The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

I phrased that wrong. I meant that plenty of people who could not vote in 2016 would have been able to vote in 2020 even under the 2016 rules, such as people who turned 18 or gained citizenship.

Trump built roads through rough terrain for illegals trying to get in.

“carved switchback roads up incredibly steep mountains to build a 30-foot-tall border wall.”

/ in addition to the environmental damage that Republicans dont care about

I take your point here . . . with regret. Sadly young people in America today, even before they enter college and certainly afterward, are being fed a constant diet of liberal garbage. And being young and knowing no better, they believe the left wing BS.

One didn’t need to be liberal to deem Trump unfit for the job.

Liberals place no value whatsoever on Trump’s many Conservative achievements. For liberals Trump was a double negative:

  1. His personality really riled them up
  2. His Conservative policy goals and achievement were the opposite of what liberals wanted

We Conservatives put up with the first in order to obtain the second. Consider:

Following President Reagan, the Republican Party elites offered us nothing but watered down conservatism. They learned nothing whatsoever from Reagan’s success and popularity. They disliked Reagan back then almost as much as they do Trump today.

Republican elites are focused primarily on money for themselves, on lining their pockets. As long as that money is flowing, Conservative principles be damned. They are not as bad as Democrats; but it is close!

Your article here is just perfect for intellectuals like yourself.

So your (save the world president) is stopping all the wall construction with the stroke of a pin. Hundreds or thousands of construction & other workers fired.

Illegals tryiny to flood the gates of heaven. Such a sorry situation.

We toured the border several years ago. Our bus continued many miles to what I called the end of civilization. At the end of the road, an old homestead was turned into a tourist stop. There was really no fences along the border here, only barbed wire. Interesting stories told at this 3-4 hour stop.

Do you see the irony in suggesting that Trump cares about anyone other than himself? (or possibly his long-term family wealth)

I would be interested to see you articulate “Trump’s many conservative achievements” along with what version of “conservatism” they align with. Because there is an immense level of cognitive dissonance inherent to the so-called “conservative” cult of personality around Trump.

Hundreds or thousands of construction & other workers fired.

Should we piss away tax money having those workers building a near-useless wall?

Or should we employ those workers to do something that actually matters?

One of the incredible tragedies of Trump’s presidency was wasting so much effort and focus on “the wall” rather than targeting the crumbling infrastructure of our country that is actually worthy of attention.

Nope. But then I do not at all share your viewpoints on many things. Still, I must concede:

Trump was an imperfect vessel for our conservative hopes. This is because Trump was not a Conservative; few NYC people are. But he was the person a majority of us chose.

As time passed I think Trump might have realized how strongly burned the liberal intensity among people he once likely considered tolerable. But lessons were learned, if at all, far too late. It’s what we got for electing a non-politician.

Trump would have had a better second term (for us) after having used his first term to make the kinds of errors one not skilled in the political arts makes, and hopefully learning from those errors.

I think she means they view the USA as heaven when compared with their home countries.

A great many people, border patrol folks among them, do not view the wall as useless.

We would probably not need a wall if we had domestic policies that forbade any welfare benefits, social benefits, schooling for kids born to illegal alien parents who crossed the border, harsh employer penalties for hiring any illegal workers, etc. that kind of policy would protect American workers, wages, and taxpayers from subsidizing illegally present foreigners. However what liberal is willing to deny the poor illegal immigrants food stamps, housing, school and benefits for their children, etc? Think of all those poor children Obama put in cages that were somehow Trump’s fault!

This is why we need a wall - not because a physical wall is required, but because welfare state is incompatible with open borders when your country is nicer than your neighbors and strict immigration policies are incompatible with our liberals’ present mindsets. The conservative employers and shareholders who benefit from cheap illegal wages at the expense of American workers aren’t helping on this cause either.

That is an extremely generous appraisal.

Me: “Trump built roads through rough terrain for illegals trying to get in.”

You: “So your (save the world president) is stopping all the wall construction with the stroke of a pin. Hundreds or thousands of construction & other workers fired.”

Me: So you’re saying we should keep building roads through rough terrain to make it easier for illegals to enter the US?

You: “We toured the border several years ago. Our bus continued many miles to what I called the end of civilization. At the end of the road, an old homestead was turned into a tourist stop.”

Maybe if you didn’t tourist your way down there, there wouldnt be a giant rest stop and road that illegals can use to help themselves get in.
