I posted that on the other thread. Am here now because this has turned into politics and the election. Biden has a plan. His plan is to politicize the Chinese coronavirus. Supportive words for America? Far from it. At a time we need unity, Biden intends to politicize this crisis and divide the country to the best of his ability.
Perhaps the funniest part is the implication that his home had to be outfitted with high speed internet so that he can broadcast these videos. As in, his tried-and-true AOL dial-up would’ve taken until the election just to get the first episode out.
Fact is, Trump right now is the only POTUS we have. He will either get us through this with minimal damage or not. Biden is worrying about his election in November, not about the welfare of the American people in this crisis. And most of us understand that very well.
I’m just gonna go ahead and point out that when the fringe outliers that call themselves Democrats publicly “celebrate” on social media the misfortune of some prominent Republican, Fox News immediately jumps on them for being so vile, and lumps them with the rest of the Democrats to portray the entire party as vile, heartless, etc. The truth is that those people are indeed outliers and the rest of the party does not share in that “celebration”.
Trump is the undisputed top of the GOP, and that smile tells you how vile he truly is. Your own words are just as descriptive. It would be illogical to say that the whole party is just as hateful, but they do support a hateful person. You are henceforth forbidden from judging anyone who celebrates the demise or misfortune of some person they can’t stand.
I just want him to admit he is a Massachusetts Democrat and leave the Senate.
When Trump asked the question there were several other Republican names offered in addition to traitor Mitt. None of the others brought forth any reaction at all, and I’m confident Trump wishes them all well, as do I.
Please do not expect me to tolerate a two-faced traitor. Romney is a hero only to his fellow Democrats. But they have the courage to look others in the eye and admit forthrightly what they are. I respect that. Meanwhile Romney wants us to believe he is a Republican. He is not.
How’s Romney’s voting record? I bet it has almost always been aligned with the party (i.e., and using your own words, he “has done a great many conservative things”). You and the “conservative media” are probably attacking him because of a single vote. Sure it’s a big one, but does it really make him a traitor? I’m not so sure.
Really? Is he advocating for getting rid of all the borders?
Not all of Biden’s faults, the ones which are most concerning, are his personal opinions.
It’s akin to the left’s hatred for Trump. Not that Trump is not oftentimes a putz, but a lot of that hatred is for Trump’s supporters . . . like me. And justifiably so. We have the same, albeit reciprocal, concerns for Biden. If elected he will have to satisfy his base . . . which would be a catastrophe.
I would find it easier to believe you IF there were an outcry from non-outliers when this kind of thing occurred, and there have been hundreds of opportunities.
No, he can’t get rid of the border. To my knowledge, that can only be done by the Senate via annexation or separation.
Bidden has advocated for opening the Southern border by not enforcing all immigration laws. This is more of an open border policy than a no border policy.
And a lousy pierre, among others. What do you mean by conservative media?
Really? He wasn’t born in America? How was he even able to run? At least the previous president was smart enough to have a
birth announcement from a U.S. territory/state.
Cruz didn’t even try to hide it.
If you check out his record from MA, I think you’ll find it less than conservative. Despite his own, self-serving-at-the-time declaration, I don’t know many conservatives who would classify him that way. Now if you ask Democrats, anyone right of Crazy Joe is conservative.
But there were, you just chose to ignore them. Or your selected news sources chose to ignore them. Or you have a bias which made you ignore or forget that it actually happened.
He was still a Democrat then, right? I’m talking about his record since he switched sides.
But there were not, you just chose to imagine there were. Or you selected news sources report fake news and make it up as they wish. Or you have a bias that made your reality as real as your imaginative news sources.
See how constructive it is when we treat each other with respect.
But wait, there’s more.
Trump made a poor showing at last evening’s coronavirus task force press conference. I watched it all. Trump appeared tired and he rambled more than usual. Unlike prior such events, it was not the press corps which was to blame. Their questions were appropriate and mostly respectful, which is unusual.
No, this time it was all on Trump. Straight up, he might be reaching his limits. For certain, the man clearly needs more than anything else to get some rest. Of course it is possible he is ill. But no more than deep tiredness was self-evident.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden, the presumptive presidential nominee, was missing in action for most of last week; his absence caused #WhereIsJoe to trend on Twitter and sparked conspiracy theories that the 77-year-old is ill. A source told ABC that Biden desperately wanted to be in daily contact with Americans, but was facing a few logistical challenges to video briefings; the ceilings in his home were low, you see, making lighting a challenge.
If Biden can’t figure out a home studio, I don’t know how he is going to solve a global health crisis. Unless coronavirus kills us all first, it seems highly likely that we have another four years of Trump to look forward to.
A sort of nuclear bomb went off earlier today. I don’t really consider this politics, even though it is a huge dispute over coronavirus between a Republican and a Democrat. But it doesn’t exactly fit on the coronavirus thread, either. Anyway, this thread is sort of an anything-goes catch-all, so am posting this here:
Governor Cuomo erupted earlier today with HUGE criticism of President Trump over his handling of the coronavirus response. Prior those guys were working together.
No criticism here by me of Cuomo. I don’t think his outcry was political in nature. I think the Governor is frightened to death by what is happening in downstate New York.
Trump, characteristically, fired back at Cuomo with both barrels. He blamed Cuomo for the problems about which Cuomo complained.
Downstate NY is an absolute mess and a great many people are going to die . . . . . many already have died. It is pretty bad.
I monitor as much media as I’m able, day and night, here and in Canada. Joe Biden appears once again to have fallen off the radar screen. He is not breaking through insofar as I’m able to discern.
Trump? He had a good thing going with his middle-of-the-day crisis task force press conferences. Everyone is at home. Trump gets on after lunch and addresses their concerns.
Then he stopped. Cold
Now he is doing his press briefings against both local and national news. He is being reported upon but not carried live by the networks at that hour. This is Trumpinsanity. Does he not realize that whenever the media filter is applied, he loses BIG time?
So between the two of them you have a couple of hooples. Meanwhile Cuomo is out there dazzling everyone . . . . and good for him.
About the only thing more stupid that a stupid Republican is a stupid Democrat. WABOA
