secret Service out. good riddance - not just a bad job of course, but lying to the congress panel too.

Meanwhile, Biden still not been seen publicly. We were told he had planned a speech for tonight, to talk up Kamala’s campaign and explain his withdrawal, but mysteriously that’s been delayed to Wed evening instead. hmm.

Why is this making me remember the movie “Dave”? President suffers a stroke so staff hire an impersonator to fill in. Eventually they accomplish what they needed to and the charade starts to wear thin, so they stage a medical emergency and swap the comatose real President back in for the impersonator.

We call for the Rules Committee to create a process that allows for public participation in the nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates. The current political landscape is unprecedented, with President Biden stepping aside in a manner never seen before. This moment calls for decisive action to protect the integrity of our democracy and the voices of Black voters.

Remember how Kamala was in charge of doing nothing to the border earlier in Biden’s term?

No you don’t, you far right Racist. That was fake news.

Just to make sure readers understand that Axios , in 2021, in no way intended to provide Republicans, in 2024, with a talking point that might help Donald Trump, Axios has added an editor’s note at the bottom of the new piece: “This article has been updated and clarified to note that Axios was among the news outlets that incorrectly labeled Harris a ‘border czar’ in 2021.”

Time weighed in with its own dispatch (“Kamala Harris Was Never Biden’s ‘Border Czar’ ”), as did USA Today (“Harris’ Border Work Was on ‘Root Causes’ of Migration; She Wasn’t in Charge”), and CBS (“The Facts about Kamala Harris’ Role on Immigration in the Biden Administration”), and The New York Times (“Why Republicans Keep Calling Kamala Harris the ‘Border Czar’” ).

And drawing the appropriate conclusion

There was something just more than a teensy bit Bolshevik about all of this. This piece of information that was once considered a fact—as in, a week ago—has in the past 48 hours been deemed politically unhelpful, and so we’re just going to make it. . . disappear.

Clearly the above are fake-news publications and deserve to be ridiculed and any who reads or subscribes to them likewise. They are willing to lie to you and should not be trusted on anything.

Axios, NYT, Time, USA Today, CBS News - are all fake news organs of the Democrat autocracy

Here is the transcript of the speech

Basically he says he quit the race because he was going to lose the election and that electing Trump would end democracy. I do not buy that. Yes, he was behind, but there’s still three months until the election. I realize that in places like California, that has all vote by mail, ballots will be mailed October 7. But the Democrats will win California.

The left media are totally uninterested in this, but maybe the conservative media will find out what the offer was that Biden could not refuse.

There’s ONLY three months until the election. And you don’t buy it because you’ve been fed a steady stream of bull.

The answer was in the speech: “In recent weeks, it has become clear to me that I need to unite my party”

The calls to drop out were seen as divisions within the party. He wouldn’t win if he couldn’t get 100% of Democrats’ votes.

There’s a big difference between:

and

The reason for the calls to drop out was that it’s clear that Biden is not mentally competent to be president now and certainly not for the next four years. It was not the poll numbers. They were only a few percentage points in the swing states. Other candidates like HW Bush in 1988 made up much larger differences against Dukakis. Biden was insisting a few weeks ago that the polls were wrong.

Lol, stop trying to make sense and kiss the ring of Queen Kamala

If this is a racist and sexist nation, nominate with that in mind. One of the bizarre elements of progressive rhetoric right now is this combination of beliefs:

  1. We have to defeat Donald Trump at all costs
  2. This country is filled with racism and sexism
  3. We have a moral duty to nominate a Black woman for the presidency

Doesn’t make a ton of sense, right?

she has never received a single vote from any voters outside of California, ever, in her political career

it was never a primary! No one ever thought it was a primary! Please don’t insult my intelligence. You can argue that Biden was handed the nomination because he was the president and that’s what parties do, OK. That’s true, parties do that. But please, drop the pretense that there was some sort of rigorous Democratic primary process here. There wasn’t.

She was also the most liberal senator back in 2019 before she ended up as VP. You know, pitching free healthcare for illegals and stuff like that.

But not anymore. Your memory just means you’re some far right bigot, since that never happened either, just like how she was never in charge of the border.

Interesting political speculation and follow up on his previously accurate guesses on removing Biden last year. Some of the start is dated since it’s from earlier this week and things are moving fast, but the end was interesting.

Even if Trump goes on to win the election on Nov. 5, the Democrats still have one trick up their sleeves. On Jan. 6, 2025, they will introduce a resolution declaring Donald Trump an “insurrectionist” under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

If that passes, Trump’s electoral votes can be discarded. Kamala (or whomever) will not have 270 votes to win. This means the election goes to the House of Representatives (the new House elected on Nov. 5, not the existing House). In that case, anything can happen including a compromise Nikki Haley presidency. Something like that did happen in 1800 and again in 1824.

As Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
