The 2024 election politics

fox news pro walz piece??!

It does make him out to be the ideal candidate. But I’d guess that it’s more ā€œanyone but Trumpā€ motivated.

it’s sad that both sides have such weak candidates.

Both President Trump and Senator Vance have substantial private sector experience, which should be required for political office. Vice president Harris and Governor Walz have zero private sector experience. All of them have substantial experience in government.

I don’t believe Kamala is qualified. Having said that, I’ve worked with people that have 30+ years experience in industry and I wonder how on Earth they didn’t get fired before. It isn’t just about experience but what you know and what you do. Trump’s rhetoric is getting old and has historically been counterproductive. If Trump were an employee in an organization, he’d be labeled a toxic co-worker and promptly given his pink slip.

+1 Look at the track record of his co.s. It’s funny how some on this group are ok with multiple corp. BK, just not personal BK.

The only people left willing to lend to him were Russian/ German banks. Then he ran for president I wouldn’t consider his years as President ā€œPublic Serviceā€. It was a publicity stunt so he could sell more stuff.

Again both sides have weak candidates. I’m even considering voting for RFK. He should have picked a good republican VP candidate. Oh well I hope the GOP get’s it act together for 2028!

someone hacked the Trump campaign and leaked their internal assessment of VP Vance, including his shortcomings.

Kamala’s search promoters are making their sponsored ads look like they come from reputable, well, at least recognized news agencies and describe some non-existent article headline favorable to her.

The Harris campaign has been editing news headlines and descriptions within Google search ads that make it appear as if the Guardian, Reuters, CBS News and other major publishers are on her side, Axios has found.

Apparently, he ran sweatshops in KY (literally, people passing out in the heat…)

Her parents where Marxists, her voting record in the senate was the most far left in 2019 before she became VP of anyone there (until it was memory holed as part of her campaign blitz), and now we’re getting her policy:

News: Kamala Harris will on Friday propose the first ever ā€œfederal ban on corporate price gougingā€ in the food and grocery industries on Friday, the campaign says in a statement

Will also announce measures on housing & prescription drugs

I guess there’ll be one vote for Marxism and one vote for capitalism on the ballot in November.

More coverage

I’m sure this will stop inflation too:

Confirming reporting that Kamala Harris is proposing $25K in federal assistance for first time homebuyers — would go to 1.4M ppl

No longer protected, not yet pardoned, the First Artist was obviously an unregistered foreign lobbyist - something numerous Trump officials or campaign staff were prosecuted or threatened with by the Biden regime, in a new expansion of crimes previously not considered for anyone. Sadly for Hunter, he’s no longer important in the post Kamala coronation media world, so now NYT who hid his crime ridden laptop from voters a few short years ago can do an expose on his crimes.

  1. Hunter Biden is in the hot seat again. DOJ prosecutors are now alleging the president’s son and two of his associates accepted payments of up to $3 million from a Romanian businessman who was ā€œattempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion.ā€ The new detail emerged in a filing related to the younger Biden’s federal tax fraud case, where he faces up to three felonies and other misdemeanors for allegedly failing to pay his taxes. Ah! The Brainiac behind the Democrat party candidate has no history education (I’m shocked). He/She/It should ask Tricky Dick, Athletic Gerald, or ā€œI’m the smartest man in the roomā€ Jimmy about price controls, because that’s what this is attempting to be without self-identifying as price controls.

-=-=-= Edit -=-=-=
I stand corrected. After seeing and hearing the speech, It appears that whoever wrote it wants prices to be measured. Jeez, all they have to do is ask the BLS. They’ve been gauging prices and calculating the CPI for decades.

She’s too far left for WashPo, and that’s a lot.

Sure, HA-HA, except those IRS agents weren’t sic’d on tip workers.

Audit trends vary by taxpayer income. In recent years, IRS audited taxpayers with incomes below $25,000 and those with incomes of $500,000 or more at higher-than-average rates.

DNC releases their 90 page platform of their official election season talking points. The most important thing to start with is… a stolen land acknowledgement :man_facepalming: .

Haven’t read through all of it yet. Meanwhile, at the actual convention, the Democratic elite decide walls for them are a good idea.

In a move that would be laughable if it weren’t so hypocritical, the Democratic Party is set to erect an impenetrable wall around their convention venue in Chicago and require photo ID from everyone who wants to attend. Yes, you read that correctly. The very party that has spent years branding walls as racist and denouncing voter ID laws as discriminatory is now embracing both

20+% inflation last 3 years, hot wars across the world, millions of illegal aliens pouring across our borders and this is their lead

Democratic National Convention Land Acknowledgement
The Democratic National Committee wishes to acknowledge that we gather together to state our values on lands that have been stewarded through many centuries by the ancestors and descendants of Tribal Nations who have been here since time immemorial. We honor the communities native to this continent, and recognize that our country was built on Indigenous homelands. We pay our respects to the millions of Indigenous people throughout history who have protected our lands, waters, and animals.
While we meet in Chicago, we also recognize and honor the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe, also known as the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations.
We acknowledge the many other tribes who consider this area their traditional homeland, including the Myaamia, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac and Fox, Peoria, Kaskaskia, Wea, Kickapoo, and Mascouten.
Democrats continue to support tribes as they advocate for the United States to uphold treaty and trust responsibilities. We applaud that in 2024, under the Biden-Harris Administration, the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation became the first federally recognized Tribal Nation in Illinois in 175 years, when the U.S. Department of the Interior placed 130 acres of the Shab-eh-nay reservation in nearby DeKalb County into trust.

You first. The article you posted does not provide evidence of sic’ing IRS agents on tip workers. I expect most tipped workers make more than $25K/yr. And I have some evidence:

https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes353031.htm

I’m also guesstimating that food service has the largest number of tipped employees, so this evidence seems valid.

BTW I’m opposed to the idea of not taxing tips. On the one hand it may simplify compliance for everyone – employers, employees, and IRS, and this is great. But on the other hand, it creates an incentive for states where minimum wage for tipped and non-tipped employees is the same to change these rules and adopt the federal minimum wage for tipped employees ($2/hr?).

I hate the idea of tipping, with a passion. It’s extremely stupid and counterproductive. We should be trying to get away from it, not run towards it.
