I cant change what happened a year ago, so I dont care to focus on griping about it. Instead, I care about what’s happening today, and, no matter what anyone here may think, removing our domestic production restrictions would not mean that the US would suddenly start producing 10 million barrels of oil each day to replace the now-banned Russian oil.
Those persons unwilling to learn from bitter history are doomed to repetition of historical failures.
A journey of many miles is begun with but a single step. We were on the right path, one of energy independence for America and ability to help our friends as they struggle to wean themselves off Putin’s bloody oil.
Today all that has changed. And it began changing literally the day Biden assumed office. We must return to the correct path. This return has not yet begun and Americans need to realize why. Only fools focus narrowly on the future without learning from the past’s massive errors, lest they be repeated.
Exactly. And if we could travel back in time 18 months and change that, great. But as far as I know, we cannot.
So focus on what is, not on what could’ve been.
What you keep arguing would benefit us a year from now, I dont disagree. But I’m not talking about a year from now. I’m only talking about what we can do right now, for an immediate effect. It doesnt matter how much you plan for tomorrow, if you dont [also] take care of today you’ll never get to that tomorrow.
Do you have any notion, any concept, of what a shut-in well is? They can open up pretty quickly when circumstances change to favor production, instead of discouraging and punishing production.
You’re in denial about the politics. You own a little land. Ever wonder what’s a mile down? Two miles? Ever heard of the Cumnock formation?
Probably not. I try to educate you regarding George Mitchell and you label my post a “rant”. Folks with your attitude are lunch for far left “keep it in the ground” climate change fanatics.
Saudi Arabia and UAE leaders ‘decline calls with Biden’
And this is from the far left Guardian!!
Wassa matter, Joe? Nobody but you is surprised people you use as your toilet hate you and want nothing whatsoever to do with you in your hour of need. Unfortunately their disdain for you also harms America, you jackass.
Hey, Joe, maybe your best buds in Iran will bail you out. Ya think? They continue to figure you’re good for the $15B they are currently demanding. And you’re just stupid enough to send them the money. Jackass
Here is the Guardian story. Read it and weep. This jackass is gonna be around for almost another three years:
Sure. But not to replace anything close to 10 million barrels per day. And unless you replace nearly all that lost volume, where there’s no one being left short to bid up prices, the primary effect will just be making those producers rich. Everyone will still be paying through the roof.
It seems there is a bit more to the story than that. Poland wants to give them jets. We supported this, even agreeing to give Poland replacement jets for what they ‘donate’. But in response, Poland instead offered to give us the jets, so that we could be the one giving them to Ukraine. That is what the Pentagon rejected. As the article you link states, it’s a political hot potato where everyone is trying to help Ukraine while also trying to avoid sparking an all-out World War 3. Nobody wants to incur the wrath of Putin, because everyone knows there will be no viable endgame to such a prevocation.
Is war merited? Perhaps. But the only thing to gain from getting that deep into it is for us to take over Russia, divying the Russian land and assets between the victorious allies (namely, NATO?). And we all know that wont happen, no one with a hand in this decision has the gumption to follow through with such a power play - after fighting for however long, suffering so much death and destruction, we will just scold the Russians, spank them a couple times, and send them to their room for a bit. When we all know this will be the end result, there is a very overwhelming interest in avoiding starting a war in the first place.
I thank God it was President Reagan doing the negotiating, and the gutsy walkout, at Reykjavik and not Biden . . . . . else we all might be speaking Russian today. To the bold go the spoils. It takes a leader to stand up to a bully. Biden is a timid pantywaist.

Sorry. Think again
From the AP - just released:
(AP) — The Pentagon on Wednesday slammed the door on any plans to provide MiG fighter jets to Ukraine, even through a second country, calling it a “high-risk” venture that would not significantly change the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Air Force.
This was your own AP article from this afternoon that you linked:
Last week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken had said Washington was looking at a proposal under which Poland would supply Kyiv with the Soviet-era fighters, which Ukrainian pilots are trained to fly, and in turn receive American F-16s to make up for the loss.
But Poland wanted no part of that, concerned about involving itself too directly in conflict with Russia. Poland then said it was prepared to hand over all 28 of its MiG-29 planes — but to NATO by flying them to the U.S. air base in Ramstein, Germany, from where they would somehow be flown to Ukraine.
That was the arrangement the Pentagon turned aside.
Not Biden alone, but Democratic leadership in general. Their general strategy in all disputes - global, political, whatever - is to lecture the other side on they’re so clearly very very wrong, then just expect them to voluntarily fall in line.
In fairness to @glitch99 as regards the above exchange:
I learned Wednesday evening that as recently as (last) Sunday, on Face the Nation, Secretary of State Tony Blinken appeared and stated the US was making ready to supply needed planes to Ukraine. This is as @glitch99 stated (above) and the words came from a highly authoritative source, Blinken himself. Anyone who watched Face the Nation could be forgiven for believing we were going to do the right thing.
Unfortunately for Ukraine, just three days later Biden changed his mind. This is typical of this administration, wracked with indecision and uncertainty, which unfortunately is today at America’s helm.
