The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

I don’t really see the point of this. Trump makes ten or twenty times the flubs Biden does, and Trump does it every day.

Biden usually corrects himself or apologizes. Trump never does. Trump denies he makes any mistakes. Who would you judge to be more out of it?

And there is absolutely nothing illegal about casting a provisional ballot in person.

There is absolutely nothing illegal about mailing in a ballot, going to the polls in person, and casting a provisional ballot if your mail-in ballot has not be recorded.

Once again, everyone is going apeshit over the headlines about “voting twice”, instead of the “make sure your vote gets counted” that was actually said.

‘Miracle on the Hudson’ pilot ‘Sully’ Sullenberger slammed Trump after reports the president called US troops killed in combat ‘losers’

Sullenberger, who served as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force before becoming a commercial pilot for US Airways from 1980-2010, tweeted Friday evening calling Trump “selfish” and “a coward,” accusing the president of being “completely unfit for” and having “no respect for the office he holds.”

Sully is a registered Republican.

As for why she felt so strongly about Trump, Joanne Rogers claimed it was likely because the real estate mogul “seldom tells the truth.”

“If he does, it’s just a fluke, I think. But the fact is that I can’t believe anything he says, not even the simplest thing,” she continued. “This man is pathologically ill. Mentally ill.”

The mother-of-two suggested that if her husband were still alive today—he died in 2003—he may have been more inclined to open up on his politics simply because Trump goes against everything that he stood for

“We have somebody leading us right now who is not a forgiver,” she said of Trump at the time. “His values are very, very different from Fred’s values - almost completely opposite.”

The Rogers are also lifelong Republicans.

Poll workers generally do not know if mail ballots have been received. There are ways to check online. It is still illegal to vote twice. And has been pretty much from the beginning of time.

James Mattis – Trump is “the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people.”

“We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children,” he wrote.

“We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”

Former Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer

Spencer was fired for going outside his chain of command by proposing a secret agreement with the White House over Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher’s case. In a Washington Post op-ed, Spencer called Trump’s intervention in the war crimes case “shocking and unprecedented.”

“It was also a reminder that the President has very little understanding of what it means to be in the military, to fight ethically or to be governed by a uniform set of rules and practices,”

Former White House national security adviser John Bolton

Bolton wrote that Trump directed him to help with his pressure campaign in Ukraine to dig up dirt on Democrats. The manuscript also reportedly claimed that Trump directed Bolton to set up a meeting between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.

Trump has denied the allegations.

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly

Kelly has said he believes Bolton’s accusation – that Trump told Bolton US security aid to Ukraine was conditioned on an investigation of the President’s political rivals.

Cliff Sims, former special assistant to the President and director of White House Message Strategy

Sims wrote “Team of Vipers,” claiming, among other things, that Trump created an “enemies list” consisting of members of his own administration.

Former White House counsel Ty Cobb

Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb’s views about special counsel Robert Mueller and the Russia investigation have been at odds with the President.

After leaving the White House, he said he did not think the special counsel’s probe was a “witch hunt.”

“Bob Mueller is an American hero in my view,” Cobb also said, noting Mueller’s service as a Marine.

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

Tillerson told lawmakers in 2019 that Russian President Vladimir Putin was more prepared than Trump for a meeting in Germany, putting American officials at a disadvantage. At the time, he told lawmakers he was guided by “American values” such as democracy and freedom, but could not or would not offer an assessment as to whether the same could be said for Trump.

Tillerson also called Trump “undisciplined” and Trump would ask him to do things he didn’t understand were a violation of the law.

Tillerson during the Ukraine investigation, said that clearly asking for personal favors and using United States assets as collateral is wrong."

That’s not very Trumpish to set such a low goal. I figure I won’t break a sweat until after a half-dozen.

So it’s okay to vote in NC one time, even if I don’t live there? Of course, I can’t do that because, as has been pounded into anyone listening to big media, voter fraud is impossible. Additionally, we’ve been told that there has been no evidence of voter fraud since easy, motor voter, mail voter, dead voter laws have been implemented.

So why are you getting your panties in a bunch?

Uh, memo’s are illegal. They are a remnant of white privilege and are some of the most racist documents created. Just ask any Indian Jamaican slave owner.

