Georgia Ordered to File Brief in Sidney Powell Election Suit
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and the state’s elections chief were ordered by a federal judge to explain their opposition to allowing inspections of voting machines that President Donald Trump has claimed “switched” votes in favor of Joe Biden.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten in Atlanta gave Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger until Wednesday to file a brief in response to inspection demands by former Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell, who filed a suit alleging Dominion Voting Systems Inc. machines are part of a vast election-rigging scheme involving Democratic-run cities, billionaire George Soros and “communist money” from Venezuela and Cuba.
Biden’s victory in Georgia was certified on Nov. 20 following a hand recount confirmed the results. A machine recount requested by Trump’s campaign is underway.
Kemp and Raffensperger, both Republicans, said at a Sunday hearing that the inspections sought in Cobb, Gwinnett, and Cherokee counties posed serious security and intellectual property risks, according to the Sunday ruling. The judge, a George W. Bush appointee, asked the state officials to explain their assertions and also ordered the state not to alter or erase any of the data.
Kemp and Raffensperger might claim to be Republicans. I personally have serious doubt. I think they both live in fear of what might be found if those machines, on which they spent over 100 million dollars of taxpayer money, are closely investigated.

Personally, I’d be cautious about following a QAnon supporter (from his twitter profile). Plus wasn’t he the one with the lawsuit that confused Michigan votes in Minnesota cities. He sounds very confused to me.
It’s not a great sign when a Trump-appointed judge rules this way on your case: “To halt the certification at literally the 11th hour would breed confusion and potential disenfranchisement that I find has no basis in fact or in law.” In layman speech, I read this as “Dude you don’t have shit and ask me to make a fuss over nothing?”
Also judge Grimberg said this: “Neither the Republican Party nor the Trump campaign nor any other candidate has joined this lawsuit.That certainly would have changed the analysis when it comes to standing.” My read on this was that considering that nobody of actual political weight joined your lawsuit, that speaks volumes as to why I shouldn’t waste more of my time on it.
In that context, if I had to gamble a few $100s, I think I’d fall into Scripta’s camp and bet against him to win his appeal.
Shandril, I don’t believe we are referring to the same lawsuit that is happening. L. Lin Wood is the attorney involved in this case. The claim is that 900 military ballots came in & are recorded 100% for Biden.

People used to give Melania great latitude and benefit of the doubt. But over the past several years, people have seen she’s also a terrible person and deserves the Donald situation.