Yes, but you’re a step behind old boy.
I acknowledge they rejected the Polish deal which took them by surprise. However they thereafter, and without regard to Poland, rejected out of hand the notion of supplying planes to the Ukrainians by or through any means at all. As I write this Biden’s official policy is to deny Ukraine desperately needed jets. Period. End of discussion.
We have to hope some other country will help, because Biden lacks the courage and is too cowed by Putin to step up.
The former justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court was hired last summer by the Republican Speaker of the State Assembly, Robin Vos, to investigate suspected election fraud during the 2020 presidential election. In the report released March 1, Gableman wrote that his investigation uncovered instances of numerous mentally incompetent nursing home residents, non-citizens, and ineligible felons casting votes.… many nursing homes reporting that 100 percent of their residents voted in the 2020 election.
He cited the use by municipal and county clerks of unstaffed absentee ballot drop-boxes, in violation of state law. the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) allegedly exceeded its authority by ordering local election officials to disregard state statutes that regulate absentee voting.
Gableman offered a list of suggested reforms designed to restore public confidence in Wisconsin elections. Among Gableman’s recommendations was a call to abolish the WEC, prohibit outside money and personnel from participating in election administration, and improved training to better acquaint local election officials with their powers, duties, and rights.
He also laid out the legal rationale for decertifying the state’s 10 electors who voted for Democrat Joe Biden. Biden was declared the winner of Wisconsin’s popular vote by six-tenths of one percent, or 20,000 votes.
Relying on the common law principle that fraud or illegality invalidate results under an illegal or fraudulent process, Gableman asserted that the state legislature had the constitutional plenary power to decertify the results of the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin because state laws were broken.
In response, the Democratic politicians said it was a “threat to our democracy” to continue talking about fraud in the last election.
Biden intervenes to gut House’s anti-Putin, anti-Russia sanctions bill
First, credit to the United States House of Representatives for attempting to do the right thing on a BIPARTISAN basis. The American people’s representatives are spot on!! Republicans and Democrats came together and the final sanctions vote was overwhelmingly in approval, a 414 for to 17 against landslide!
Sadly, as reported by Axios:
Lawmakers in both parties were left grumbling when the White House intervened to gut key provisions of the bill.
What we have here is Biden, frightened and timid, siding with Putin against the American people themselves. Axios continues:
The original bipartisan deal, struck by committee leaders in both chambers, would have empowered the U.S. to raise tariffs on imports from Russia and Belarus.
So no planes for Ukraine from Biden and now we see him watering down House sanctions against Russia. It is fair at this point to inquire:
Does Biden favor Putin in this conflict, or does he favor Ukraine? It is pretty obvious which side the American people and their Representatives favor. But that is about as far as it goes. Biden’s preference is unclear. His “support” for Ukraine is halfhearted.
That’s the whole argument in a nutshell. You can agree or disagree that it had any effect on the final results, but this pretty much proves the claims of “fraud” are the opposite of baseless. No matter how hard Democrats try to insist otherwise.
The Democrats are just very lucky that Trump has his head so far up his own ass that he wasnt and isnt able to articulate a coherent argument to convey this message, and instead makes is sound like there were a few people sitting in a secret room filling out thousands of extra ballets for Biden.
The first article was from the AP yesterday afternoon, not television last Sunday.
I searched that new quote you posted, and can only find this:
WARSAW, Poland – The Pentagon on Wednesday slammed the door on any plans to provide MiG fighter jets to Ukraine, even through a second country, calling it a “high-risk” venture that would not significantly change the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Air Force.
Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Polish counterpart on Wednesday and told him the U.S. assessment. He said the U.S. is pursuing other options that would provide more critical military needs to Ukraine such as air defense and anti-armor weapons systems.
Poland had said it was prepared to hand over MiG-29 planes to NATO that could then be delivered to Ukraine, but Kirby said U.S. intelligence concluded that it could be considered escalatory and trigger a “significant” Russian reaction.
Kirby’s remarks went beyond his comments in a statement Tuesday, rejecting Poland’s offer to give fighter jets to the United States for transfer to Ukraine.
He said individual NATO nations can make up their own minds on what assistance to give Ukraine, but it’s questionable whether any would provide fighters without U.S. support.
(Identical text can also be found on other news sites)
But this is still about those MiG jets Poland wants to give, but only give to the US not Ukraine. And I dont see anything close to what you claim, as far as “and without regard to Poland”, “through any means at all”, “official policy is to deny”, “Period. End of discussion”, etc. I find no indication that the original offer to give our own jets to another country to replace their own jets being given to Ukraine is not still an option (besides the fact that Poland unequivically rejected it).
Can you link to whatever update you found that led you to this conclusion? Because google isnt finding it.
No, it is not. Search more diligently. I referenced Blinken’s appearance Sunday. Did you watch that interview?
Obviously not.
You are drinking the leftie Kool-Aid once again . . . . or else you just are an advocate for their viewpoints. They have set up the Poland thing as a straw man. If you cannot see that, it’s your problem.
I will not attempt again to let you off the hook. My error. Henceforth you can just dangle.
