The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 2)

Looking at that headline, it sparked an unrelated question - we never hear about Hunter Biden’s secret service detail? I assume he has one? I’d think he would need one full-time agent just to keep track of his electronics.

That is very likely correct. The point I’m trying to make is that a significant amount of money has gone to protect current and previous presidents and their families. Focusing on Biden’s fence is petty and an invitation to remind people about secret service’s costs to protect Trump and his children when he was POTUS.

Not at all when you take into account, as I posted above, President Trump’s failure to accept a $400,000 annual salary and

in addition

Biden’s having taken advantage, when VP, of Hunter’s deal making in China and Ukraine. Biden, in essence and through Hunter, profited by selling access to himself and to his influence. That is as slimy as it comes. But it was a real money maker for Biden, a man who never built anything or worked a day in his life when he was not dining at the public’s political trough.

Even as Senator, Biden was a sure loser. It’s much worse now.

Earlier generations of Americans, when Biden sought higher office, declined to elevate his status. This current crop of Americans is, sadly, not that smart.

Hopefully the IRS will do an audit and find out whether Biden received his 10%, and reported it in his taxes. If he got the money and didn’t pay taxes on it, I’m sure we’ll hear about it. Until then, it’s just speculation that Biden got these millions through his drug addicted, womanizer, depraved son.

Only if the Democrats find a new candidate they believe can win the next election. Otherwise they’ll need to keep Biden clean, either for his own reelection campaign or to stump for his replacement.

I would gladly trade in Joe Biden and a draft pick to be named for the Finland Prime Minister. Here she is at a cabinet meeting (I think)

That guys lost more laptops than I’ve ever owned, and those are just the ones we know about. There were a couple after a bender in Vegas too, that didn’t end up getting disclosed.

If you want to make a political football out of the fence, the headline should not be about the cost, which barely matters, but how “walls work, build the wall” on keeping out illegal visitors.

Portable budget for your kid’s school education - school choice comes to AZ. Spend your $7k wherever you want - church school, home school, etc.

Covid changed everything in K-12 education. Parents were able to see what their children were being taught via Zoom videos. They were also able to see the lack of rigor and expectation in these classrooms. They saw this pervasive CRT that’s been discovered in so many different districts. And parents were rejecting that, along with the heavy-handed mandates around vaccines and masking, while they saw little to no focus on math, reading, science, character formation, or American civics. We had a lot of parents who were not politically engaged, or had been sitting on the sidelines, saying, “I want to have a say in what happens in my children’s education.” We had an African-American lady, Janelle Wood, who started micro-schools. She sat next to my wife, Angela, at the State of the State address, when I told the body: “Fifty years ago, politicians stood in the schoolhouse door and wouldn’t let minorities in. Today, union-backed politicians stand in the schoolhouse door and won’t let minorities out.” These kids are trapped in failing public schools. It’s time to set these families free. That’s not a Republican idea. That’s an American idea

Free market in secondary education would get rid of a lot of problems I suspect, not the least of which is not demanding high standards from both teachers and students.

CA in contrast,

School choice is the key issue our time. The left has patiently taken over government schools and they are irredeemable. Simply taking over the school board will not solve the problem if all the staff are leftists.

Simply sending children to a private school is not a panacea. Many of them are also run by leftists. Parents have to be involved in evaluating the school and voting with their money to select the kind of education they want for their children.

But having the money follow the child as done by Governor Ducey and the Republicans in Arizona is a necessary condition. Most parents simply cannot afford to pay the taxes to fund government schools and also to pay tuition for their children’s school.

Sadly this guy who had been doing some good political cartoons is at least temporarily retiring and pursuing a religious career instead. You can see some of his work here.

, President Trump’s failure to accept a $400,000 annual salary and…

It never ceases to both amuse and sadden me that Trump managed to impress his followers by being a billionaire that was unwilling to pick up $400k/year in loose change between his couch cushions…

The fact that you don’t seem to realize that declining to take his presidential salary was worth WAY more to him that a measly $400k/yr, it pretty surprising. Or maybe you do realize that, and you’re just arguing in bad faith about the topic :stuck_out_tongue:

Your overwhelming dislike for President Trump is duly noted. I bet you are hoping your little POS AG finds a way to disqualify him from running in 2024.

Course that would leave your kind having to start anew bringing forth the hatred for DeSantis. Maybe it would be easier just to remain with hatred focused on Trump.

Funny thing about Trump:

He got along fine with the left until he announced his POTUS run and picked up the Conservative banner. Thereafter he rapidly became persona non grata among you socialists.

Your inability to process a meaningful reply without resorting to insults and broad characterizations is duly noted.

Seriously, misguided and misdirected statements of “your kind” is extremely unhealthy language from someone who claims to so badly want better for America and American politics.

“Your kind” simply was a reference to your obvious socialist leanings. There are a great many socialists in this world. But it is not socialism which build America and socialism has no chance whatsoever to make us great once again, regardless what you and Biden believe.

You appear to be letting your biases misguide you. There are a great many people with dislike for Trump, or the ability to see through his bullshit and persona, that are not what would rightly be considered socialists. Though it seems you might be inclined to identify dislike of Trump with a rather broad brush, which does seem to be a popular view with certain groups.

I’m not going to throw out a “your kind” statement on that one, or attempt to denigrate your for it.

And I think you should be able to recognize the dishonesty in your last reply, that “your kind” in your previous post was not “simply a reference” and rather intended to be venomous and derogatory. Your earlier tone is quite clear on that front.

Democrat Judge doubles down on his Trump attack

Natch, this judge rules out completely the possibility of FBI higher ups once again going after Trump dishonestly as they did with the Trump-Russia hoax several years ago, or as they did with the attacks on General Flynn, or as Democrats did with their two phony impeachment efforts. Nope, it’s all on the up-and-up for this liberal bird of a judge. What a farce!!

Anyway:

Certainly derogatory, because I detest socialism and socialists and have no respect for their kind whatsoever. Now venomous? That’s a little strong. I feel no personal venom where you’re concerned. I just recoil in response to your horribly misguided political views.

Agreed. And if you have read my posts you know I make common cause with those people. But while I dislike the Trump persona, his policies are pretty good. Nevertheless Trump himself, basically, is a loudmouth New York City prick.

Do not expect ever to hear any of that stuff reported by the American mainstream media. Or . . .

If they do report it, the story will be so fleeting that if you blink you will miss it.

Still, you have to give Biden credit. His is a courageous and skillful attack on his principal political opponent. I’m not asserting he will succeed in the end. But I respect his boldness.

To the bold go the spoils.
