The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

I’ve seen this movie before. Hey, it’s 1968 all over again!

Great space shots, tumult and rioting everywhere, and let’s hope . . .

A Republican law and order candidate victory in November.

I agree… great post. :relaxed:

These criminal hoodlums should be in jail. Crime in the making.

You have to give the Democrats and their wholly-controlled mainstream media toadies credit.

Darn near everyone agrees that peaceful protests of Mr. Floyd’s torture and brutal murder are beyond merely appropriate. They are necessary!

Most people agree those who riot and destroy property should not be doing so.

What many Democrats are doing is conflating the two above things, then viciously attacking Trump for being anti-protest, which he most assuredly is NOT, when he comes out strongly against the rioters and destroyers of property.

This is similar to the way Democrats accuse you of being “anti-immigrant” when you actually oppose only illegal immigration . . . . which they vigorously support.

For Democrats the concept of “Rule of Law” is a mere speed bump on their path to the socialist America of their dreams. Anything whatsoever which disrupts the existing order is good with them, and if that means ignoring American law or our Constitution, so be it.

This is similar to the way Republicans accuse you of supporting illegal immigration, when you actually oppose illegal immigration, with a few exceptions, such as DACA/DREAMers, and separating minor children from parents at the border and putting them in poorly managed concentration camps.

A few days ago I would have agreed with this 100%, but I was enlightened by someone who used to organize and participate in (legal and peaceful) protests. They suggested that the media / politicians / the world / anyone who matters do not pay attention to peaceful protests.

So yes, vandalism and looting, especially of small businesses (especially minority-owned businesses in this case) is an undesirable side-effect. But in general I’m starting to think that the protests would not get as much attention without it.

Normally that would be the case but not with the current disaster in office. Peaceful protesters will be assaulted before curfew to make an absurd photo op to exploit a church.

We could completely do without the looting and rioting. And we’d still get plenty of violence. And the overall message would be much more on point.

Cue: “Bush is a far left antifa member!!!”

I view as important the measure championed by Senator Feinstein, a noted Democrat, which paved the way for thousands of Central American peasants to flow into my country. Her legislation grants to OTMs (other than Mexicans) treatment more favorable than we offer Mexicans here illegally.

MS-13 thanks Senator Feinstein and her Democrat comrades, without whose support and cooperation they would not have been able to penetrate Long Island, among many other traditionally American venues.

In fact the situation with MS-13 is consistent with the larger picture. When criminals want succor, there is always a Democrat shoulder nearby to cry upon.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bush endorses Biden this time around. Considering the exchanges between him and Trump, I’m wondering if Trump is making the calculation that Bush endorsing Biden would be good for his re-election. I’m not sure that’s a given but I can see no other reason for him to lay into Bush like that. Interesting either way.

You haven’t been paying much attention the last 4 years. Any R politician who doesn’t pretend Trump does no wrong is hit with a twitter tirade and “coincidental” neo-nazi death threats to their families.

also, the closest mirror of Trump’s politicking was ousted in primary:

Trump finally wised up. I approve, but it certainly took him long enough! Negotiating with Democrats is akin to negotiating with communists. NC was a mistake from the outset.

Hope they go to Florida.

Honestly, I’m surprised that either party would consider having an in-person convention this year when live concerts/sports are to be held behind closed doors for the foreseeable future.

But imagine if one (or both) candidate contracted COVID-19 at their convention and died? Just because of pride (and money) getting in the way of having the convention online only. Heck I’d settle for some high ranking party members. Wouldn’t that be glorious poetic justice?

Whatever happens, I just hope neither candidate have it my state so it doesn’t become a hot spot for COVID-19 infection and we have to return to a costly lockdown for a needless three-ring circus clown show.

We had the 2016 R convention here in Cleveland. There is a massive amount of logistical work that goes into something like that to make it run smooth. Good luck.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs basically just publicly sided with the protesters and made a thinly veiled threat to disobey orders.

It was fun watching the American mainstream media running as fast and far away as it could from Rosenstein’s testimony yesterday. They want NO PART of that story, perhaps the most important in American political history. But since Trump was Rosenstein’s target, for them it’s not a story at all. Anything that might be exculpatory or even affirming for Trump is toxic for the American mainstream media.

The unabashedly liberal American mainstream media: WABOA

?? You mean the testimony that he acted on the information he received (verified by trusted third parties), like he was supposed to? That was the line of questioning from the R members. “You mean you didn’t go carry out your own investigation first, on your own time, not using your own staff either because you shouldn’t trust them either??? A TRAVESTY!!!” Curious what the political convolution you got from OANN. Gov agencies are never supposed to trust each other. Every person has to independently re-do the same investigations individually?

Additionally he wasn’t supposed to learn more after the fact so is unallowed to say that given new information he would have made different decisions if it were available in the past? That does not scream conspiracy, it indicates towards a reasonable person, not one making up “alternative facts” and never admitting available information has changed over time, and pointing to their head as “having a good you know what” as the extent of decision making inputs. Reasonable people will use available facts at the time (and consider new ones as they become available)

What’s the media “running away” even supposed to mean? Do you think it should distract/ displace any coverage from other more significant and relevant ongoing events?

There is a reason senior Republicans are starting to break ranks with Trump: they want to save the party for the future. Trump has proven a divisive element at a time the country should be united to recover from the pandemic and heal deeply seeded racial divisions. He thrives on splitting people and that is a bad strategy right now.

Who’s breaking ranks? Do you have any particular one that seems significant aside from a few well-known never-trumpers? I just did not see anything that’d seem like a concern for his 2020 campaign.

The liberal Democratic media will never print anything helpful to President Trump. Neither now or ever!

These protesters are just another tactic to rouse up & continue to excite the far left. They don’t want to exit in peace. That would put an end to Dem media + CNN & all their cohorts. BREAKING NEWS!!
