Does the coronavirus merit investment, or personal, concern or consideration?

The best kind of not knowing.

Feel free to look up the hospitalization reporting standards and their changes and report back if I’m wrong

I think I’ll just go look for retweets on Twitter. I’m an “informed” voter, I do research!! TrumpPutin 2020!

Much better source of information than public health officials. They’re all Democrats! When they say the sky is blue, people ‘in the know’ on Twitter know its really green!

(Lol just saw an interview of an “undecided” voter who is “leaning” to Trump, cited twitter and Facebook “research”)

That’s a big “if”. The Polish women who want an abortion for reasons that are not legal in Poland can easily cross the border and get it done.

Well, yeah, the total is what it is. Either you fear what might happen, or you look at what is likely to happen.

That’s a result of the panic, that’s driven by the hype.

White House Chief of Staff reveals Trump Pandemic Plan!

Well, why didn’t they just say so from the start? I guess not taking preventive measures, encouraging others not to take preventive measures, and making the White House the hottest spot in the country for new infections was all part of the plan.

The vaccine cannot be released while it’s under audit. Like Trump’s health care plan, his pandemic plan, his secret plan to defeat ISIS, his plans for a second term, and his taxes.

Do any Trump supporters want to see these things? I’m just asking because he’s been promising to reveal these for four years now.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Vaccines aren’t audited. Depending on the phase 3 ongoing trial results, it will be eligible for FDA approval upon trial completion and/or emergency authorization sooner with promising interim review results.

I’ve noticed, But one can learn. I learn new things every day.

“White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows stunningly admitted this morning that the administration has given up on even trying to control this pandemic, that they’ve given up on their basic duty to protect the American people,” the former vice president said.

…except that this “duty” was taken from him back in March, when state governors vigerously insisted that he had no authority to make such decisions.

This response (Biden’s) also makes it pretty clear that if Biden does win on Nov 3, you should run to the grocery store and buy as much food as you can store, because come January 20 everyone will be placed under house arrest for a month or two.

I think he was trying to be sarcastic.

More sarcastic remarks!!

Mark Meadows was correct, this pandemic is a virus just like the flu. We are going to control it when we get #1 FDA approved vaccines.

Sleepy Joe has no remedy. He’s just slow & no go. All talk & no action. (I know he’s not the President)

The Worst Virus Outbreaks in the U.S. Are Now in Rural Areas

“Now about 1 in 4 deaths from the virus is recorded in a rural county…Now, with the national case count and hospitalization rates approaching a third peak, none of the country’s biggest hot spots are in a large city. Almost all the counties with the largest outbreaks have populations under 50,000, and most have populations under 10,000. Nearly all are in the Midwest or the Mountain West.”

"Earlier this month, hospitals in North Dakota had to turn patients away. Bismarck, the state’s capital, had one staffed intensive care unit bed available as of Monday.

“Overwhelmed by the record case numbers, North Dakota suspended its contact-tracing program this past week. New Mexico’s governor, also seeing hospital beds fill up in her state, plans to put in effect new restrictions on restaurants, bars and retail stores.”

It’s likely to mean more deaths and more severe cases as hospitals are often far away and overwhelmed.

It may have something to do with a lot of people in these areas falling for the Trump hoax that the coronavirus isn’t real and not taking any preventive measures.

Did anybody posting here fall for the Trump hoax that the coronavirus isn’t real, that it will disappear like a miracle, that if we stop testing it will go away, that you don’t have to wear a mask or take preventive measures?

He made the White House a covid-19 hotspot.

Question: Why blame China for this if it’s not real? Did any Trump supporters note this little bit of illogic?

Would you please just stop already? Posting the same passive agressive crap over and over only proves that you’re one of those tunnel visioned fear mongering Trump haters. And we’re already well aware of that.

The areas in the US with the worst Covid 19 outbreaks are areas without a mask mandate – rural areas, some counties and states, and the White House. Death rates might get worse as hospitals and medical facilities are overwhelmed.

Trump’s policy of saying up is down, black is white, covid 19 doesn’t exist and preventive measures don’t work is on a par with the worst of Communist Soviet regimes, Chairman Mao, and the Adolphians.

Correct. And entirely for political purposes. Democrats control the American mainstream media and they are doing everything they can to frighten people into voting against our great President, Donald J. Trump.

So, we are about to take a big step in a couple weeks - getting on our first flight since the pandemic. It’s to Hawaii. Despite the mass confusion and chaos around Hawaii’s testing program (which is why we didn’t choose to go as soon as we could, letting the kinks work their way out of the system), we chose Hawaii for a few reasons:

  • Most (if not everyone) on the plane will have been tested in the last 72 hours. Folks can opt out of the test if they are willing to quarantine for 14 days but I think most flying to Hawaii will opt for the test. The risk on the plane (with all the filtration on top of that) thus seems lower than somewhere like a grocery store or a flight to say, Mexico. We have actual N95s (not the Chinese knock-off KN95s) that we will be using for protection, in addition to safety glasses and gloves.

  • We’re visiting Kauai, which has 1 active case and has had zero for a few weeks preceding that.

  • There are some pretty smoking deals on hotels there and we were able to snag a luxury bungalow-type setup with standalone units, with a kitchen, etc. for 25% off the rate. I have never seen this place offer discounts of any kind before. It is still not cheap, but with half the rate paid with UR points at over 2.2 cents per point, it was a good redemption opportunity.

The biggest risk is going to be the airport itself. We are not going to take a shuttle bus or anything like that - we’ll bite the bullet and pay for on-airport parking so we can walk to the terminal. The other possible complication is how the locals will view visitors… and that seems to be mixed. It seems that as long as you wear a mask and stay on the well trodden tourist paths, people will be thrilled to see you and will be overjoyed at you spending your money. Outside of that, I was told to expect a mix of contempt and indifference. I know the island pretty well, and Kauai is arguably the most sensitive to tourism, even in pre-COVID times… so we’ll see.

This of course all goes out the window if case counts explode and the quarantine opt-out with test program is eliminated. Everything is cancellable and fully refundable so we’re set there.
