The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 2)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ted-cruz-just-handed-democrats-a-gift-for-the-midterms-—-if-theyre-willing-to-use-it/ar-AAVMWtF?li=BBnb7Kz

There was so much to say about Senator Ted Cruz after his bizarre line of questions at the Senate confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson last week. Many, for good reason, focused on how the episode showed that Cruz has transitioned from an “unctuous asshole” to an aggressively deranged demagogue.

When that’s your opening paragraph… (I really dont know what to say)

we also received a pivotal opinion from Federal Judge David Carter. Carter had been asked to rule on whether or not the House committee investigating the insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, could obtain emails from Donald Trump’s lawyer and political advisor John Eastman. In his opinion, Carter remarked that Trump and Eastman “launched a campaign to overturn a democratic election, an action unprecedented in American history.”

Why is a judge trying to render a verdict in a case that he isnt hearing?

For years it’s been clear that we are terrible at teaching our kids how our democracy works

At least we agree on one thing. Although I’m sure we still disagree on who it is that’s not being taught.

To win in November, though, Democrats need to come after the democratic failures and civics blind spots of the GOP relentlessly.

The GOP failures and blind spots can be summed up in one sentence - “Democrats are infallibly right, and everyone must blindly get in line or they’re terrible horrible no-good very bad people.” How dare Republicans not agree.

But what would it look like if, rather than express outrage at the antics of the GOP, we just kept asking them to explain how our democracy works?

Yes, do that. Because you might learn something…

The background is that in February the UK government was going to force one of the few fracking wells in the country to shut down. Now they decided it’s not going to look good if they force people to ration gasoline and natural gas while they’re shutting down one of the few nonRussia sources.

As you can see from the article, the green crazies want to go ahead with the shut down

In Hungary election, Orban wins big. Steve Hayward of powerline is OK with his victory. The left wing news media hates him so he’s OK in my book.

Yeah Serbia too

Unsurprisingly, CA’s diversity quota system for corporate board seats has been struck down as (obviously totally) unconstitutional.

Next up the CA one for women and NASDAQ’s one for public listed companies…

Unfortunately, often by the time these decisions are rendered, the damage is already done.

BIDEN SAYS: Come one. Come all. Come from anywhere you like. Come illegally with no worries. Just come to disrupt and debase this horrid country we Democrats detest.

Biden: What? Me enforce the law? You HAVE to be kidding!

Biden: We Democrats are proud of the cushy welfare state we have created for you illegals so you can come here, bleed dry Americans who don’t vote for us, and take traditional America apart as fast as you can!

In 2020, uncle Joe was brought on by the Democrats as the non-Bernie Sanders. The American voters fools, principally the women in the suburbs, thought this was because the Democrats wanted someone more moderate. it turned out they just wanted someone they could sell as more moderate. Once he stole the election, Joe has governed to the communist left of Bernie Sanders.

Let them eat cake, the Maxine Waters edition

Waters had reportedly been trying to subdue a riled-up group of people who had come to a nonprofit advocacy group’s event, misled by a social media post into believing they could obtain Section 8 vouchers for permanent subsidized housing.

On Friday Waters told the crowd, ‘you cannot get Section 8 vouchers here.’ Later, she told them to ‘go home,’ and fury broke out.

‘We don’t got no home, that’s why we’re here. What home we gonna go to?’ one person in the crowd yelled.

Of course she tried to cover it up too by intimidating the LA Times, but they published it anyway. Poor Maxine - what have things come to when a senior Democratic Congress member can’t bury a story? Must be racism.

the the 83-year-old progressive congresswoman tried to stop the outlet from publishing the story by warning its investigative reporter they would ‘hurt’ themselves and the community.

When it comes to politics, such women are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. They have done us tremendous harm.

To be fair, a few in Virginia gave evidence last year of finally realizing their obvious error. But with Biden (or Harris) in for another almost three years, the damage they are doing will not I fear be able to be undone starting in 2025. Too late

Wow! She doesn’t look 83 at all… Though her thinking process does. If you try to intimidate a newspaper into silence, even faster they’ll publish the article.

Guess some people shoulda thought of this before casting their votes in the last NY elections.

“My family would have a better future if we left New York City permanently.”The poll found 59% of respondents strongly or somewhat agreed with the statement, while 41% somewhat or strongly disagreed. That’s a 12 percentage-point jump from voters who were asked the same question a year ago.

Unlike their DA, who opposes prison for any crimes except those against his person,

A staggering 95% of voters approve of increasing penalties for gun traffickers, 92% support giving judges more discretion to impose bail on defendants, 85% endorse the creation of the NYPD’s new anti-gun unit with modified uniforms, 80% approve of removing homeless encampments and 77% agree the police should be used to remove homeless individuals from the subway system.

It’s not only in NYC. We self evidently today, in America, are being governed by people who thumb their noses at the will of the majority. That ruling minority exists because of shallow voters unable to see past Trump’s admittedly annoying personality. Those same voters also fell for Biden’s alluring “I’m a centrist” big lie message.

Anyone who votes for any Democrat going forward is simply a fool.

Biden in the crosshairs and on the hot seat - SCANDAL!

“The president’s past denials of any knowledge or involvement with his son’s business dealings now stands contradicted not only by witnesses and e-mails but also by Hunter Biden himself,”

University of Minnesota law professor Richard Painter, who was chief White House ethics lawyer for then-President George W. Bush, also said that without the corporate returns, “you don’t know where the money’s coming from.”

The White House didn’t respond to a request for comment.

How can they comment knowing Biden is guilty as hell?

Lily white Chicago-area church fades to black . . . . . . for Lent!

What will these liberals come up with next!!

How can anyone find this lunacy to be symbolic of anything but their own self-righteous arrogance?

10% for the Big Guy, update

Interesting graphs for how much each newspaper / publication focuses on right wing (red line) or left wing (blue line) extremism in their articles. You can see the history over time for each.

Obviously most of the lines go up, corresponding to more partisan politics recently, but it’s also interesting which ones went from being even more or less in their commentary to very one-sided and usually anti-right. More evenhanded publications include Economist, the Hill, NY Post, etc. also dramatic to see how more extremist the originally pure news organizations became in the last few years - Bloomberg, Reuters, NPR, AP.
