The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

How is that irrelevant? I think it’s exactly relevant. Are we speaking different languages?

Kamal was referring to Citizens United, which said money is speech, so money from where-ever can be used to buy ads, i.e. outsiders trying to buy an election.

Because it’s a flood of donations coming in to Harrison’s campaign. It’s not some corporation or PAC buying ads independently of the campaign.

And besides that, it has nothing to do with funding from outside one’s constituency. It simply wasnt part of the case.

And besides that, the legality wasnt the point. There’s been no implications of any violations. But if you were running for dog catcher in the boondocks of Montana, would you expect your opponent to get millions* of donations from the local Tallahassee chapter of the ASPCA? Wouldnt you get a bit exasperated too, about the blank check he was getting from people he’s never going to represent?

(*relative “millions”, to whatever scale contributions are in a dogcatcher race compared to a senate race)

Literally doesnt matter if I just hate the dogcatcher in Montana, Citizens United ruled I legally can spend as much as I want on his race because money is speech.

It’s another one of those rulings that Republicans were all for because they benefitted from the initial ruling, and now whine about (and make no mistake, Graham is whining to Fox about it) because they dont like the consequences that everyone predicted would happen.

It might interest you to know that Lindsey Grahamnesty is not exactly a fan favorite of those of us on the right. He and John McCain were BFFs. Tell you anything?

I’ve actually left comments in SC publications pleading with voters there to get RID of Lindsey. Once McCain passed, Grahamnesty’s tune changed somewhat: more Conservative less RINO. But getting rid of him would not be 100% a bad thing. Any friend of John McCain, who was a putz, is most assuredly not a friend of Conservatives.

Not saying I want Grahamnesty to lose on November third. Only saying it would not be a tragedy.

Yes, I heard him say it. Wish he hadn’t. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

But we can watch the two sides sound off tonight & get a better understanding. As usual Biden gets his pal as moderator again. Trump gets Gutherie, probably a staunch democrat.

The usual process… But, knowing Trump he will get his point over regardless. Yes, Yes!!
Trump will get the Biden, Hunter account out in the open, so all can hear.

To bad, both debates are on at same time.

Mexico Chyna will pay for it!”

Got news for you, there’s only one actual Republican in Washington. His name is Justin Amash. He had the wisdom to quit the party since he correctly identified that the rest of the party doesnt actually care about their professed values.

Bonus points: Amash correctly understands free speech with regard to Twitter and Facebook. Hes a smart and principled guy.

Romney’s still around, too.

Plus there’s Biden, he’s more conservative than the current sludge.

Yep, China will pay for the stimulus bill like Mexico paid for the wall. Also, the Taliban will pay for the withdrawal from Afghanistan and Wales will pay for your health care.

When do Trump supporters hear that and say “Hmm…something’s not right. This guy could be selling a bill of goods.”

That first email looks totally fake. Who adds their country “.ukraine” to their name for their google account? That’s just so weird…

The story is sprinkled with photos to make it appear legit. Who knows how they got the photos, but even the photo of him with a crack pipe could be fake – he was asleep, whoever took the photo could have put the pipe in there. Or even simpler, it could have been photoshopped.

She explains that she grew up with “the kind of cruel, selfish politics that Donald Trump has now inflicted on our country.”

Trump and supporters like her dad, she writes, have used the presidency “to stoke the injustice that already permeated our society, taking it to dramatically new, Bond-villain heights.”

“The very notion of ‘bipartisanship’ may seem painfully ludicrous right now, but we need a path out of impenetrable gridlock and vicious sniping,” she writes. “In Joe Biden, we’ll have a leader who prioritizes common ground and civility over alienation, bullying, and scorched-earth tactics.”

“Mainstream media” is doing it again, as in 2016 when they gave Trump an estimated $ 2 billion in free airtime.

/this $2 billion in free airtime is because "mainstream media: just hates Trump soooo much you see…

It’s faaaaaaake, you can tell because the little initial circle thingy isn’t actually a circle and is blurry, unlike the real thing.

/Rudy and Lev Parnas aren’t very good at this.
//Lev and Nunes kept calling each other the day this was publicized…

Basically trying the same thing as the first “debate”.
Get any trump-“leaning” people to watch him, where he spouts nonsense mis-stating Biden’s campaign policies. Rather than having a chance to actually hear policies from Biden, in which case they’d change their vote.

For everything they’ve stuck by Trump through, at this point, I think you’re being overly-generous to their willingness to change their minds about him at all, let alone over classical policy issues. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s people who haven’t paid attention (which are most).

The senators have been utilitizing the same tactics. (at least referring to the debate with Cornyn)
No actual answers for themselves or what they’ve done or will do, 70% just lies about the other person falsely stating their positions. The other 30% is the Trump talking points. (They’re going to ban fracking! Green New Deal – NO COWS!!! Raise taxes on lower class! Defund the police! They want to just completely shut the country down indefinitely!!!)

This tactic works well on old people, it’s close to what scammers do when they target seniors with telephone scams. They’ll just badger with nonsense over and over and eventually it will stick and be all that’s remembered.

Edit: I don’t think they’ll be successful “gaining” people with these tactics, but in many cases they’re more just trying to stem the bleeding/fleeing of previous Republican voters.
