Individual Stock Discussions

Aapl’s my 2nd largest holding.

It is always more interesting to post a trade when you make it and not when it has already made you significant money. Not that anybody would think you are lying, but it does help to keep the bragging to a minimum if people post the investment before it makes you a boatload of cash.

That’s fair. And I would have, but I forgot. Plus, paper trading account trades are probably not as well appreciated I would guess. But I can post my pretend trades if it’s of interest to anyone.

I bought AIEQ in my paper account a few days ago…down a bit since then.

What are some good long-term buys that aren’t overvalued?

Please no paper trades.

Just shy of $10,000 for me today. Doesn’t count the 140 shares I hold long term.

I should have posted before the trade and I will try to do that from now on. But if you know me from FW you know I put out the good and the bad.

25% annual return is not slow. The past 5 years have made us bold.

Wow totally missed gains in the stock market since trump was elected FML

Holding DAL, Gild, DIS, DWDP, JBLU and a bunch of cash. All losers

Sold 2 covered callls for sep 2018, 165 strike, $14.45. AAPL has been my only individual stock holding for a while, and I think next year I can take some additional gains tax-wise if I sell (sitting on $20k gains with a $40k position).

I don’t understand (not a first for me). You bought one contract on 10/23 for $10,906.33. On 10/27 you sold 2 contracts for ~$20,748.23. However, the 2nd contract is covered by 100 of your 140 shares, no?

Oh, and congrats on the long term holding. I remember buying their IPO, and selling on the way up, to where I was completely out when it became a triple. :face_plant:

Sorry, I didn’t put how many of each I had. I bought 2 and sold one early AM to protect some cash. I then let the second one ride and sold when the upward momentum had stalled.

Now TMUS is trading near $63. Trend is up. Watch it trade above $66 soon.

Aapl finally past $165. Just took 2 months.

Looks like the Sprint / TMO merger might be called off. Both companies tanked at the end of the day yesterday.

Probably going to jinx things. I think 2017 may make up for poor 2015 and 2016. With exactly 2 months to go, RIRA is up 39% YTD and taxable is up 46% YTD. 401/403 is up roughly 6% YTD, 23% including contributions.
I might look to switching part of my AAPL to something else soon. Seems like the repatriation tax deal is taking forever.

I finally crossed $250 k in my taxable, even with $5k net withdrawals.

Getting close to $500k NW.

You still have lots of UA?