That would be the reaction of a lot of people who only hear the “news” from Pravda and TASS (or their U.S. affiliates). For example you’ve been, most recently, squealing about Trump telling people to vote twice and how that is a sin worse than that being skeptical of Al Gore and his weather forecasts (Miami is still above water, btw). You know perfectly well what Trump said, and what he meant; yet you only post about felonies and “oh the humanity”.

If people like you were more honest, there would be fewer people like Ms. Rogers being misled. Oops! I forgot that the ends always justifies the means, so prevaricate until your heart’s content. :unamused:

The long list of Biden administration officials turned critics
None - He hasn’t had an administration, and if he had, they would probably prefer to get paid off than risk saying anything bad about the candidate.

However, there are a few women that dirty Joe got a little handsy with. As well there are some children who liked rubbing his legs in the pool. There has been no comment from the former children as to how his actions affected their emotional development.

As well, there have been no comments from Greenpeace, AlGore, or any other weather people on how much CO₂ Joe (I like that one better than sad, crazy, senile, or handsy) will contribute to the destruction of the planet by gallivanting around the country. I thought polls, (the average of the polls, not just one or twenty, which I presume is supposed to mean they’re more credible) had Biden with an insurmountable lead. Why pollute the environment and contribute to weather changes? All of those flights, or even that sports car that CO₂ Joe “acquired” from his wife’s ex-husband surely are causing some island natives to drown. Doesn’t he care?

ETA: I made a presumption earlier that you understood what Trump said and what he meant, and you were purposely playing dumb. I did not allow for the fact that you did not understand what he said or what he meant and that you weren’t playing dumb. If that is the case, you and Joe Biden are in tune, and I understand why you say what you do.

I’ll never understand this. Even if there were “conditions”, it was to leverage an investigation of the potential corruption of our former Vice President while he was in office.

If I run for District Attorney in my county (or state), am I now immune from being investigated for any crimes since I am now a “rival” of the prosecutor?

I know, I know, much like mail voting fraud, if the corruption isnt out in the open then it doesnt exist and is stupid to even suggest. Unless you’re talking about the virus, then you have to keep turning over every stone to find trace that may be hidden, and it’s stupid to suggest that it may not be so widespread as it’s made out to be.

You might as well just keep repeating that bananas are yellow, and have been from the beginning of time. It’s easy to rationalize that you sound logical, when you remove all the logic from what you’re commenting on.

Provisional ballots have also been completely legal since the beginni…ok, I dont know when they were created, probably sometime after the beginning of time. And for the record, voting didnt come around until sometime after time started, too.

Quit talking like Trump said to go vote, leave the polling place, put on a hat and funny glasses, then return and claim to be Abe Froman in an attempt to cast a second vote. Because he didnt. You’re the one telling people to go commit a felony, not Trump.

I see our federal tax dollars will be wasted a little less than before, at least until the next election is decided.

If any of you have been so unfortunate as to be subjected to some of the nonsense from these critical race theory peddlers at your workplace, or just if you want to see how full of it they are, read on. The BLM re-education team showed up at Sandia National Labs to tell all the scientists there how racist they were. These are the guys who model nukes so we don’t have to test them, and they know their stats. One of them had a spine too, and this is his video.

He actually read all 20 of the HR suggested books on white fragility and racism and such to see if there was any truth to it, because the claims after all are dramatic - that the US is currently profoundly and systematically racist. Of course nearly all of them were lying with statistics and the rest were just lying (most were none too fond of the current president either). Some stats that aren’t lies tho and impact the black community, from his presentation:

The guy in question wanted to either have the HR propaganda removed, or if it was fair game for discussion in the workplace, give a class of his own pointing out the logical flaws in the arguments and materials. Instead they denied his request and put him on paid leave pending an investigation that he “risked national security”. The US regulations about political activity by national security staff are quite strict, so encouraging things like donations to BLM and pushing blatantly political materials via official channels will get serious investigation for legal violations.

Meanwhile, he made some good materials as a counterpoint for anyone whose workplace is forcing leftist propaganda on their employees to appear “woke” enough, and intends to make more since he got a lot of support and is on paid leave after all. Get out the popcorn…

xerty, Thanks for these reports.
I don’t know where you obtain all the materials you post, but I enjoy the points.

The cronies on the other side will have objection to the complete discussion,(might find 1 item they agree to) but we expect it.

So keep on marching in the RIGHT direction. We love it!!

