The battle of the century is on. Maybe. Still some haggling about details.
Another battle of the century is on. But there is some hedgingââpotentialâ
Edit. Aug. 8, 2023
even more hedging
Finally, we are almost in agreement. Better education and not making abortions legal. Being a Californian, do you have a suggestion for better education, other than throwing more money at it, or taking it from the successful? I mean, thatâs worked incredibly well for education so far ⌠and homelessness ⌠and poverty (the 60 year war), etc. Any other ideas?
Not even for your local area? What data do you need?
Since killing babies is legal in CA, there is no excuse for having children that you canât afford. Isnât that logical, especially if the woman is of the LGBTWF++ crowd, or a woman of color?
If it were pointless, I wouldnât have asked.
I qualified for them and could certainly have used them. I found the need to work extra hours.
Why do you think that? You wonât even define âneedâ with numbers. See a few quotes above.
Then move to areas where the minimum wage is $15. I mean, those are already liberal cities with liberal benefits. Why would someone suffer through hunger, malnutrition, disease, etc., when there are wonderful, peaceful, green liberal cities that welcome them, even if illegal, or criminal?
Youâre not following the plot line. This conversation was in regards to Africa and Asia growing too fast. Throwing money at it is a fine solution.
What if you can afford them now, but then life happens and you can no longer afford them after theyâve already been born? Not everyone is as clairvoyant as you.
Said not by someone who is providing all of the funding. Just throwing money at almost any problem is rarely a route to success, and certainly not an efficient one.
Doesnât life always happen? Well, except in CA where they can killâem abortâem on demand.
Thanks for the compliment, but I am far from clairvoyant. If I were, Iâd have two houses on Water Island.
President Joseph Robinette Biden, last month announced, and was widely reported as, his administration is buying 6 million more barrels of oil for the SPR, from which he withdrew ~180 million barrels to help the 2022 Democrat candidates to help Americans in the wake of the âunprecedentedâ Ukraine invasion. Yes, Ukraine is known more for wheat, but thatâs another story.
Our comic fearless leader continues to keep America as his top priority. This time, he is cancelling, without much fanfare, that same ballyhooed purchase. Despite the proud announcement of 6 million âmoreâ barrels, the big guy has, so far, only purchased 3 million barrels to replace the 180 million that he sold.
There is no proof that Hunter Biden sold multiple paintings/drawings/etchings (from his attic) at 7 figure prices (less 10% to the big guy) to the benefactors of the record low SPR level.
One final note about the SPR reporting - almost all reporting has talked about this being the lowest level since 1983,4,5. This is technically accurate, but very misleading. It was only that low in 1983,4,5 because it was being filled for the first time. Consequently, the reporting should be that the SPR is at its lowest level since inception.
Iâm beginning to believe that the big networks donât do any research. They just report the news as itâs written by the White House press office. For a dose of humor, I suggest that we replace the current word salad lady with Willieâs ex. I canât imagine the number of times that cameras and microphones will fail while she is speaking/spitting out words.
âŚand gas prices have spiked in the last couple weeks. Couldnt be a coincidence, could it?
President Joseph Robinette Biden, possibly following his Democrat predecessorâs example, has agreed to deliver more pallets of cash to Iran.
In order to top The Anointed One, he has also agreed to free Iranian terrorists. In exchange, President Joseph Robinette Biden gets 6 Iranian-Americans to possibly be returned to America.
To be fair, The Anointed One got a fart in the wind for his pallets of cash. Consequently, slow Joe canât get much less.
Why doesnât he negotiate/bargain/get-kickbacks with our actual enemies as well as he does for his family (BCF) ? Maybe heâs following the Perot plan, without thinking that he has to do anything. Sorry, but compared to Perot, (or anyone else) he sucks!
The next time Iran need some cash, they will just scoop up some more American tourists.
I presume the poster knows what he/she/zebra is talking about and would have been shot down immediately if he/she/zebra was off target âŚ

Letâs shoot that zebra then. I was curious and did some quick reading.
Barr made John Durham a special council in 2020. Was that also a violation of the same regulations?
As an engineer who has read more than one IETF RFC, the word âshallâ doesnât mean what you think it means and shall be defined. I donât know where to find the definition for that regulation, but perhaps it does not mean âmustâ.
Possibly significant but they may be really focusing their cash on ground game like ballot harvesting and manufacturing
Left-Wing Groups Are Scrambling For Cash, Laying Off Workers In Droves
Numerous left-wing groups have cut spending and laid off staff, while others have struggled with fundraising amid ongoing economic turmoil.
Some of the groups cited the current hardships in fundraising, while others stated they are merely reorganizing, according to multiple reports. The left-wing organizations are letting go of significant portions of their workforces as they adapt their strategies.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chanâs philanthropic organization Chan Zuckerberg Initiative laid off dozens of employees in a restructuring effort on Wednesday, the organization confirmed to Business Insider.
Furthermore, left-wing billionaire George Sorosâ Open Society Foundations announced in June it plans to lay off at least 40% of its worldwide employees, according to CNN Business.
I do not know which thread this belongs in. It has both political and China-US conflict implications.
TSMC wants to bring over some workers from Taiwan and the American labor unions are trying to stop it.
Interesting politics since the Biden administration seems to be backing TSMC but the Arizona state government may not. Arizona government was mostly taken over by the Democrats in 2022. The Republicans control the legislature, but the Democrats stole the governor, Attorney General, and secretary of state positions.
An EB-2 visa is for green card immigration, not just employment.
I was not aware of that. It seems TSMC wants to have the Taiwan workers operate the fab and not just build it.
This makes some sense. Despite what the union says, there are not many American workers who have experience working on a fab.
Intel has many fabs in Arizona, New Mexico, and Oregon. In fact, IIRC, people had been laid off in New Mexico so the issue isnât a lack of qualified fab workers. BTW, here in Oregon, the community college trains people to work as operators in the fabs.
Me thinks TSMC doesnât want to deal with unions. I donât blame TSMC.
Are they the same technology as TSMC? I recall reading in the book Chip Wars that many of their fab workers have advanced engineering degrees.
The book also mentions that they did not like non-Taiwanese work ethic. If something goes wrong in the middle of the night in Taiwan, their employees will be there fixing it. Outside Taiwan, workers wait until the morning.
There are many engineers and operators working in any fab, including people with advanced degrees.
Years ago I worked for a company that supplied Hewlett-Packard fab in Corvallis with capital equipment. The fab workers there were top notch and proud of their work. Itâs an exacting industry and there is no space for bad performers.
I think thatâs one of the squishy prerequisites for an EB-2.
I donât blame them either, but if they want the tax break, they should have to deal with the local work force. I wonder how quickly they would build that plant if there were no tax break for doing so.
