Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts

I did mine a little differently. You’re not making much interest in either acct. (I couldn’t qualify for the Accelerate Savings) So I kept both regular savings & checking both open, $50k in checking & $1. in savings. The winner is the $700 bonus at the end of the period.

In the end I had a total of $50,714.72 & I think Shandril had $50,738. She gained a little more interest in the ASA. But a very nice deal in these trying money times of today.

Thank you! I am a little confused here. If money in the Accelerate Savings account (ASA) counts, why would you suffer the crappy 0.1% APY? Why not have something like

Checking $100
Savings $100
ASA $49,800

EDIT: Upon second reading, I think what you are saying is that the $50k needs to be in Checking or Savings (but not the ASA). Money in the ASA counts towards meeting the monthly fee waiver but does not count towards the qualification for the bonus. Is this correct?

Correct. Basically the terms of the offer force you to have the $50k in the Priority Checking + Citi Saving. Money in ASA basically don’t contribute to meeting the requirement of the offer. Once you complete the requirement of leaving $50k for 60 days in the Priority Checking + Citi Saving, then you can just use the ASA to avoid the monthly fee while waiting until they deposit the bonus on your checking account.

I had to have them spell it out when I tried to replace the Citi Savings account by an ASA account right after signing up.

Well here goes…I see lots of time wasted by folks here dabbling in miniscule interest rates…calling in/trying to renew old rates and basically not getting any bonuses or interest rate bumps. Plus time on phone. Well as I said before in various posts, why even bother? I do not go into groceries or Wmart till I get the vaccine so no MS (a heavy hitter too). I now do many checking/savings bonuses with NO long time to tie up funds either. I use my 2 sons and wife (with their permission of course)to open acct. probably received 3k already plus about 6k in process. All from home on desktop and no phone calls and talking to reps who give out wrong info anyway. I keep track the old fashioned way. Pen and paper and list all the rules/ddeposit info/etc

im continuing here; Some of the accts bonuses have expires now, some still going now. WF 3 accts for 400 bonus, already rec’d…PNC 3 accts 300 bonus. Already received. Was in process of a WF biz bonus for 1k when virus hit, red’d the 1k last month. (I don’t count this one as a bonus as it was pre covid 19) but had to do in person with an old biz that is no more, but I keep my NYState reg cert in biz name and pay the 15.00 yearly fee just for biz bonuses. HSBC 2 accts for 700 each[paid out monthly, in last month, got 600 on each already. HSBC Fusion biz checking opened via referral for 350.00/ TD 500 on 3 accts for savings and checking ,not paid yet…long wait of 140 days, pay out is 12/20 with this bank…Santander…3 accts for 225.00 each, also still waiting for another 30 days. Citizens 400 on 2 accts opened last month…and the best now going on… Cap 1 360 for a 400.00 bonus plus BBVA for 250.

Plus very easy rules to follow and DD are all from banks that count as DD even though ACH from WF and Alliant and BOA have not worked on some banks, even tho data points state otherwise. I constantly monitor coding so as to tell if deposit was DD or not. Wf=90% coding as DD/Alliant only 50% and BOA (3.00 fee) not very reliable. I had done the 5k DD for PNC with Alliant and checked that it was coded as on online xfer. So Immediately sent 5k from WF, coded as DD. All I do now is just move money around in the AM and do my own things rest of day. Only glitch is TD. For the 200 bonus you need 20k in savings for 90 days. Im past that but ill leave it anyway for 1 more month till bonus hits. have 2 accts there so will xfer out most when bonus hits. BTW I park funds in HMBradley but have not withdrawn any $ yet. Im retired so started this in March when virus hit. its a science to me now. The current BBVA is sneaky. you have to leave the funds there for 12 months or bonus is deducted. Ill pass on that. Another easy is Citizens bank 400 bonus.

I got an email from Capital One this morning. Don’t know if it’s already on this thread, so just in case…

Well…even if someone ties up thousands of dollar undertaking such bonuses, they still need a plan for the tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of cash they have left. Staying on top of liquid interest rates is not the same as ignoring bonus opportunities, you can do both.

its one of the best ones out there. Easy. Just 2 DD totaling 1k. No fees/no minimums .Only problem is they have not had a checking bonus in years, so not many data points as to what counts as DD. But some sites state PNC and Ally.

I have been transferring bonuses to my 2 main checking accts and closing a few when they are ok to close. I put the funds into my no interest checking for bill pays and Alliant savings. And repeat all over again. Some banks do not accept Alliant as DD, so we have to check all the time.

I have a question for the experts… If I had the Orange ING account like a decade ago, would that prevent me from getting this kind of bonus?

No, they apparently did away with one-bonus-per-lifetime language. Just read the terms, they mention how long you must not have had an account or received another bonus in order to qualify for this bonus.