I’ve concluded that the whole concept of “white privilege” boils down to this (as an illustration):

If I choose to not stay with my partner to provide my children a 2-parent household, it is systemically racist to deny my children the benefits that are typically seen from having a 2-parent household.

Bottom line is, if your “culture” has norms that do not facilitate the benefits that other cultures tend to receive, it’s your culture that is to blame, not the other cultures. You’re basically expecting to live one lifestyle, with the standards and benefits of a different lifestyle.

Eugene V. Debs is today smiling in his grave.

Americans of his day were smart enough to reject his ways of thinking. Too many Americans now are simply not that smart.

So are you stating that this is how/why populism works. You just need a critical mass of dumb Americans to get elected?

I wonder if that’s not been the case for a while. Campaigns often appeal to the more base instincts and the broadest possible lowest common denominator. I’m not sure that’s a recent development though and Americans of old were much smarter. I just think for many it’s become harder to figure out truth from lies honestly, especially with echo chamber-promoting social media.

Thanks for the video link and the background info. I listened to 10 minutes so far and have been impressed. The remainder is in my listening list for tomorrow, and I hope it lives up what I’ve heard so far.

I did not think that was mathematically possible. Uh, on second thought maybe it was shootings that I was remembering. So there are thousands of shootings, but only hundreds of homicides. Don’t they have ranges in the Chicago area? Just kidding.

What’s different, it seems, is that voters and votees are all a lot more self absorbed, selfish, lazy and only do what they want to do. In other words, they’re all teenagers (except for the lazy part).

The pilot was reacting to this article from the Atlantic, which made strong claims of anti-military comments by Trump. The other sources from your article point back to this one as well.

The above article cites exclusively unnamed and anonymous sources, who the author defends as remaining anonymous due to fear of mean tweets(!). Other coverage, including by Fox and NYT, has included comments by named sources who deny some of the claims specifically, including by John Bolton who’s no huge Trump fan, although of course the NYT spent most of their article repeating the anti-Trump claims merely by referencing the Atlantic’s claims.

This article by the Intercept, who is known for their excellent reporting on WikiLeaks and related issues, digs into the details of the lack of evidence behind the claims and a history of misleading news articles in this vein.

So we have anonymous sources making claims on one side, and Trump and former aides (including Bolton, now a harsh Trump critic) insisting that the story is inaccurate. Beyond deciding whether or not to believe Goldberg’s story based on what best advances one’s political interests, how can one resolve the factual dispute? If other media outlets could confirm the original claims from Goldberg, that would obviously be a significant advancement of the story…

In other words, all that likely happened is that the same sources who claimed to Jeffrey Goldberg, with no evidence, that Trump said this went to other outlets and repeated the same claims — the same tactic that enabled MSNBC and CBS to claim they had “confirmed” the fundamentally false CNN story about Trump Jr. receiving advanced access to the WikiLeaks archive. Or perhaps it was different sources aligned with those original sources and sharing their agenda who repeated these claims. Given that none of the sources making these claims have the courage to identify themselves, due to their fear of mean tweets, it is impossible to know.

But whatever happened, neither AP nor Fox obtained anything resembling “confirmation.” They just heard the same assertions that Goldberg heard, likely from the same circles if not the same people, and are now abusing the term “confirmation” to mean “unproven assertions” or “unverifiable claims” (indeed, Fox now says that “two sources who were on the trip in question with Trump refuted the main thesis of The Atlantic’s reporting”).

So I expect people will believe what they want on this topic regardless of the facts, like most political things these days, but it seems giving the timing that there’s a reasonable chance the whole Atlantic thing is no more than dirty tricks aimed at harming Trump’s support within his base.

The whole article written by liberal activist in The Atlantic, is fake news. IMO.

I really wish President Trump would have gone to the WW1 grave site in France. My grandmother’s brother, a full blood Choctaw is buried there. So it’s very personal to me.

No. You do know the political leanings of Eugene V. Debs, right? If so you understand my post. If not it explains why you misunderstood.

Debs, an early socialist, ran five times for POTUS. He never became President. Yet today there is a chance voters will elect to that same office the candidate of the party a large portion of which is now inclined toward socialism.

The socialist camel’s nose is beneath the edge of the tent. Will today’s American voters be as wise as their fore bearers and reject such nonsense straightaway? We can only hope.
