Huh? Didn’t argyll say he didn’t make money, and was in fact, losing money?
With no comment on how fair/unfair the current tax laws are, I am curious as to why you would put any blame on former President Obama. He was in Washington for the blink of an eye, and thinks he did much loftier things than improving the tax law.
The real scofflaws, if someone was looking for a Seinfeld reference, are people like Comrade Joe, who has spent an eternity in Washington and had real power to make changes. Instead, well, we have what you described.
ETA: Did I just say something less than disparaging about the golden child? If so, it was purely by accident.
When you say average citizens, are you including the ones who already didn’t pay taxes? If so, I think you expect too much. Although incredibly talented and skillful, he’s no magician. Everyone that I know who worked got a tax cut, including myself and my smarter half.
It would be enlightening to read articles about how so many of these career politicians managed to become multi-millionaires. Too many people seem confused, thinking that it’s Trump that has been on the public payroll for decades, and all the others who’s wealth was self-made prior to recently stepping into the limelight.
Wait! He made money? He was successful? But, I bet it all came form Russia. That’s why they were helping Hillary, to get even with President Trump for making so much money off them. They want it all for the oligarchs and Putin’s son, Hunter.
If Comrade Joe (your not getting any money until you stop investigating my kid) Biden has his way, those countries will look “free” compared to the Democrat Woke U.S.A.
Potential evidence of a system that Comrade Joseph (Hey, I started out at a black college) Biden helped to hone for the past ?70? years?
Potential evidence of the disclosure loophole that Comrade Joseph (Hey, I started out at a Jewish college) Biden is using to funnel payoff money to his son.
Potential evidence of the lengths to which Comrade Joseph (Hey, I wrote the black national anthem), Biden and his party will stretch as they see this election slipping away.
On the plus side, at least they recognize it before the teetotaler did.
The snapshot of Trump’s foreign dealings represents an unprecedented level of foreign business entanglements for a sitting US president.
Of course it is; it’s pretty unprecedented for a President to be successful outside of politics. Pushing that argument is back-dooring the merits of having career politicians. No wonder this is getting so much attention, they’re trying to ensure that another Trump-like outsider never invades their safe space again.
And you can blame that squarely on your party comrades. They controlled the House for ~50 years. Just within the past 12 years, they’ve controlled both houses of congress with super-majorities. They literally could have passed anything they wanted. The Republicans had no way to stop them.
??? What planet are you living on? Senators and presidents have historically almost always been from Old-Money families. Not sure how you think Trump breaks that mold…
Representatives in the House are (relatively) much less wealthy, with some that aren’t ever rich.
His daddy is the one who generated the wealth. He just committed the fraud to falsify values and avoid taxes that were due when that wealth transferred from his daddy.
Actually in all the years covered by the NY Times stolen Trump tax data there was virtually no financial interaction with Russia whatsoever, just as Trump always has maintained.
The sole exception is Trump’s Miss Universe beauty pageant held in Moscow in 2013. The financial data associated with that event is the only Russian financial connection through all the years. And that beauty pageant was not some sort of secret event. It was nothing of the sort. Everyone knew about it at the time.
I’m not sure if you didn’t scroll up, but DNCMSNBC employee and liberal comradette of the season, Rachel Maddoew investigated Trump’s tax returns with zeal. With uncommon vim and vigor, she reported that her results were certified, indisputable, unobjected, guaranteed, with a doubt, certain, positive, unquestionable, ̶s̶e̶t̶t̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶s̶c̶i̶e̶n̶c̶e̶, fact-checked, double-secret fact-checked, undeniable, blah, blah.
Her results showed that Trump paid $38,000,000 in taxes in ?2005?.
You have no clue of Presidents Trump’s shtik … nor his non-shtik.
But I’m sure you are quite capable of grasping Comrade Joseph (“Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”) Biden’s lack of shtik and non-shtik.
I set the bar of being successful a wee bit higher than “being from” old money.
Characterize Trump however you want (it’s not important to the point), he’s spent decades as the head of a multi-billion dollar empire. That’s vastly different than all those career politicians with rich parents, who used the family money to finance their political endeavors, rather than take over business generating that money. As I said, much of this hubbub is to ensure no other outsider dare encroach on their turf.
Or they’ve married it. Now who could that be … oh, John (I may have served in Vietnam before deceitfully denigrating soldiers and veterans) Kerry.
The problem with the quote:
The snapshot of Trump’s foreign dealings represents an unprecedented
level of foreign business entanglements for a sitting US president.
Is that it shows the ignorance of the ̶D̶N̶C̶ writer. They seem to think that someone with global business deals can untangle them in a few months before being elected to office. I’ve never been in deals the size of President Trump’s, but have done a few small ones, and they can take forever to unwind.
Of course, I don’t really expect Democrats to grasp anything to do with business except payoffs.
One question i have is - how bad must the NYT/DNC think Biden is going to do in this debate to save their 10,000 word tax hit job on Trump for the day or two ahead of the debate?
Clearly they’d had this ready to go for quite some time given how long they just have been working on it, so one has to think the timing is deliberate. If they released it instead of closer to the election, there would be less time for calmer heads to response “it’s just depreciation”, and the transient effect might last long enough to influence the polls instead of being overshadowed in a few weeks by debate topics, new vaccines, the Supreme Court confirmation, etc. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow night.
